Hmmm... I had a terible night last night on core. So bad infact, that I now flatly refuse to play any core game modes until the ridiculous lag problem is sorted out. It doesnt seem to be a problem in hardcore though.
Case in point. I have taken to using the RPD in core now as it simply takes too many rounds to drop a guy. I shot three guys, and was about to shoot a forth, and after about 3 rounds I had to reload the gun - that was an average of 30 rounds to drop each guy! When I get a good game, it only takes around 4 or 5 rounds from the RPD to drop a guy. IW also need to sort out the matchmaking problems, becuase there are many.
@ Sharky:
Whats the point of having a silencer on your sniper rifle if you haven't got the 'cold-blooded' perk? I also find that, especially in core, that ANY silencer on a sniper rifle is counter productive, and at medium to long range, requires a headshot to register a kill.
My 3 favourite gun setups are:
RPD core: grip, thumper, 2x flash, 1x semtex (or C4), marathon pro, stopping power pro, scrambler pro.
Famas ghost: RDS, silencer, 2x flash, 1x semtex, M93 with RDS, and silencer, bling pro, cold-blooded pro, ninja pro.
Scar ghost: silencer or m203, 2 x flash, 1x semtex, m93 with silencer or thumper, scavenger pro, cold-blooded pro, ninja pro.
Although I use flashes, I am going to swithc to using stun grnades. Orginally, with COD4, I favoured flashes, and so with MW2, but I noticed a curious side effect from stun grenades that makes them far more effective. If you like to air burst your flashes, switch to stuns because even if they only slightly affect the target, the sights of the person who was stunned sway quite dramatically. This is very handy if you want to attack an area. This effect doesn't happen with flashes though, so you can gain an immediate advantage by switching from flashes to stuns. 👍
