Got two things here. First off, how many people use drop shot strategy when they play? I use it because it works, but to me it seems like the animation is slower going into prone from standing in MW2 compared to COD4, does it seem that way to anyone else? It worked much better in COD4 than in MW2.

Secondly, this is just wishful thinking here. Wouldn't it be pretty rad if when they do the map packs that they would release additional perks and or additional killstreaks? Just wondering what peoples thought on that would be if they did. Or maybe even a few new weapons kicked in there, I was slightly disappointed in the pick of weapons this go around, take my MP5 and replace it with the newer, shorter MP!? Its crap compared the the MP5 from COD4. SMG's are crap all around on this one.

I think the Call of Duty Wiki has a better list and info on the callsigns.

Perks would be first on my list, or weapons.

Breakpoint, as far as SMGs go, what ones have you been using? I find the MP5 and the UMP to be fairly effective but I am having no luck with the Vector, and the P90 takes forever to drop people.

And I just played with the callsign generator...

My usual right now

And under certain conditions...

Too bad we can't have images in our signatures like most forums, come to think of it why is the reason we can't? Does it cost more for Jordan just because of the extra bandwidth?

I have only played it for a total of maybe 7 hours and a friends house because I don't have it yet, but from me messing around with different guns it seems the MP5K is the only SMG that is worth anything, and its nowhere near as good as it was in COD4 :( It seems like MW2 is all about the assault rifles because no matter which one you use they just rip, especially the AK47, it drops people really fast.

I only used the silenced P90 at first, but after seeing Azure using UMP, used that one for awhile. I've dropped all SMG since though, except the P90. I still use it with a silencer and cold-blooded.

Since I've prestiged, I've actually started using the MP5's in my Akimbo setup. With the Stopping Power Pro, it tends to drop people pretty fast. Just really need to use them in bursts unless I am just in one of those "oh snap" people situations.

And I tried out Thermal on the FAL, and I don't understand people at all that use the AR's with thermals, because you still have to hold your breath...

I never had to. Actually, I didn't know for like a week or two that you can hold your breath with a thermal scope. I had them on my ACR, also SCAR for awhile, and without holding your breath, I thought they acted like the old
ACOG from the CoD4(I miss that baby!). I don't use them anymore, I don't use the Holo's either. It's all red dot for me now.

P.S. I think I will have to give MP5 a chance. I tried it a bit in the beginning, did not like it. But it's the MP5!

I tend to use the Red Dot as well over other sights. Though I do have the ACOG on my stealth setup, since I am normally using it to pick of targets at a moderate range. And the FAL tends to be more suited to medium distance engagements.

The MP5 has much higher rate of fire, which lets you create that effective "storm" of bullets you want when going Akimbo. A quick 3 or 4 shot burst from each at once will generally drop someone in close quarters. I've walked through a few 4 or 5 man groups before using this setup, but Akimbo isn't for everyone... and apparently people call me a noob for using two guns  Often people that sit there with a heart beat sensor and you can tell they rely on it from the killcams when they do get me.

Silly people.

srsly. I couldn't believe how well Full Force worked with the noob tube challenge ("Ouch!") icon when I first tried it either

edit: PS3 patch is out.

#MW2 PS3 patch just went live! Includes the Akimbo 1887s re-balancing, fix for Prestige hack, & fix for Public "private" Match. 360/PC soon

Can't do mine right..... :(

This is sort of how my XBL one look like. It doesn't have the "Rising Sun" in the flag, and the clan tag is supposed to be [¥100] for 100 yen. It's so lame that you can't get the "yen" mark on PSN(or this generator lol). 👎

But after finding out how cool "Omnicide" one is, I might change it to this:

I used to have the same setup, except it was the oh-so common "Bow Down" title, same militia emblem + [¥100] clan tag.

I used to think this title + emblem thing was pretty silly, but I've probably spent decent amount of time trying out different combination. :p

Cant wait to boot up the new patch. I rage quit the entire game earlier cause I got pwned by those bloody shotguns.

This is what mine currently looks like in-game.

As far as adding guns... how 'bout bringing back the M14? It's in singleplayer might as well put it in multiplayer. I absolutely loved the M14 in COD4 and I love the M21 EBR in this game but I wouldn't mind actually having an M14 with a holographic/red dot with a shotgun attachment. :D

Epic matches with legendary724 in Sabotage.

Me coming top of the board with 1-1-6 (1320)

Legendary724 coming top next match with 5-1-4 (1720)

By the way guys, both of those were with us blowing up the bombs obviously.

@ Breakpoint. I use the drop shot quite often on MW2, but it was a core of my defensive strategy in COD4. I haven't gone into the specifics of the differences between COD4 and MW2, but I know on COD4, you could throw yourself to the floor firing, and get up firing, without losing your aim. I will look into whether it works like that in MW2. 👍

As for SMGs, I find that there is nothing wrong with them themselves, its just that the game is different. COD4 favoured them becauswe generally there was a lot of closed quarters fighting, in MW2, its not always the case. I also wonder about the point of SMGs when you can have the superb P200, M93, or TMP as a secondary. In hardcore, I use a bling'd M93 as my primary weapon, with an exotic setup for my original primar weapon.

My pick of the SMGs would have to be the UMP first and the MP5K second in core, but in hardcore, it would have to be the Vector. I find that the UMP his very accurate at its range limit, though the MP5K has issues wityh the bullet groupings, though closer up, the MP5K seems to fair a little better than the UMP.

I'm glad to see that IW have patched the 10th prestige bug too. I wonder if that means their accounts have been banned? :sly:

Yeah when IW says they "balanced" the 1887's what exactly did that entail?
According to reports they nerfed the range on akimbo (and only akimbo) so much that now you need to be within about ten feet to 1HK.

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and i am starting to think that left-handed gamers may have an advantage when playing FPSs.

How so? It has nothing to do with which hand we play the game with, but oddly enough, it relates to how we process visual information. Scientific studies have proven that there is a distinct difference in the way that right and left-handed people deal with visual information, and left-handed people have a skill, I call it a skill for want of a better word, called 'visual simultaneous', something a right-handed person genreally hasn't got.

What is 'visual simultaneous'? From scientific studies, scientists have discerned it to be this. Imagine you have a box of random objects, and you are asked to find one specific object in that box. Generally, a right handed person would keep pulling out objects until they found the correct object. Conversly, a left handed person would tip out the box, and find the object that was requested. You can conclude then, that the time it takes a right handed person to find an object is longer than it would be for a left handed person.

How does that relate to FPSs? As I have stated previously, I use a look sensitivity of 1. It seems impossibly low, but because I can process information simultaneously, I can see more than a right hand person can anyway. I often watch other gamers with higher look sensitivities, and I always notice that they are constantly twitching, checking each area one after the other.

I don't do that. I keep my sights in a predefined place, which I previously called a 'batters box' Instead of moving the sights of the gun to check each area, I check all areas at once, whiilst keeping my sights in a position that I deem to be the most likely position for an enemy to be in. I do this by surveying the screen, moving my eyes, and not the sights to find targets that may present themselves.

If you were to watch my actions on killcam, you would be surprised at how slow I actually move the gun sights. This, I believe, is because I have a real advantage. If any proof is needed, I can say that I play with my fingers and not my thumbs, have a look sensitivity of 1, and a K/D ration of ~2.10. I'm not saying that I am a god gamer, far from it! Those twitchy right handers sometimes have the tip when it comes to reactions, but I don't play the game using reations.

It would be interesting to see the differences between right and left handed gamers, because I believe there are some very real differences. Are there any lefties out there? How do you play MW2?

Interesting theory. I tend to quickly dart my sights from one area to another in the hope of seeing movement. No surprises for guessing my handedness.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I discovered this a few days back: in third-person modes, clicking L3 while ADS swaps the camera from over one shoulder to the other. Useful for peeking around corners. 👍

I am not sure what the update did yet because I didnt have to download it to play yesterday despite them saying it was live. I just played with no update, not even a choice to download it.

It wasn't out in EU regions yesterday; it is now.

edit: 20-7-12 in a Highrise Sabotage  But thanks to the stupid Pave Low glitch, my killstreak is still only 12; it should be 14 :/ I started off 0-4, and ended up 14-4 after I unleashed the Predator, Harrier and Pave Low :)
