Gonna have to beg to differ with you on that one. Like Lengendary & Stevisov described, in addition to my personal experience and coupled with this link http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns, STD is attained when you knife/stab someone who has the STD title ACTIVELY displayed (not just available in their callsign list). Although most probably don't agree, I like to refer to it as the Stabbing Transmitted Disease title .

Hmmm... well of course I'm not doubting your personal experience. All I know is that what I've read matches how I remember receiving it. In my case I didn't know I had it until after the match and then while checking out the other players titles I noticed 1 of them had STD active so I concluded that's how I got it as I did knife 1 guy in the game prior. Re: the CoD Wikia well I'm uncertain, guessing someone must have updated that entry after you first read it.

Just had my best round with 44-2 on Scrapyard with a best streak of 36 i just love it when everything goes ur way! im surprised that im starting to get addicted, and thats saying a lot - i hated COD4. I guess waiting for BFBC2 is a good thing now that its forced me to play MW2.

I can't get my emblem there, I use my a rank insignia, changing it as i rank up. That with a simple union jack, no text, making my callsign rather boring to most. It's uniform, simple and to the point and right now it lets people know they're being killed by a very low ranked player but thats not really the point.

I just don't like most of the emblems and titles, they all seem a little silly to me, I like mine simple and to the point. I'm from the UK, I'm this rank and I'm going to do my job as best I can, don't really care what anyone else thinks. Thats just me though, most who know me well will know I'm calm, clean and efficient, no mucking about.

Oh yeah I'm aware of, just aware of not knowledgeable mind you, the Hanshin Tigers. Always been a huge tiger fan (the feline) myself as well. But even though the tiger emblem looks "cooler" the raptor claw given the story behind it... well I just gotta stick with it.

The gorilla icon is very eye catching I agree. The kid who FR you simply because of it though... just .

Yeah that is kinda a chin scratcher that they don't include the more simple rank icons in their generator. Seems a rather obvious thing for them to overlook.

Have you guys seen or heard of the STD title? It's very rare and you have to knife the person who has it on to get it for yourself. I was in a match with a dude that had it, and I didn't really know how to get it at the time so for the entire match I was trying to get knifed by him.

You kinda missed a big conversation didn't you TsukubaTrueno? That was talked about, I got my mate the std and infected title the first hour playing MW2 at his house. Not sure why everyone thinks its so hard to get or is so crazy about it though.

So I decided to give up and have fun. My new loadout is and ACR (which I never use), Colt .44, grenade, Marathon, Lightweight, and Commando. Needless to say, I just go around a knife people now for fun. And my first game, I want 26 and 17, which gives me a boost to use it all the time. It's amazing how more I like the game now . I'm still working on the tactical knife though, hopefully I'll get it soon.

Happy new year all! I'm getting back into the action after a sabaticle by the sea. Hmmm... This game is starting to wind me up a little now. There is nothing wrong with the game itself, its those cheating bar stewards that ruin it for the rest of us.

Last night I ran across a couple of guyus trying to do the nuke trick, and I put paid to that, and again to day I ran into a clan called OCB (if you see them, just exit). They had a full clan on one side, and three other guys on our team of six, all working for the nuke.

Once I cottoned onto what was going on, I made it my mission to stop them, and I did too, but the whole of the opposing team was after me. Thankfully, we ran out of time, and lost the game the good old fashioned way. The top guy on the other team finished 123-0-12, and those 12 deaths were all from my gun, and the ENTIRE game was played under constant air support. I was mostly lucky because I was using cold-blooded, but I must of got caught by two or three stealth bombers.

IW need to sort this stuff out, because it not only ruins the game, but also distorts it too. If I had my way, tactical insertion flares would go, and the nuke would be bumped up to 40+ kills, because 25 kills is just too low if you ask me. 👍

I use the tactical insertions, but I use them the way they were meant to be used! On my knife class I will toss one down before I run into a building to flank and If I do get snuffed the last thing they expect is me to be right back on top of them, that gets me revenge 99% of the time, I love the things.

At the very least, limit each player to a maximum of three flares per match. Makes it impossible to boost to a nuke without getting your hands dirty at some point, unless you were in Ground War - but you'd still need the entire opposing team (9x3 = 27) filled with your nuke boost buddies even in a GW match.

They both are good, they both would piss me off if it happened to me also. But its kind of cool in a sense too. You shoot off the javelin and the plane drops flares and the javelin detours and ends up smashing back into you.

I've always sucked at knifing, but lately, it's been impossible. I go knife, nothing happens. Push again, nothing, I'm dead. Last night, I go after the other team's sentry gun. I throw a stun, get right next to it, push melee, nothing happens. I push again, nothing, I'm dead.

I thought it was my controller for sure, but when just testing it, it does come out. I hate that R3(or whatever on the analog stick) button with passion. For me, one major flaw with this game is the lack of customizable button layout. It would make my CoD life so much easier.

You can change the controller to have O be melee instead of R3 in Options menu.

To be honest, I can't see circle being a good option unless you crab the control in your hands like myself, otherwise you have to stop changing your direction to melee, you only have 2 thumbs.
