I don't understand the random people I play with on Xbox Live sometimes. I got into a good perch in the Terminal level (on the roof next to the runway/plane) and I picked a few guys off pretty easily. I figured they'd catch on.

After about five kills, nobody seemed to remember that I was sitting up there, and I was racking them up. I decided that I was just going to sit up here and pick people off until they killed me. After my tenth kill, my team won JUST as I was about to get an AC130. But my point is, I was sitting up in basically the same spot all day and nobody figured out "Hey, maybe we should kill this guy!" What were they thinking? I suggest you guys do this (i.e. shamelessly camp).

Knifing is pretty fun. I'm usually up like 7-1 in the beginning of the round, but they catch up to you later on in the game after people spread out more and spawn points change.

I got a 10kill streak on that Rundown map (is it? the grassy map with a small village, not wasteland) and just as I was crapping my pants waiting for my 11th sniper kill, someone thermaled me with their Barret. I guess it was payback for me using a Thermal Barret on them.

I think sometimes, due to your position, they can not get to you for one reason or another(wrong class, color blind, I don't know). So they figure they'll focus on your teammates somewhere else. I don't believe that is a good advice, because you rarely get that lucky sitting in one spot, unless you get matched with bunch of noobs. I totally get what you are saying though. When I camp, I move around one general area. You gotta keep them guessing. On CoD4, my favorite camping map was Overgrown. I'd generally work around the entire side opposite of grandma's house, from the wooden bridge to the stone bridge. Crossfire, perhaps my second favorite camping map, I worked nearly the entire map.

Just finished the story.

I am not to happy that Roach died like that, it was disappointing. The mission in the grave yard was cool and the music was awesome.
The end is a bit of a cliffhanger but I cant wait for it to resume. The music in the game is very effective and nice to listen to, it sets the mood very well. I am currently watching the end credits which are interesting, I havent seen anything like it.

Well i'm taking back what I said about 69 stars being impossible for me in spec ops (not that i have them yet) as i have completed what i think to be the most challenging two missions. The last two in the Echo section, High Explosive (10 juggernauts only using explosives and a knife) and the other one with 15 juggernauts on the oil rig !!

So far im at 48 / 69 stars I have completed 15 on veteran level.

I have also found 34 / 45 intel on campaign - im actually thinking about using a guide to find the rest as im totally lost to where they could be !! Think my Campaign is currently at 96% complete - just the last of the intel will get me 100%

I wonder how many space dollars Activision is going to be charging people for this stuff? That might even be the first pack of DLC that Activision promised! Just like EA! Only to the next level!

PC Gamers: Not taking this 🤬 since 1993.

To be fair COD4 had new multiplayer modes added a couple of times during its life, none were charged for at all (only the map pack).

Doesn't mean that they will not charge this tiem around, but it also doesn't mean they automatically will either.

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting a Call of Duty game for my PS3, to have something different to play apart from racing games.

I used to play the first 3 CoD games back on the PS2 and I loved the game, and that immersive atmosphere of a WWII scenario.

The available options are obvious: CoD:MW, CoD:WaW and COD:MW2. I clear that I've never even tried one of these 3 before. I also have no experience whatsoever on this kind of games on online multiplayer mode.

I'd guess that all 3 would have pro's and con's. I feel that CoD:MW would be a no-buying since, I'd imagine, everybody knows own MW2 and play it online, so MW online should be pretty dead by know.

Between WaW and MW2 what would you suggest? What is better in one and the other.

Give me your thoughts please.

Thanks (in advance)

EDIT:I just checked WaW thread and it became obvious that the game is (or was ever?...) dead. But, nevertheless, and althought I'm most likely going to buy MW2, tell if possible what is your opinion of it, the things you think are the highlights and the low's of it.

Cheers

Not played WaW, but everyone i know who has much preferes MW.

Although i've now got MW2, i've still not given up on MW. I've played MW online quite a lot the past couple of weeks, and found that not only are there plenty of folks still playing it (in the weeks that MW2 came out!) but the people who are playing it are playing it in a sociable manor (neither extreme campers or run and gunners), they've all migrated and took their bad habits to the new game.

Although i wouldn't discourage anyone from buying MW2, it is a great game after all, i wouldn't totally rule out MW either, it's a very well balanced, all-time-classic of a FPS. 👍

Thanks for replying!

I'd like to have a "serious" online game experience. To make me more understandable, in racing games I hate 'punters' and people who are more interested of destroying everyone's race rather then actually winning it. So I'm all in that "social manor" you mentioned 👍.

Is it hard to get it online in MW2? Because I guess that in a few months people would be migrating more and more to MW2.

I should think that anyone whose a fan of the CoD franchise will already have the game, it will probably be people new to the series who will be picking it up between now and Christmas.

It's not hard at all to get online in either MW or MW2, IW's servers do a good job in quickly matching players and leaving less down-time between games 👍

I've not put much time into MW2 yet, and for me, the dury is still out whether it's a better gaming experience over MW. I'm finding the new huge range of killstreak rewards to be a distraction from the core of the online game.

It's harder to get when you're playing with strangers over the internet. Not impossible, but in most public games I play nobody really talks, and the few who do aren't saying anything that could help in a game situation.

You are correct, of course. But given that Activision have essentially gone out of their way to be portrayed as cartoonish supervillians since MW2 was announced, I'm highly skeptical that this isn't an honest-to-god case of the real-world equivalent of a Captain Planet episode.

HELP!

When playing MW2 online my killstreak rewards dont seem to work. Last night I had them set to UAV, Care Package and Predator Missle. The UAV and the Missle worked fine, but the Care Package - which is dropped from the chopper - didnt. I got this message, "No Equipment Available".

I then changed over to the Sentry Gun, Airstrike and the Attack Heli. My Airstrike and Heli both worked fine but again my Sentry Gun didnt drop. I got the same message.

Now am I missing something here? My team can still recieve these packages, but Im getting this message. They stack up and I cant use them :banghead:

HELP!

That's weird. What platform are you playing it on?

For me, that message only comes up when I press the "Equipment" function (grenades, semtex, blast shield, etc) and I'm all out.

PS3. I just had a private game with Dan (Hyperspeed) to test it out and I couldnt call it in again, and when he kill me his came straight away...

I'd try deleting your gamesave, seriously.

As for people talking, yeah I hate it. Two or three people on my team may have a mic, yet they don't ever talk. When I see an enemy that I'm not going to be able to kill for whatever reason (or there are multiples) I announce their position. And when I'm dead and watching someone elses view (hardcore, no killcam) I try to spot enemies that they don't see. I had one guy walk right next to a window an enemy was at yesterday and I told him exactly where. He just keeps walking down the road. I think games need to sort mic from non-mic people in separate lobbies. You just have no chance when you get stuck playing a six-player clan that actually communicates and you've got a bunch of mercs on your team going solo against their team...

From their position on the grassy knoll, IW have effectively headshotted the competition with the relaease of this game, what an absolute blinder MW2 is! COD4 will always have a speical place in my heart because it is such a special game, but MW2 is a more than worthy sucessor.

My pick of the guns so far include the Famas (I've 10/10 mastered it), the SCAR-H, FAL, M93, Javelin missile, M16, and the M21 sniper. I like the Glock 18, but it is a little too unwieldly at times, due to its ridiculous rate of fire.

One aspect of the game that deserves praise is the depth of specialisation that is possible. I thought that COD4 was pretty deep, but it looks shallow compared to this. Another aspect of the game that also deserves praise is the single player campaign, its thrilling, tense, and at time disturbing (eg. 'No Russian')

IW deserve massive respect for delivering a game that has far surpassed my expectations, this is what a modern FPS should look like! EVERYTHING else looks ordinary by comparrison. 11/10 for me! :D

A couple of minor girpes I have include:

* I don't like it when team members spawn from my location. It can be a tad annoying to get myself into a comfy sniping position, only for it to be crashed by half the team.

* On the PS3 version, the silenced M16 sound exactly the same as an unsilenced M16, I'm sure this a bug, though I'm not sure if it is local, or on the server, or both.

* I also don't like the tracers that silenced weapons give off when they fire. I have been caught out a few times by enemies who, until I fired, were unaware of my location. In my mind sileneced weapons should be visually as well as aurally silent.

* Online lag is an issue at times, though I'm sure this is down to the sheer numbers of players trying to connect. I have confidence that IW will get to the bottom of the problem.

I'm currently using this as my callsign:
ac130-1.jpg

It says "Angel of Death"

And this as the emblem
emblem-brit-beret.jpg

I usually try to find an emblem that suits the title.

I really want this title!

Aaagghhgrhrghhhg, retarded PS3/game. I decided to try plugging the console directly into my modem, that worked fine. Except I was back to NAT3 and "strict" in MW2... and then MW2 froze the console when in the lobby. Twice.

aaaaagh.... why does it have to be so awkward to get a decent connection for once...

You know, in the beginning, I was like "what is this stupid crap?". I have that "bow down" evil samurai title(like the every other players) with that Militia bloody hand-print emblem on Xbox, and right now, I want the same emblem on my PS3 so bad, much more than any weapons or perk upgrade. :D What's messed up is on an American console Xbox 360, I can put on my (current)favorite clan tag of [¥100] on, but on the Japanese PS3 console, there is no "yen" logo. 👎

I've also used the zero fighter one, and also think the dragon one looks very cool.

P.S. I have to add another CoD funny story. Last night, I jump in the tail end of this one game in quarry. I start out 3-0, feeling pretty good. I encounter this guy coming up to me, I'm feeling pretty good, I go head-to-head with him my knife. He effing owns me, and I end up on the last kill replay, getting sliced in half.

During the replay, Japanese kids are going "OMG" "how cool was that kill!", yada, yada, yada. I'm going "I can understand you, mother truckers....." without the mic, they leave the lobby all excited.

After they leave, these guys(mostly likely Brits) start making fun of the "Japanese", mocking them and again, I'm going "I can understand you, I'm right here, mother trucker.....". So, I changed my clan tag to [Japanese], but to my better judgement, [JPN]. Lobby which was pretty loud until that point just went COMPLETELY silent. I was laughing my butt off.

Edit: You guys wouldn't happen to know how to get that Militia red hand print emblem, do you? Last night, I was up all night trying to acheive it for my PSN account.

I just got nuked. Seriously, this team ****ing sucked.

I just finished SP. What a final mission, I really enjoyed it. :)

The museum is hilarious. I saw the bell popped up a message saying "do NOT press square".... so of course I pressed square. Holy cow that was awesome... and painful!

Oh, I just got PS3 update 3.10 just now. Anybody knows what it does? I read something about better displaying photos. Perfect timing for the holidays. I bet a lot of people use the PS3 to show off family photos. I know I do. They look great on my HDTV set. 👍

Strangely enough it wasn't mentioned in the update notes, but it also includes custom profile colors (go to you profile and there's a little color tab you can open), and the beginning of Facebook integration, making FB work better on the browser and sending Trophy/PS Store Purchases/Game Event data to your FB account.

To set it up, go to Account Management--->Facebook and set up the features you want on, Game Events isn't supported yet (It has to be patched in to Games), but the Trophies and PS Store Updates are working. You need to give them your FB e-mail and password, obviously.

From,
Chris.
