Im trying to repair said damage to my K.D. It is on 1.33 and SHOULD be approaching 1.34. I have just been playing random free for alls and demoltions again.

I have a new class aswell.

'Knifetastic'

Any gun for primary (not heavy), mine is P90.
M9 for pistol (hoping for tactical knife)
Throwing knife
2x Flash
Marathon - unlimited sprint
Lightweight - Move Faster
Commando Pro - Longer knife distance + no falling damage (soon to have tactical knife)
Final Stand

That class is basically only for knifing with the occasional P90 in it. I only use it on Free For All with a good connection, basically it is a fun class that only works with a good connection (no knife lag).
Commando is nice, but I'm not gonna lie, I prefer Ninja Pro(dead silence). I suck so bad at knifing, someone with a plastic disposable knife could own me fairly easily in a knife battle. So with the Ninja Pro, I could actually run to the guy without the dude noticing me, then dropping me while I'm in a panic mode trying to knife the doorpost, refrigerator, etc.

I'm glad you brought up the P90, because I just had one of the best games with it. :sly: It was only 29-6, but the next closest scorers were 11 kills a piece. The game was over so fast, and most of the time, my Predator, air strike, or chopper were crapping from the sky. First time I got the last kill replay with an air strike as well. Only time I stopped moving was when I was calling stuff in on the laptop.

And some of you wouldn't like this(well, no one would), I was the best player on a losing team the previous match(it was very close!). What would the team match making do for the next game? They'd yank me out, give me to the team that just won, of course. I knew I was gonna have a good match, as soon as the teams were put together.
Yesterday when I first played it online, someone used a stealth fighter. Very cool. 👍 Except it was someone from the other team. :p
Did you mean the stealth bomber? I don't think they had the stealth fighter in the game, but I can't remember for sure. Those B2 flyby's are pretty awesome sight though. 👍

Edit: I have couple of questions!

1) When someone on my team get the emergency air drop, I try to give him some cover fire. But often, I see other teammates rush to the boxes, unlocking/activating them themselves. Say we get a Harrier, Sentry, who is rewarded with the kills? As long as you call in the drop, do you get credited with those Harrier kills, etc., regardless of who call them in?

2) I forgot already. It's an old person thing.

Nah, whoever opens the crate gets the kills. Whoever called in the drop can open them about 10x quicker than anyone else though. Fun when you get an Emergency Airdrop and your team rushes to the four boxes. And before any of them can get one, you get get all four.

I am actually pretty good with the knife, I can get 25 kills in a match using my class and only knifing, no gun or anything.

Eric has answered your question correctly also.

Had some fun doing some of the Spec Ops last night with TheCracker. I think we Veteraned the bridge assault, and I think the sniper one.

Good fun, the one with the AC-130 in the air and runner on the ground is fun.

That thing is scary even if it's on your side. You see a big black plane dropping bombs on the map you're like OMG what the hell is that and then you run to cover.

The bridge is a great one with a friend and the AC-130 mission is my personal favorite.

Yeah, we got the bridge one sorted pretty quick on Vet. The AC-130, we got close the first time on Vet (I think we got timed out), but couldn't get near it after that. Still fun though, just wish the big cannon would reload quicker!

Stick with the 40mm cannon and I think you'll find much more success. With a nice even rate of fire, like one to two rounds per sec, you should never experience a forced paused reload and although not as great as the 150mm, it's area of effect is still pretty large. Don't forget to shoot the Hinds out of the sky before they drop their troops too :trouble:.

The weirdest thing just happened last night.. I got the 'All Pro' challenge done last night with a Uzi. All Pro: Headshot 2+ enemies with one bullet

Aye, the 40mm was used pretty much all the time. Useful to switch to the bigger one every now and then though.

Gotcha, suppose I misunderstood a little in thinking you were employing the 150mm just about exclusively. Now that I think about it when a buddy and I completed that mission on Vet I don't recall using the biggun' even once, as you mentioned time is just too precious. Would probably be fun to try it out on an easier level though.

I must have a Model 1887 Shotgun now!

I picked up Akimbo 1887's in Scrapyard and damn is it fun.

Nothing annoys me more than guys running around with akimbo 1887s. You're dead before you even have a chance to hit them, and their range is ridiculous. I swear all the ones I run into have lightweight equipped and probably marathon.

I just hit level 50, pretty awesome. I am getting better scores now and more green connection servers.

Awesome. Thank you for the answer. I think I will just keep trying to watch the guy's back then. I have no interest in cashing in on somebody else's kill streak.

When they drop those boxes or crates, do you have to activate all of them individually? Do they land all in one spot, or are they little bit spread around?

If you are talking about those "Ranger" guns, I use P90 a lot, and I just about break even with those guys. They are fun though. I enjoyed it much more than akimbo P90 for sure.

I'm like 57, no big deal. :sly:

Not the Ranger, although I hate those too. I'm talking about the Model 1887, the big lever action one you get at level 67. They're godly.

Yeah, they kick ass.

On a different note, Icarus, who made your avatar, I want one.

OK, I never select shotguns, but it turned out I was just four kills away from going akimbo on Ranger, so I unlocked it. While I had fun, I had no success. Looks like it's one of those guns that I kill everybody two times with, when I use it as a pickup weapon, but if I take it with me as original equipment, it's the exact opposite. Everybody takes turn killing me, and I finally go back to my regular classes.

The game definitely turned on me, tonight. It was up & down in the beginning, but then, all the way down. I had to laugh when the matchmaking broke up the closely matched team from the previous game, then put me with five other chevron stripes. That was just the beginning, too. My k/d dipped to 1.88, but I think I can comeback. ;)

Hmmm... I seem to be the only one doing this, and I'd like to do a little straw poll if possible.

What sensitivity do you guys use, what is your K/D ratio, and what is your accuracy?

I use sensitivity 1, my K/D is 1.93, and my accuracy is 21.24%. There are two reasons for me using the lowest setting. The first being that I suffer from motion sickness when I Play FPSs sometimes. The second reason is that I think that the higher sensitivities help you to miss the finer details. I also have superior intuition that almost always corrects my aim.

What exactly is 'superior intuition'? Well from my time playing COD4, I've realised that you only need to cover a certain area with your gun. When I watch others on killcam etc, I am amazed how much some people move their sights around. I don't, I religeously keep them within a defined 'batters box'. The 'batters box' is a similar concept to the actual box that a pitcher in baseball has to put the ball into for a strike. The only difference being that my 'batters box' moves depending on my stance and the obstacles that are around me.

Another skill I like to use is 'walking the sights'. I picked this up from the campaign on COD4, after watching the way the guy with the moustache tackeld doorways. I also used to be a member of a full realism clan on AA, that used real world special forces tactics, and we trained rigorously in how to enter any enclosed space, and what to do when we were in that space. In that instance, we had four or five guys. One to open the door and throw in a flash, and the other four to run into preset positions before taking out anyone that might be in the room.

'Walking the sights' is pretty simple, but you need to know exactly the area that you are going to do it in, this includes all possible hidey holes, and areas of cover. Everytime I attempt to enter a closed environment like a room, I will line myself up with the wall outside, crouch and get ready to turn into the the room. The turn covers almost a full 360 degrees, and as I am turning, I trace the contors of the obsticles that I know are in the room or area. I have found that in almost every circumstance, I can get the first bullet on anyone that is in the room using this strategy.

If I have any doubts, or I believe that there is someone in the blind spot, I throw in a flash, then reverse the sweep. Reversing the sweep, is basically starting from the blind spot, and walking the sights until they are in the position you would be facing if you had just walked into the room.

What I have said might sound like a long way of doing things, but I can do it all in just over a second or two, depending on the size of the area I am attempting to clear.

Both on my PS3 & X360 accounts, stats are very similar. K/D is from 1.8 something to 1.9 something. Tend to go up & down. Accuracy is usually one of the lowest on my friends list. I think 14 something %.

On sensitivity, mines is whatever the standard setting is. I played around a bit with it on CoD4, but it feels just right this time around. Until I get pretty desperate, that is. :sly:

Haha... 0.78 here at the moment. Still getting the hang of things though... and adjusting for not having a mouse.

Had a good half dozen or so games last night. Got matched mostly with similar level players and usually had a four-bar connection, which is a good start.

Managed to raise my K/D from .88 to .94 in the space of just those few games too. After initially having a decent positive K/D when i began playing the game and was playing cautiously, it had soon dropped to about .80 when i began to explore the maps more. I think with so many advantageous perks and killstreaks compared to CoD4, you really need to play MW2 with much more caution, patrolling smaller areas of the map instead of making epic cross-country campaigns where you think the grass might be greener.

After an appalling weekend (except the fun Spec-Ops session with Sureboss) i'm now back down to the .90 mark and getting very frustrated :banghead:

Some of it is down to me finishing my SCAR kills (1000?) and swapping to a new unfamiliar gun, and some of it is just down to me sucking. It's weird though, i'll be playing against the same group of people and in one match finish, say, 16-7 then the very next game just get totally hammered 3-12. I'm starting to think that some of the killstreak rewards, especially the Pave Low, are influencing the game too much. I played Afghan yesterday and got killed by the same chopper 4 or 5 times within about 30 seconds, twice within milliseconds of re-spawning, i just couldn't get to cover.

I think the increased amount of air-attack killstreaks is forcing more and more people to camp in fear of just getting wasted by choppers and Harriers over and over again. 👎

I did, however, manage to get flattened by my own care package last night :dunce:

What sensitivity do you guys use, what is your K/D ratio, and what is your accuracy?

My KDR dropped a bit after a few terrible days, but only to 1.27, accuracy is 20.12% (last I checked), and sensitivity varies on how well I'm controlling the crosshairs that game. (8-10)

From,
Chris.

I have not played online in a few days, but the last time I did, I had something similar happen to me on multiple occasions. Spawning closely to the same location near a helicopter is a multiple death sentence and incredibly annoying, especially if the spawn area is one with very little cover. In that same game, I died multiple times in row because I was killed in a fashion that amounted to spawn camping. Why the game would continue to spawn me in the same exact spot after two or three deaths is beyond me.

The 105mm (and it is a 105 rather than a 150mm - one of these in fact) on the AC-130 can be used well even on Vet, its got a few advatages the 40 and 25 don't have.

It gives you a much larger view of the area and allows to then target 'future' trouble, and the damage it does can take out a good 10 targets on its own.

I tend to use it to clear an area out and switch straight to the 40mm for most work, using the 25mm for 'danger close' situations (because nothing ruins a good run more than a big fat shell on your guys head.

Used sparingly the 105mm never gives you reloading issues and can turn the tide very quickly indeed.

Just went 27-6 in TDM at Wasteland. I did a free for all there earlier, and hated it. Works well in Teams though. My Harrier strike was lethal, when the last one hanged around, I must've got 6-7 kills easily.

The EXACT same thing happened to me. I got the 10 kills needed for Akimbo and everytime I tried to use it I got owned, its so frustrating.

Damn, your sensitivity is low, really low. However, your stats are quite high. I have a 1.32 K.D (went down from 1.40 on the weekend after a really bad streak), 18.4% accuracy and rising fast and about 1day and 3 hours gameplay. I am level 51. I used to play CoD4 on 3 sensitivity but then the no scope phase came in and to do 360's etc you need to set it to at LEAST 6 sensitivity. I used to use 6 and I found that you dont get owned from behind as much because you can spin around much faster. On MW2 I tried 6 but I wasnt working for me so I went down to 5 which is fine. I think it will stay on 5 for a while.
