Can we expect 24 hour Le mans race in GT5?

@VB, I think it is just in PD's blood to use proper names for tracks. Kind of like how they use Cote de Azur for Monaco. They still have to have the license they just use the proper name where as T10 uses the more commonly known name.

Except Cote D'Azur is not the official name of the circuit. It's the "Circuit de Monaco." Someone else mentioned it, but Cote D'Azur refers to that riviera itself, not the track. It seems PD didn't get the license for the track so they included Cote D'Azur as a real location like Citta D'Aria, Seattle, and the Paris levels. It seems it's fair game since Monaco is composed entirely of real roads that are actively used daily, so essentially it's just a track using the roads of the coast in Monaco, not necessarily "Circuit de Monaco" although obviously it is the F1 track. Something interesting about the track though is that it's noticeably wider than the real track. Maybe that was done for licensing reasons or maybe it was just to make the track less difficult.

I don't know why you think that would happen. In previous GTs we were able to race any car on any circuit, I highly doubt that will change for GT5. Also, if Turn10 officially licensed the 24 Heures du Mans event, then I'm sure they would be flaunting that license about.

What i'm saying is i'm afraid that the game won't include 2009 Lemans cars.

Cote de Azur is the name of a big part of the French southern coast though (French Riviera). Is the Monte Carlo track called this during any real race(s)? Strange name if true. Also, slightly off topic, how many race weekends/events do Monaco have a year?
The track used in the Monaco GP is called the Circuit de monaco. I should imagine that this is one of the few tracks PD did not need a license to use the track layout for since the track is all public roads. To use the layout and the Monaco or Circuit de Monaco names associated with the specific layout however may have required a license. Therefore there is little point in paying to use a name whensimply calling Cote D'Azure for free perfectly suffices.

As far as I'm aware this is the only track in GT4 that doesn't use the tracks real name.

The main reason for this is that there are no tire-walls in the locations where they normally are, also, as PD did not take photo's during a grand prix weekend so the positioning of the guardrails in respect to the street curbing is not precise, along with the type of apex used on the track.

Only one, but what your saying is defeating the objective of the point made, you've failed to make much sense. I dont know if this was what you intended to do but it comes across as fanboy-ish

"fanboy-ish"

Why? I dont own a 360 and have never played Forza 1 2 or 3. I do not have any intentions to do so.

"Failed to make sense"

How? Justin said that Cote de Azur was the real name of the circuit, i have never heard it called that before so i asked the question.

I was not trying to discredit anybody with my post i was just trying to find out the name of the course on race day. I think you need to chill with your accusations.

PS.Thanks to everyone with the answers.

If its done(though its more likely when), it would be nice to see appropriate era cars racing,
Its all fine and well having LMp's and GT classes but I dont like to see early 90's cars racing the likes of the R10 or 908,
some people might want to see the McClaren,Bentley and Merc's running but I always found it dissapointing to see these older cars racing with the newer ones(not becasue I dont like the cars, I do), but in reality these older cars probably couldnt fight with the new cars
Unfortuneatley it looks like Forza may have gained the license to most of the modern LMps and GT cars(Mazda,Porsche, etc), so whether we see them in GT5 is questionable, but heres hoping!

Old car from late "90 are faster than car from "09 on Mulsanne straight Toyota GT one (99) goes 352 km/h and Peugeot 908 HDI FAP goes just 306 km\h in "09!!! I know that new car are faster in corner(they have more downforce) so lap times are similar... Also McLaren F1 GT-R from "96 goes 337 km\h look at wikipedia.....

If you decide to run the full race, just have a controller backup ready and charged..quick pause, and then continue.

I think the most I could do in one sitting is 4 hours though.

Thats surprising,
That said I still dont want to see old generation cars racing new generation cars, it just dosnt seem to look or feel right to me

for really long tracks and races... you need lots of cars ontrack, or else things will get boring... especially with mixed class races. Multi lap races on the nurburgring are lots of fun with 35 or so multiclass cars on the track. same w/ le mans...

Well then they should make different Le man races(Le mans "80, Le mans "90 and Le mans "00-"05, Le mans "06-"09....)💡
