The only reason to makes me want Porsches in GT6:

Haven't you heard of racing softs. Lol.

You know you have played Gran Turismo too much when...

(Putting slick tyres on an ordinary car isn't a wise move because you will break down it's chassis and framework much faster than usual, because you are exposing the car to more G-Forces than the manufacturer intended)

It just happened today that Porsche joins VW? Wow I have never cared of Porsche so much, the last time I saw them, they were still like Lamborghini and Skoda, just under the VW-Audi group, and now VW owns many.

Now I think all of the VW license is under EA and we will never see a Lamborghini, Audi, and Audi again (did I miss any?).

Although I think it's a 50-50 chance between this and VW changing the terms of agreement with EA and Porsche. Or it will be just like Ferrari and Microsoft, where despite the different exclusivity of the Fiat Group license (Fiat, Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo), it is more exclusive to just one brand.

If they could just put in a Ruf that is tuned to be equal to the GT3 RSR (in other words, a Ruf *race car* or RM) then I would be happy.

EA/Microsoft have the rights to the manufacturers, individually. VAG & the Fiat Group's subsidiaries are not licensed as a package.

I hope GT6 has Porsche in the game but i dont think it will happen and was it not a secret car in GT3 like the Lamborghini.

I can scarcely see the chance of Porsches added to GT6 :(
So premium Rufs would fill my appetite nicely, or possibly, even better, the 9ff GT9 :D

I want Porsche in GT6 too, but that seems unlikely, with EA using them in Need For Speed titles, which is going through a recovery phase. But premium RUFs is a must-have, if Porsche can't make it.

Porsche + Gran Turismo Time Line

-2007 SEMA auto show; Porsche is not in yet. Ferrari is in and Lamborghini is a "maybe".

-May 2008; Porsche hasn't been contacted yet, but Kaz believes they'll have Porsche in Gran Turismo 5 Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Yamauchi commented, “We’ll have most - no, all of the major manufacturers.”
When pushed to further clarify on the possibility of the Porsche brand appearing in Gran Turismo 5, he simply stated, “probably.”

-October 2008; Kaz has spoken with Porsche and damage is O.K. with them. Negotiations could occur because contracts with other parties had ended. Porsche (that’s right… Porsche) have stated that they do not have a problem with their cars being damaged in the game. From Ahmed: Kaz's response to Lamborghini and Porsche: "the thing is we are working on it , because like the porsche have some contracts with other games manufacturer, and those contracts has just ended so its possible for us now to negotiate."

-August 2009 (GamesCom); Porsche will likely not appear in Gran Turismo 5, signing an exclusive deal elsewhere.

-March 2010 Porsche 918 Spyder apparently running Gran Turismo PSP's navigation map. Nothing becomes of it.

-April 2010 (interview with Auto Express) Are there any car makers that won’t be appearing in GT5 that you’d like to see in GT6?

GT5 will have a few historic models in it, but looking back at automotive history there are a lot of cars that would be nice to have. I couldn’t narrow it down to one manufacturer, but Porsche is definitely at the top of my wish list.

-July 2012 (Spanish PS Blog) Kazunori responds to user-based question. Will we someday see Porsche in GT? Kazunori responds by saying "We can't say no."

Here's a little timeline for you to catch up on the Porsche saga.

I respond by saying: If you don't want to shuffle out HUGE money for the Porsche license, at least make good use of the RUF license. Forza used it well and so did Driver: San Francisco.

Many a man has mentioned it on these forums but I too agree; we need premium RUFs and we need new RUFs; the RXL, RGT-8, RT-12, CTR3, Dakara etc

What are the chances that we see Porsche in GT6?

I read somewhere that Porsche's exclusivity license with EA expired, hence why they are now in Forza, so why not in GT6? Hell, why not DLC for GT5?

Lets not forget about the Pagani Huayra

The license didn't expired. This is confirmed. EA has still the exclusiv Porsche license and Turn10 only made an agreement with EA.

Why not is a good question. Some possible reasons

- Sony are not willing to buy a sub-license
- Sony don't care about Porsche or the request for Porsche from the community
- EA don't want to make an agreement

I gotta plan. Porsche are joining le mans soon so why don't polyphony sponsor Porsche, get in their good side, then when EA lose the license (they don't even use it to its full potential!) polyphony will maybe get 1st dibs and maybe at a reduced rate thanks to sponsoring. Go on Sony, its worth a shot.

Yeah...no. Porsche have extended their contract with EA several times. They're not going to "lose" it any time soon.

Sounds good 👍 When does that license expire? EA games are all 🤬 anyway, I would have thought Porsche would be looking for an opportunity to jump ship...

Off-topic; I see you enjoyed that part of the opening ceremony too ;)

People keep on saying "When EA Loses the License". I remember years back when I was a mod at EA one of the dev team members said something to me about the EA/Porsche contract being like a 100 year contract.

I have to imagine EA tossing them big piles of money that Sony likely isn't willing to give would be worth more to Porsche than a partial sponsorship on a factory Porsche car.

Particularly not when there are other companies who would line up to sponsor a factory-backed Porsche race car and EA would happily pay for the Porsche licence.

Probably 10 years. I also wouldn't be surprised if it had an extension clause built into it.

I'm sure that VW will get out of it somehow now that they have fully taken over. It may not be in time to include any cars in GT6, but keeping them locked in to one publisher is like Billy Joel signing a lifetime contract, a mistake.

Now that VW owns 100% of Porsche,

that contract EA must be teared up.

Porsche will be free very soon (hopefully).

No. I think VW bought Porsche before it was confirmed that the contract will not expire soon.

And contracts aren't automatically void just because one of the parties in the contract changed management anyway.

Even if they did get the Porsche license, they probably wouldn't use it to it's full potential. They certainly didn't represent Ferrari all that well, most models in GT5 are quite modern, with just the F40, 512BB and 330 P4 to represent Ferrari's rich history.

550 Spyder? 917? 956? 1973 Carrera RS? Too obscure for Kaz, in fact I'm led to believe he's just a GT40 guy.

This.

They never get something right, If Kaz secures Porsche, Im sure we will only get a 911 (maybe 2 versions of it) and cheaper hair dresser porsche. Oh, I forgot the Porsche which was in GT3. Sure that one would return too.

To the OP:
I think they are quite low. They didn`t even cared to give us a premium Ruf for GT5, do you really think they will give us several premium Porsches in GT6?

Honestly if PD could give me the 365 and few 911 it doesn't even have to be newer Porsche's they're all very fine cars. :)
