That is such a cool thing to do.

I hope they make this car handle better then the C6 does in the game.

Regarding the "bland" desert scenery on Willow Springs.
That might be favorable to GT5 given the PS3's RAM constraints.
Some of the previous GT5 updates removed some track eye candy.
Some other thread postings have attributed that as an effort to reduce drag on the system.

Not sure about what you mean but IRL Willow Springs is bland too and I think that it only got better, if you Nurb in 1.00 and now, you'll see a big difference in lightning.

Yes it is extremely cool!

I will crap my pants if the C7 does not handle better than the C6 in the game.

I don't think PD agrees that the Vette should beat the GT-R, and refuses to let it happen. We shall see..

When the new C7 is matched against the GT-R, if the C7 wins but GT5 does not reflect that... well, let's just say we know who has been paying PD's bills *cough*NISSAN*cough* :sly:

What about the C6 ZR1... I don't give a damn how much electronic BS you have in a car it doesn't make the tires hold any more lateral G's.

How does a fat ass GT-R corner so well compared to a ZR1?

There's no such thing as "beat" when comparing cars of similar specifications. Depending on the track, driver and setup there will never be "the one" winner. Be it in the real or virtual world.

Whether you give a damn or not, it makes quite a lot of difference.

I just hope the 2014 C7 download in GT5 can be modified with parts and aero kits... I would *love* a 750+ BHP, 1200kg track-shredding all-new Corvette, with custom paint and body kit

Can anyone confirm this? I can't get to my PS3 right now.

All I mean't was that the lack of scenery would probably make it GT5/PS3 friendlier, if it were to be made available for GT5.

As for Willow Springs track, I have been there in real life, its a barren place, so no criticism was intended.

PD modeled the Vette to lose, quite the opposite of real life.

PD didn't model anything to lose or win on purpose, they just modeled it to the data they had on hand. Granted, PD was all over the GT-R, but Kaz loves cars wearing badges other than Nissan.

The "fatass" goes well around the corner because it has a computerized four wheel drive system that makes Physics blush. The Corvette has the tried and true lightweight (compared to the GT-R) and pure grunt to throw it around. On paper the Corvette should win, but in reality it's a bit tougher to achieve its potential compared to the GT-R. 4WD can really make something into a rocket if implemented properly. Where the GT-R loses out on top end due to weight and bulk the 4WD makes up for it in insane grip levels.

No one can really confirm until tomarrow. Maybe or maybe not, we won't know until then.

The article I read says the free C7 Corvette download is available at the Playstation Store beginning January 14. Today is January 14. Am I missing something?

EDIT: nevermind, the article got the date wrong. The article is dated January 14 and the download will be made available "tomorrow January 14th" instead of January 15th. Plus there's a comment that says "Fail... tomorrow is the 15th" Hahahaha :)

How much does a GT-R weigh, and what are the HP torque specs?

PD modeled the Vette to lose, quite the opposite of real life.

So what are you smoking today? :odd:

Car isn't even out yet and we're already spouting off comments about how PD will purposely model the C7 to be slower than a GT-R "because Nissan".

Please.

When did I say pd was going to purposely model the corvette C7 in a certain way.. Please show me. Why don't you go do some more ludicrous car comparisons.

:dunce:

Thats going off a real comparison, the C6 vs the GT-R.

Notice the we shall see part?

......

Its like I have to argue for your side also, because your so bad at it.

Minor nitpick here, but from the trailer I noticed that the Vette is in Sport Mode instead of Track Mode:

Chevrolet
Exclusively for track driving, Track Mode is designed for legitimate race settings. Launch control provides maximum off-the-line acceleration. Steering effort and Magnetic Ride damping adjust to provide maximum responsiveness. Performance Traction Management is enabled. Throttle progression optimizes for track performance. Gauge cluster configuration offers a C6.R race-inspired display complete with lap timer.

It's really not that big of a deal to be honest, but assuming PD has knowledge of the performance difference in driver modes (e.g. the modern Ferraris display Race Mode and the Aventador displays Corsa), the C7 should receive the same treatment.

Definitely still downloading tomorrow though. A truly gorgeous BEAST. Bravo Chevy :D

Point is it shouldn't even have been brought up. It's a ridiculous notion.

I really do take you for a fool. You compare Miata's to Brand new Corvettes, and you think that me making a comment about the C6 being unrealistically worse at cornering than a GT-R (because it is in the game) and hoping the same isn't true for the C7 isn't a valid comment? Your not one to tell people what they should comment on.

You sir, are ridiculous.
