That is quite a bit of body work though they have to do, though. Probably are charging a little for the Callaway name as well.

Good point, they are altering the roofline. Add to it that they're doing it in carbon fibre and the price seems justified.

There isn't any real modification made to the body, all they are doing is add the wagon style rear hatch.
Q: Where does the AeroWagon hatch begin and end? Is the car still a targa top?
A: The car retains its original Corvette targa top. The AeroWagon bodywork is located in the original Corvette hatch area and utilizes the OEM latch mechanism.

And it's $15K not $10K, that a lot of money for just a wagon hatch.

Well, that didn't take long..

Saw my first C7 on the street today. Looks amazing in person. It's been a long time since my jaw has dropped for a car. Stunning.

me and my dad's came off the line today at 1pm ...should have it next wednesday/thursday (hopefully)

it was supposed to have been built and here weeks ago but there was a quality issue with the carbon roof option we ordered..

anyway it is exactly like this guys but carbon roof and the black painted mirrors and spoiler

Trading in the GTR or is this just a new toy?

God no never that. Im GTR for life. All due respect to the C7 but thats a big step backwards if you had to choose between the two. Me and my dad who has always been a big corvette guy are getting it together. Im gonna use it for some AutoX and a few track events as he is gonna use it more as just sunday cruiser around town car and ( he is the stereotypical older vette guy)

Hopefully it will show up end of the week. I had hoped to run it sunday in my next autoX event but it might be best to put a few miles on it first. So might not have any run videos until Nov event

will be sure to post pics and a review when it arrives

Does the Vette hood not crumple since it's a forward hinge?

It doesn't matter whether the hood is front or rear hinged, it can still crumple as long as it is designed in a way that allows it to crumple. In a collision situation, the hinge versus the latch are just slightly different ways of securing a opening piece of metal down and transferring energy to that equally as to other body structures.

How is it a big step backwards, if we are talking about the plain Vette which is actually for the mid aged crisis or young up and comer who wants speed but not too expensive sure it could be called a step back. Though the GTR is in a completely different class, the Vette doesn't become Superman until it puts on the cape with a big Z07 tag or ZR1 on it and then it is on par with the GTR easily.

no the guy just asked me if i was trading in the GTR for the Z51 C7 we have coming.. meaning giving up one for the other... in that situation it would be a step backwards for me

Apparently the silver one had been given to a guy who does detailing for customer cars.. And he somehow managed to roll it.

I just recently saw a white C7 with polished or chrome wheels on my way down to San Antonio. They're so exotic looking but still keep the classic Vette nostalgia IMO. Even from a far distance as I was the C7 is so exotic and pictures can't do them justice.

I also 100% agree with that. They look ok in picture but the minute I saw one on the street I looked like this:

My cousin just posted this from Newport, CA. Looks great.

I'm beginning to think in my eyes, this is the best exterior combo. for the car. But, even then, I think the interior is best thing about the new 'Vette.

Oy.. How is this even possible?

A prospective customer at a ride-and-drive event in Texas today put a brand new 2014 Chevy Impala into a row of brand new 2014 Corvettes, significantly damaging at least three of the vehicles. Oops.

Black wheels with that red combo would make it even better. Would look so sick. That is an excellent angle of that car too.

More info and pics....

The eyewitness tipster and person behind the camera also shared the following information about the accident with the site:

"The individual responsible was a special needs person that had a driver's license SOMEHOW. But he made two Laps inside the parking area and took out 2 Vettes and 2 impalas. He claimed to have had a diabetic shock. But witness says he had a very deranged look on his face and he knew what he was doing. Needless to say he walked off without any fines or charges against him AND the free t shirt for driving the cars."

There is a video but it's private but these are some screenshots from it few more pics on the link above ^

I drove one today at none other than a Ride and Drive event here in Texas. Not sure which one the accident happened at. I can get a few pictures up if anyone is interested. I was a bit rushed in the experience.
