i just realized ... if only it were 24 hours and not 24 days ... i'd surely be in drunky monkey heaven if it were

Right! Logic dictates the countdown is to when the game first goes on sale. Not for the thread creator's timezone, no disrespect intended SS. If you want to be that way about it, being GTPlanet is based out of Kentucky in the US, why not make that the countdown timezone? Well that doesn't make sense either, if Kenthcky is in the Central timezone.

Gran Turismo 5 will "officially" go on sale first in the US at 12 midnight in the Eastern timezone, GMT -4.

^ those are the best GT's on their respective systems, so if the trend continues as such, GT6 will be worlds above GT5 just as GT2 and 4 were worlds above GT1 and 3. 2,4,6...

What's with everyone posting random cars and somehow relating the number/car to the number of days left? I realize that the car is from the 24hours of Nurb, but you guys are killing the SIMPLE idea of this thread. Post something with the number of corresponding days left. It's going to start getting to the point where people are posting some mini van saying "I thought about the drives I would have in this beautiful Renault F1 people carrier 15 times !! So that has something to do with 15 days left right?!?"

Counter on the first page says 25 days. What are you on about?

Now do you see what I'm on about?

My maths may be a little iffy but I believe we are now in the the final 1% of the wait.

Close: 2135 days between GT4's earliest release date (12.28.04) and GT5's earliest. So Monday :)

(EDIT) A Donor beat me to the punch.

Any news if GT5 is in certification right now? I am praying there are no last minute hic-ups which will cause delay. Once I hear word, thats when I will feel better!

I'm pretty sure it has already went gold, they just didn't feel like they needed to announce it though, and the word is reviewers should be getting their copies after next week.

I hope so! The review better be in Game Informer! I subscribed to it and all the reviews are from old games

Kentucky is in the Eastern time zone. So it is in the first time zone where the game will be released.

It's going to feel a bit like New Years eve when this game is released.
