Finally gave this a try today.

This car and this combo is one annoying combination.

Although slower I think it will stick with trying various different cars at the le mans 30 mins, nowhere near as lucrative but much more enjoyable.

Fair play for those who found the tunes to get this to work.
Get on the Spa 1 hour. Pretty easy 1.5 million credits and a nice change.

That is a good payout and a great track to grind too.

Is the clean race bonus guaranteed as Tokyo and le mans are?

Pretty much. Don’t think it’s quite as forgiving but every win I’ve got it with a few bumps and bangs. The weather is the thing you need to watch and it changes race to race. Usually starts about lap 9 rains for about 9 laps then sometimes dry till the end, sometimes not. Sometimes very short showers sometime biblical rain

A couple of questions.

1. I believe I'm using the original tune where the first 3 gears are unusable. This is fine most of the time, but sometimes I slow down under the 36 mph 4th gear minimum and it's quite hard to get it out of 1st/2nd/3rd (I use auto and a controller). Is it possible to modify the trans where it's more normal and still keep this tune under regulations?

2. My oil is quite bad, but I'm assuming that changing it will put me over the PP limit. Should I just leave it, or change it and try to modify the tune settings?

Sorry for the n00b questions.

It's "probably" the root cause that PP is glitched. (In an interview they said the PP is calculated from a simulated race on a circuit where AI performs time attack, and if the AI can't shift to the 4th gear ...)

So probably it's a good chance to practice manual shifting. And it's already easier than normal cars ... (only 3~4 usable gears and you don't even need to downshift to get decent acceleration)

In my experience it almost don't affect PP. I always change oil when it become the third state (Yellow, Worn? not sure the translation), and doing my tunes on second state (Light green/Normal), they never suddenly become unable to use.

Ran it once. No penalties or collisions in the last 7 laps. No clean race bonus.

LM is very harsh on the 4 wheels off DQ'ing the CRB.

First time I tried this on intermediate’s (on a mix of partially a failed RH tune from one YT video with parts of another IM tune from YT). I only did 1 race (with a 3-stop strategy) and a lot of bumps into the walls but I feel I can take this down to a 2-stop strategy and fewer bumps.

First impression from the IM tires compared to being used to dozens of RH races pre-1.13 is that the first lap is ooh-so-much-easier-and-faster on IM compared to RH. I also get a lot more wheelspin, I guess that‘s the reduced grip from the IMs. So I’ll need to manage the throttle a bit more rather than the reckless flat out behaviour I did before. And it’ a also a tiny bit more difficult to get into 4th gear if you dropped below it (I race on automatic transmission). Ill see how that progresses, maybe I’ll give manual a try but im really lazy when it comes down to farming. 😅 For the rest this IM build feels like the car is more powerful, slightly less but still very grippy, and steering is a little bit more sensitive. I think this is just the getting used to stage, as that earlier RH tune was also a struggle in the beginning.

Anyway, im actually pretty glad they failed to patch this. I probably don’t use this as much as you guys (I basically ignore every car on the LCD from 10 mill upwards and only take the ones between 5 & 10 mill that I really want. Most cars below 5 mill I’ll grab. Im also completely ignoring brands central for now, apart from the invitational cars. Not that I mind this much, the classics is where its at for me. 😎
If you want to be really lazy, switch to MT and put the car in 7th gear and leave it there. I'm not sure what your HP is at, but im around 2300. I use fuel 6 on lap 1, fuel 5 on lap 2 and fuel 4 for the rest of the race. I don't pit even on IM, brake bias front 4 is more than enough to account for less grip on the worn front IMs.

I just don't see the need to pit with the Tomahawk to change the tires, even fully worn IMs. Between the drier track on laps 8-12 and the fact that the car generates so much downforce at 230mph+, I don't lack for grip.

If you want to go faster, as you will have fuel left over using the above gear and fuel mapping, you can drop into 6th gear for better acceleration out of T1/T2 and the hairpin and then shift to 7th gear when you are around 11k rpm in 6th.

The issue wasn't fixed. The "fix" was a side effect of the overall increase in PP levels due to the increase in grip. The Tomahawk's issue is different and still being worked on, it seems.

Another easy way to fix it would be by forcing Sport tires and limiting power to 591 bhp.

Guys, use this advice:
No ballast, just reducing power to 90 for both limiters and changing 1st gear ratio worked for me.
With the new physics the car is so good. My TB is 1:02. Can do sub 1:16s if I do a clean race.

edit

by good I mean not as terrible.

Now that we have Spa 1 hr I’m quite happy to grind that so don’t really care what they do with it now.

@R3V I get that, I’m just enjoying the Spa race where as Tokyo was becoming a drag. I usually do spa, Le Mans, Sardegna and a Tokyo in rotation. Keeps it from going stale for me.

If you find it hard to kick into 4th gear , wiggle your steering. It will usually push it 4th gear.
change oil will only affect the HP.

Just to clarify for the 1hr Spa race the clean race bonus is only guaranteed if you don't hit any of the other cars whilst overtaking them the first time.

Once you are lapping them and they have blue flags it's like Tokyo and LeMans but it can be tricky to get to that point.

I have ran this race seven/eight times and only failed the clean race bonus once at Spa.

I was having this problem, however it was pointed out (don't remember who, but tyvm again) that you can change the shifting to manual, even if you are using an auto trans. Its in one of the options before starting the race.

There is absolutely no need for the lower gears. Most of the time 4th is not usable either, other than the 0-14,000 rpm in 1.5 seconds. I only use 4th on the last turn, and thats only in the last 7 laps because unless you can drive sideways, theres no point.

This new tune is brutal. My best time before the fix was 1:25.xxx now I am getting the last split time at 1:08 but penalties are killing it for me. Yesterday I was well over 2 minutes penalties. Okay some were from driving mad, but still...

How about gittin gud instead?
So... you can make 3.2m cr./hour without this?

Most of us will would win at just under 28 minutes. that would be 1.6m /hour. So, lets just say I am skeptical that you can do just as well by "gittin gud".

The first tune @zacscy put up is pretty good on intermediate tyres. PP level is 576

The glitch still works keep same transmission setting then set both power limiters to 90% then add 3 ballast then boom 594 pp
One can keep 100% on both limiters and adding ballast 1 by 1 changes wildly the PP. Moving from 15 to 16 goes 1315 to 599.93

I even plotted the first 60 kg of ballast. It doesn't make any sense. The empty areas is where PP goes ⚠️

So actually have to becareful, not a problem. I assume it would be quite frustrating to lose so much cash with a bump towards the end of the hour but that is how the bonus is meant to work I guess.

Yup, that's what happened actually, one time I came upon Fraga litterrally parked at the bottom of the hill going up from the pit lane, no way to avoid him so bang went the clean race bonus.

My car of choice btw is the Pennzoil GTR-500, everything fitted and Racing Medium tyres when not raining. Usually take the lead by end of Lap 4 and after that it's an easy win usually unless the rain comes late in the race.

R3V
That's 33% less payout, though. If I'm driving the tomahawk I'm doing it strictly for the credits. I've found a rhythm with Tokyo and just listen to podcasts while grinding.
Exactly, the whole time worried about clean race bonus, no thanks. I can do the Tokyo Expressway in like 18 mins. 1hr grind is 2.5 mil for me.

I am good. I did it about five times with the Huracan before saying screw this and hopping over to the Tomahawk. I work 55 hours a week and just want to bang through the race a few times a day after work instead of spending ~175% of the time so I can spend the rest of the time I play buying and hotlapping cars I actually enjoy.

or just, dont ""fix"" it
I think they want tuning back in online races(who knows why) so they'll work on fixing it.

I found this one. Good for 2500hp and Racing Hards
Thank you very much. Had some problems applying the tune, until I found out toe on front has to be positiv!
