Is the Viper really the best car for B? I tried is first then found all the top guys were using it. I then tried the Mustang and although I am slightly slower in it I find it easier to be consistent, but is that the car or the fact I've been practicing??? Anyway off to walk the dog as it's getting dark then I'm going to dust of the GT-R and see if I do better or worse in a 4WD here.

You’ll be heading to Laguna Seca, the game’s most recently added circuit, for a three-lap race in your choice of Toyota. We’d recommend not trying to drift the Corkscrew.

@Famine you occasionally seem to work these witty little jabs into these articles and they kill me every time.

If you're not in the top splits, it probably doesn't super matter which car you are in. The Viper was quick the last time this combo was up, but one lap speed was better in one of the FF cars -- I liked the Audi TT. I'm sure it is the same this week.

Last Race C at DTS, the GT-R was the sleeper. Towards the end of the week, it was another choice to win.

Atenza was damn quick. An RCZ set an FL of 47.1 in that race. The TT I followed, was fast, even with me in the slipstream( Good corner exit acceleration). Megane is stable and fast.

I'm sure players will work out a few alternatives. Maybe the 458, Viper, NSX, Veyron(maybe?), will pop up as choice rides.

I did my try all of them on a Monday tonight.
All are fun.
Being currently SR B my Race A room contained a plethora of higher rated drivers. Made up a few places. Got shoved off wide once but otherwise was able to pass a couple including this sweet overtake around the outside of the last corner.

Finished in 8th in the middle of a 10 second sandwich. Unfortunately due to being shoved and an accidental (I swear) cut at the Corkscrew once I ended with a Red B at the end of the race. (The rest was clean:guilty:)

On to race B.
Got in my Viper and was able to follow a fellow Brit through the mild chaos ahead. Was going through the COD by just lifting for the second part. This enabled me to get a decent run on one guy through the tunnel and make an easy pass before the next corner. Was up to 7th from 10th and that's where I could have stayed if not for lap 3... :nervous:
Turned probably too early for the COD and bounced into the outside wall. And then the car decided to spin in disgust. Down to 12th. The car obviously was still annoyed at me as she decided to understeer at every corner for the final lap. Managed to just finish ahead of the guy behind. I think this is where I'll spend most of my time this week. Definitely have more to give here.

Race C.
It's fun to wrestle these cars around a track not suited for them. Being patriotic and having a soft spot for Jags I took the purple guy for a spin. (Thankfully not literally)
It wasn't the best under braking so I decided to go -1 on the brakes. (Usually sit on 0 all the time.) A marked improvement but could still drift into understeer. My meagre effort was enough for 15th on the grid. Race went o.k. Passed a few guys making mistakes. Then a Spaniard who went off after the banked curve decided he didn't like me passing him and used me as a brake for the hairpin. He got 2 seconds and an Italian passed me.
My process for this race was to let anyone faster past and pick of those making mistakes. This was quite successful. Except for one German who hit me every time he passed me. There was no need for it as there was always plenty of space. He had a mare of a last lap and I was able to pass him up the hill on the final lap. I had to sit behind the guy he had collided with going down into the hill. I placed myself towards the outside so I wouldn't hit them. This allowed the German to tap me into the wall. He then went wide at the next right and I was able to get alongside. But I had a bit of a squiggle coming out of the corner and he just beat me. Of course he didn't get a penalty. Though someone else did get one and I finished 12th.
I might go back in the Sauber later on in the week, but this will be a case of the other races might be better.

Have fun out there guys.

What's the point of having tyre wear and fuel if it makes no odds? Last week you had a choice pit or skate around for the last lap or so and that's brilliant, it adds an extra dimension to the race, it can be through tyres or fuel, give us just enough so we need to pit if we drive too hard, anything just put something that you have to think about in there.

Personally, I agree. If you want to make it worthwhile, force us to pit. Brands Hatch a couple of weeks ago required 2 tire compounds to be used.

I'm sure players will work out a few alternatives. Maybe the 458, Viper, NSX, Veyron(maybe?), will pop up as choice rides.

As much as I just ran away from the Supra, I might give that a go. I'll also try its little brother, the 86.

Don't tell anyone else, but the Jag is the go to non-FF at DTS.

no doubt the Viper is extremely fast at DTS

I have never owned it - bought specifically to try it and knocked 0.8 off my PB instantly. On the S section (before CoD) simply blows away the TTs to the extent that I gave up a 2s penalty (courtesy of their barging) and re overtook them next lap

may try the F type next after what D_Dragline has said

Huracan’s been holding up okay, but the Jag is no doubt faster

I will probably race Seaside this evening.
Last time it was a TT fest then some switched to Viper later in the week but TT was the go to.
I ran the 458 all week but it’s tough to get the most out of.
I didn’t try the Jag last time.

Jaguar au

Jaguar surely.

Are you moth#$%^¥£@÷ kidding. What an absolute joke. 4 contacts in one race, literally nothing I could do, absolutely nothing, hit from behind twice, once three cars fell apart at cod and road was blocked and once a guy changed line under brakes at last second.

And I am reset.

That is just absolutely ridiculous. Not good enough PD, seriously, firstly the loss of sr on race B is insane vs the pote trial gain and weco day if I am getting sr loss for being hit up the rear, what on earth am I supposed to do.

What an absolute, certifiable joke. Incompetent.

Man I’ve never grinded out dailies so hard as since Saturday when I got reset... it’s not my thing and I don’t like to build my DR like that. But from 15k to 32k in just over 48 hours, running any number of different races... stoked to cap off the run to A Rating again with a pole/clean race/win at Race B in the TT at DTS!!

I think I got positive DR in every race. Was interesting racing at 35, 45 SR... what a piranha pit... but there are fast guys throughout. It’s interesting.

Most cars within a second. Tough to pass when everyone are pretty equal in all types of cars.

Atenza ahead of me, took a dive on the TT after the Larini kink, on the last lap. Wasn't a clean pass by that Atenza, but I followed it through. It kept swerving all race as to intimidate the TT into a mistake. Wasn't happening. It was messing up my braking points.
It brushed the COD on exit and gave me a run. Of course that player took the inside and I stayed outside. knowing full well it was going to either run me wide or brake early. I hit the brakes early, but the TT exacted its revenge on the other Atenza. I got a slight side shove, but not off track. Just enough for the TT to jump the other Atenza and slow our AWD exit acceleration.

Felt like saying something to the other Atenza. Well, no CRB for me...

I’m doing Race B so far this week. Everything was great until I came up against someone in a Corvette who clearly hadn’t driven it before. Starting in the spot in front of me on the grid, twice it got away from the driver. The first time I took evasive action in the eases and copped a penalty for hitting the wall. The second time he spun in front of me and I clipped him just before he ghosted and entered the sand. 4 secs. SR dropped to 82.

I went into the drop split with nothing but SR recovery in mind. Unfortunately a complete peanut divebombed me at the right hander after the kink and pinballed me into the car in front. 4 second penalty. After serving the penalty on lap 2 I was 14/16 and coming out of the COD I again had to take evasive action to avoid someone who had seemingly stopped on the final apex. Clipped the wall, 1 sec penalty. I also caught the divebomber out of the final turn on lap 2 and overtook him on the straight. As I enter the first chicane, you guessed it, a dive and side on contact from him and another 4 seconds. I finish the race on 62 SR. :banghead:

I am now one CRB into my follow up recovery effort but at this stage 99SR before tomorrow’s Nation’s Cup looks fanciful.

These A and B SR lobbies are absolutely infuriating.:grumpy:

I feel your pain went thru that over the summer trying to get all accts to A+. was reset multiple times on multiple accts the harder I tried the worse it got.
but finally over the last 3 weeks starting with brands moved one to A+, then Bathurst moved a second to A+, then probably my second most favorite combo GR2 @ FUJI moved the last remaining to A+. The common dominator in the last 3 weeks was I had times in the top 100 or very close to always started in the top 5 which made things a whole lot easier in the race. Think I am taking this week off I feel my luck might be getting ready to run out

Yeah I was 5th so in the mix. WHat's annoying is I was not even trying to pass or race, just holding ground and will take guys who make big errors because I was trying to protect my SR. Eve then though, you cannot avoid being hit. The double right hander, I brake as late as I can to try and avoid being rear ended but I got hit once on the high line and once on the low line, what else am I supposed to do? And why am I incurring 2, 3 second penalties for being rear ended when I clearly hit the correct braking marker?

To top it off, the one race I did with a SR of 6, a guy dive bombed me from MILES back so I intentionally ran him off the road and no penalty for me!!! So when trying to keep my nose clean and I get hit I get rest but I intentionally blast a guy into the weeds and nothing.

STUPID.

I will say I think Seaside is the best Group 4 track in the game right now, there are at least 6 legit competitive cars, if not more. I cannot get the Viper to work for me though, brakes are just awful, Jag feels so, so much better.

Scene: Dragon Trail Seaside

Without prejudice

Person or persons unknown may have unwittingly "encouraged" a serial rammer toward the direction of pitlane at the end of lap one, avoiding a collision with the pit wall by a millimetre.
Person or persons unknown did not receive penalty

Jumped in the Jag for race B.
It felt good, about evens with the Viper.
Started 11th. I made slow and steady progress forwards. On lap 3 I got side by side with a TT on the start/ finish straight. I was happy to take the outside into the first chicane. The reason I know he'd outbrake himself. And so he did, off for a meeting with Barry R.
Guy behind had a 4 second penalty so was not a threat. When it all shook out on the last lap I finished 6th.
Some great, fun and sensible racing gave me a CRB. Back up to SR A so very happy.

I will have to give the JAG a try practice a little with viper last night did not race really want to stay away from the FF i know vette is not bad also we'll see

Good morning friends,

Well, yesterday’s evening for me was spent at Seaside in race B. The big boys were out in force. I just wanted some fun racing, I wasn’t looking to rank up so I painted a Jag sponsored by the always delicious Red Lobster and set 46.1 and in country I went...
I was a mere filler mostly after race one. I experienced one embarrassing loss of self control when I brake checked 3 Vipers just before the Chicane of Peril.
I was setback from 99 to 86. That was the second race of nine. I recovered to above 90 for the rest and I was starting 12-14 on full grids of A A plus and S.
The racing was very very high quality (reference alt DR = 47k). I was so impressed with the control of the racers and fun swapping spots and defending. That track is just an outstanding design. I did 2-3 races in the Jag, then one in the Ferrari and finally was forced to go to the Viper. On wheel imo Viper is by far fastest and easiest to use on this combo. The Ferrari is by far the most nimble and CAN make some very sweet moves in the braking zones and can stay out of trouble by sheer agility. It’s worth a go, but realize it just lacks that power a little...
Overall I had many adventurous races and probably would have gained DR overall but I did have one crash when last lap a guy in a TT and I were neck and neck exiting the last turn and he intentionally bumped me to slow me down so I went full attempted PIT and somehow LAUNCHED myself into the pit entrance losing seven spots and finishing dfl.
Great great racing last night excepting my angry outbursts twice. No one racing had time to get a miracle qual so everyone had pace and control. Fantastic being 14th and the whole field running bumper to bumper clean. Jmo the pen system is working great in top rooms rn.
I wanted to get to the front. The guys behind wanted to get by me...That’s exactly what I wanted...

Happy Holidays!

Help my memory please.

Race A has been Corolla>Yaris>Demio>Crown>... what was before the Crown?
