And this week I was able to win with the Xanavi Nismo, its actually an ok Gr2 car.

I thought I was the only one  (well in every race I did last week, I was the single Xanavi on the grid.) I didn't win with it but managed a few top 6 placements. I preferred to drive it over the others on this track. My race times were also faster compared to my few runs with the NSX.

@sturk0167 if you have the shifter add on for the wheel, i believe you can shift as fast as you can physically do it, whereas it feels like the game shifts like it is on a sunday cruise...

There are “tricks” to using it as well, only shifting up from 1st to 3rd in most cars with the shifter while downshifting and the other upshifts with Paddles because it’s faster. Plus there a glitch where you can leave the shifter in a gear for the slowest shift and switch to Paddles, then pop the clutch and bam, it’s in gear because the stick is already in that gear. The top guys have it all figured out lol.

indeed it was also only me(Sometime I could see a Petronas Lenxus), but I did not much training so felt down from high B to less then half B, there I was able to get a win, upper it was way more difficult.
Not sure if you got it, but the Xanavi at some points totally lost control, like as the suspension is shooting back middle corner.

I think I’ll just join the sheep and use the meta for race b. I give up on the rcz, it’s too slow on the straights for the race. Best q time so far is a 1:32.8 with it.

What the....??? Sounds like I need to get a shifter! Nice info I never knew those little tricks existed :dunce:👍 Now I know why I am not winning

Only tried 1 car so far at Interlagos... Started with the F1 GTR just because I enjoy driving it and the centre seating is better for in car view driving and replays.. got it down to a 1'31.6 with probably another .2 at the most left for me.. the R8 LMS seems to be the car of choice so far with most of the top 10 in EU using it, no VW's in the top 10 so far!

Here's my best lap so far in the Maclaren, going back tonight and try the R8 and VW 👍

I just recently found out about the “tricks” myself, I knew the shifter was faster, but I didn’t fully know why it was faster before.

Does anybody remember if soft tires were available last time we did Gr.4 at Tokyo East Outer Loop? It was 3 months ago, and I'm seeing that there were 50 people in the region that were faster than today's fastest time. Is it the tires, or something else?

where do you get that information? (no I don't remember either btw)

They should put it on full sequential for these races in my opinion as to level things up as the advantage with a shifter and clutch is considerable. I think the Fiat 500 the week before last was like that. Knowing that it is standard gearboxes puts a bit of a downer on Tsukuba, a track I am quite quick on, as we're probably losing at least a second a lap just form the gearshifts alone.

Kind of late to the party here, but wanted to share Race B on Suzuka last week using the Hurican Gr.4.

Started the race P10 after putting up a 2:09.3xx in qualifying (I thought I was starting pretty far back considering I thought I put up a good qualifying time), and finished the race P4. The battle up the field was unbelievable from my perspective, and I benefited largely from people infront of me punting/battling one another and losing a bunch of time. I got lucky and I thought I was treated very fairly by other drivers, but it got very savage between everyone else.

Was being held up quite a bit by the guy infront of me at the start on lap 1, but was able to make a clean pass on him at the hairpin on lap 2 after he went too deep. After getting past him for P9, P3 to P8 were all bunched up and battling one another very aggressively. I was able to sidestep all of action and finished P4. Was very happy with the result, but couldn't believe the battling that was going on infront of me, never seen so many cars bunch up before.

By the end of the week I’m sure there will be guys getting close to last time.

I agree, 100%. Manual H pattern gearboxes should be for offline use only.

Good to know. I hope the guys who are doing that 🤬 aren't the same ones that always complain about others who use driving aids. I'd call that little shifter trick the ultimate driving aid.

Well, due to my SR going down to low S, my last C race last night had me on pole (1:37.07). Had a comfortable lead on 2nd, but he pitted on L5 and I was on L6. He saw me come out of the pits, and even though I stayed on the left edge of the track, he came in hot and I couldn't turn in. He bumped me into the sand and I got an SR down flag, but worse, he was 3 seconds ahead by the time I got back on track, and my tires were dirty. I managed to get within 1 second with 2 laps to go, but I went a little wide and lost 1.5. Finished in P2, 1.2 seconds back to finish the week.

I'm looking forward to all the races this week. We'll see which one I end up concentrating on. I hope the F1 will let me better my time at Interlagos. I may end up back in the Lambo for Tokyo, since it seems to work well there. The Aston is another possibility. GR2 would have been nice at Interlagos. I really enjoy that class, though those tight corners would be a handfull with no TC. I may have to play with that offline.

not really driving aids, more like cheats/exploiting a glitch

Skipping/jumping gear is a comon thing to do in regular cars (downhill, I often do 2>4 or 3>5; 3to5 works also great when entering a highway with a diesel), it's the only benefit that should be given to users of H gear box, and it should only work with non sequential gear boxes.

It kinda ruins the idea of BoP. :irked:

They need make it so that you can only use either the paddles or the clutch/shifter in a race, not both. Maybe once you shift with h-pattern, the paddles get disabled, and vice-versa.

I have an H-shifter that I'm still getting used to, so I haven't used in a race yet. I won't be using paddles to downshift and clutch/shifter to upshift and whatever other tricks/exploits people are currently doing. I don't want to rely on that stuff.

I feel that the H-shifter upshift speed is balanced out by needing to heel/toe and so shouldn't be a big advantage, as long as you can't exploit by using paddles also. It's tough to go from left foot braking and paddles to heel/toe, which is what is holding me back from using it in a race up to now.

Holy cow. I just looked at Jason's site, and it says that you're #4 in the world for all-time race count, at 6,526. You're within spitting distance of 3rd place. Go for the podium. 👍

PD will have to put up some better races and fix the penalty system. I just tried Tokyo, full on 🤬 fest. I lost 8 SR while not doing anything. I got bumped from behind, into walls etc. I got one 5 sec penalty when a laggy Argentinian rammed me into a wall. Not sure if this is fun anymore, yet I feel compelled to get my SR back to 99 :/ 80% red ratings in that room, cars driving around with 21 sec of penalties flashing, and this is supposed to be the best of the cleanest drivers with max SR :banghead:

Yeah Daily Races are pretty much unplayable now for anyone who wants to have an actual race, reading through the thread from the live event this weekend a driver noted it was the dirtiest event yet, so if the live events are getting worse, I really can’t see Daily Races getting better any time soon.

Yeah, I was prepared for the usual Tokyo mess yet this surprised even me. The schools aren't even out yet (going to pick up my kids now) It also looked like the net code has gotten worse? There were a lot of wobbly cars while my connection seemed fine. I'll give it another go later. I guess I can ignore SR, if the 99 room is like this, then what's the point of maintaining SR.S!

Looks like a week of lobby racing for me...various tracks and cars, no SR to worry about, can just get on and enjoy some racing!

Yeah I’m gradually moving this direction as well, honestly, the racing is much cleaner and there are some unique combos and great races to be had. :)

Well, on the plus side, I guess a lot of those guys will be dropping out of the SR S rooms.
Hey, I just got an idea. 💡 I think that particular Tokyo layout should have a sign like this one from Bethpage Black. Just change the word golfer to driver.

Man, I’d love to play a round of golf there some day. :)
