Had a good day yesterday. All clean. A few podiums.

1st race this morning not so good. Got knocked out on the uphill S turn, lap 2, from 5th down to 9th. Seemed intentional. Car came in really fast, almost no brakes, bounced off my rear and continued straight through, full momentum. Nasty but it works perfect. Watch your rear view. :scared:

It's a special technique I've seen a couple times in the lower SR brackets on DT: Seaside. When two cars approach the chicane, a third car behind will dive in and use both cars as bumpers to get through the chicane by aiming in between them as they make the corners. Dive bomb for experts. The penalty system approves of this move as the double contact has 66% chance on putting the blame on one of the other two if someone goes off. If both stay on the other two get SR Down since they are on the outside in both parts.

PLEASE SOMEONE make a separate Thread for RACE C.
How is this supposed to work?
I want to talk about Race C strategies, not read Race A bragging ...

Pretty much exactly what happened. Sucks for me. But it was perfectly executed.

Oh and for the Lester stalkers , this is an article (from last July) I saw from the Star Edmonton.

Then talk about them man, no one is stopping you. This thread is for all daily races. You seem to do an awful lot of complaining around here for a new guy.

Plus, as a friend of mine once put it, “It ain’t bragging if ya done it!” ;)

He started a thread last week that got shut down/locked because he insulted one of the mods who tried to help him. Maybe he can't start threads anymore. :odd:

I need to find a car I can go fast in at Suzuka. Right now I'm stuck in the 2:04's. No qualifying yet, and not very good finishes due to being punted. I had a good result pitting on L6 when I passed a bunch in the pits. Went from 11th to 7th after coming out of the pits, but got punted out of 6th and ended up last or second to last, back up to 12th at the end. I'll play with cars tonight and find something I like. Had fun in the GT, but IDK if it's fast enough here. Couldn't hang with the 911's in the corners when I raced it.

Edit: I always find that the strategy that works best is...go faster!

I may give the Veyron a go just to mix things up.

I also need to work on not holding my breath through the chicane

I just cant drive the Veyron. It is something with the engine sound that bothers me. I prefer cars that rev higher and that shifts higher. Just feels more like racing ... :D

I saw that one, he also started another one bashing Gt Sports programmers for doing their jobs as well.

Fighting the good fight in the Huracan derby... er, Race B, down to 1:46.507 in the GT-R. We'll ignore that that's after probably 50 laps across races and qualifying, while I got a 46.6 in my second lap in the Lambo...

The time difference in the Americas region between #1 and #824 at race A is 0.999. With this in mind, I think it's safe to assume there will be plenty of contact in that race. I haven't tried it.

You are correct sir, you just can’t get away from anyone on this track. This combo(last time) is what started my DR reset, one really bad race and then I got fustrated and made it worse on myself from there. Went from 47k to 15k in 3 races.

Damn! I would imagine that with the slipstream effect, you could actually see all 12 cars running about the same lap times. :scared:

Ha I do know what you mean. You're doing 150mph but it looks and sounds like it's doing 40!

Pro-tip if you're following someone through the chicane at Dragon Trail - it's not a sign of weakness to lift and follow someone through safely. If it's not the last lap and you're alongside them or close to them, you'll get another chance to pass.

Especially applicable when you have about a pixel's worth of your car near the guy in front's rear tyres, because all you're going to do is send one or both of you into the wall.

@Pigems wow, that was really close to the top regional time! Great job!

In response to a post a few pages back (I’m on a trip so I can’t log on very often right now): I consider it fair game to change your line once or twice on a straight to break the slipstream and I do it myself sometimes. What’s off limits for me is constant, frantic weaving throughout the whole straight. That’s just annoying. What do others think of this?
I think you're refering to my post in which I used the term "zigzaggong", (please forgive me if it's not the correct term as English is not my first language).
Indeed one thing is to change your racing line in order to defend your possition but the people I was adressing start swrving their car so progressively that when they have to tackle the turn, for instance the hairpin an the end of the long straight at Maggiore, they are in a pretty odd possition so they end up losing a lot of time.
If there's something I've learn in gt sport is that these drivers that incur in this behavior are never willing to have a clean fight so that's trouble incoming.

Dont understand people tailgating in the first place while they know the game got some Net issues and some player have lag, let alone the chicane of death.

Race B is still bad. I did 3 races so far, 2 of them dirty, 1 with clean race bonus finishing 5th avoiding the dirty.

I saved the worst one which is another piece of evidence how broken the penalty system is.

For full disclosure it's the entire race (with the boring bits sped up) starting with me bumping an early braker. Nothing happened though and I made sure to stay out of the way of the car behind me letting him through. I was fully prepared to apologize to him after the race until he bumped me off in the final corner. However the real trouble maker was the green car who rams me first after I give him plenty space, then starts bumping and ramming me.

That's not the worst part. In none of the instances of him bumping and punting me off does he get a penalty. Both the yellow and green car got a blue S after the race and I'm the only one ending up with a penalty and red S. How is this possible... They were lower DR than me, so I guess it's DR discrimination in full effect. This is not a racing game anymore, I guess I should reset my DR to D daily to get some fair treatment.

That bus stop, people just can't do it

It's one clip, had to split it in 2. People just drive like they are alone on the track hoping for the best and it works.

@Invisigoth: Only my observation but it may help you in car selection. The Huracans are very fast around DT Seaside however it in particular can be very skittish with the best time found when letting it slide across the track and finding the absolute limit. I find the same in the NSX myself. Granted faster quali times are good but in the race I've been selecting the car that can hold the line, turn in, keep steady if bumped. Using the Trophy makes sense if you can get a half decent time AND keep it consistently on the track. That way when the faster guys in the Huracans fall off the track, which they all do because they are trying to drive the track in race conditions as though they are still time trialing, then you can take advantage of their mistakes. You mentioned yesterday for example that the Bus stop can be done flat out in GR4 and yes, it can, but in traffic with cars bouncing off walls all around you what you want is the car that can go through it in one piece and most importantly accelerate out of it. @05XR8 keeps singing the praises of the Atenza and I'd agree, not far off Huracan pace for me but much more predictable. Also the Nissan GT-R which actually goes through Bus-stop a gear down for me keeping nice speed and stability.

Of course, I used the Megan Gr4 so the addage "do as I say and don't do as I do" may apply here.

I find the Gr4 Huracan extrenely stable. You can get tagged mid-corner in it and not spin out, even without countersteering.

I find it stable but slippy. It likes to slide a bit more than I like. Even compared to the Megane. Of course, you’ve won more races than I’ve even started so I’m not contradicting. Just my preference. It was my go to car when I was using DS4 but not a fan with the wheel.

If you're still doing that race on Thursday, I can show up with my new alternate profile and do some of this, while you just tuck in right behind. -->

The engine note is deceptive. The 'vette is a bit like that too. That lazy V8 makes it sound like it's going slower than it is. I used to get the same sense with the Zonda in GT4. Then you get the cars that have high revving engines that are a lot slower than you think. You adjust eventually.

The might be why - I am using DS4 and I think that facilitates countersteering better than a wheel.

47.817...glad he mentioned bragging. I was going to do Daily B all week but that remark genuinely got me interested in what I could do.:gtpflag:

That's the state of the daily B atm. I'm driving 3.5 sec off my pace avoiding the chaos. Twice I had to slow down for irresponsible track re-entries, both times losing 5 places as nobody else cares. I did get the clean race bonus. This is not racing.
