Maybe some. The flash patterns are different. 1 or 2 flashes may be by accident. If someone is flashing for the entire lap, that's not by accident. :D
I thought so too, until I watched a few of my own replays. After that I promptly removed the control assignment for light flashing altogether, I never voluntarily used it anyway.

We need 2 more guys for the WRS race, lobbies up now. Anyone wanna race? :)
Sorry, got school taxi duty :(

I can race in five minutes or so. Dang it missed it.

Earlier had some fun races on Lemans. The last one I had a fast ts050 tried to barge early, hung with my Porsche, forced me defensive on the slow turns, I would have pulled more gap but I either made a mistake at Porsche curves or maybe 2 mistakes, can’t remember, at Porsche he just goes ballsout around outside smashing the wall and me and getting a pen. I made another mistake and he caught again later...he is on me in the twisting bits, so he tries to pit maneuver me turn 3. I could feel it in the wheel, luckily corrected it, replay shows him steering opposite the turn trying to pit me out of the way.
I let him by and sat back in his slip while he began weaving all over, lol. It’s like dude group c I own you now.
I got real close to him under braking into the first two chicanes, and let him have it at the tight right.
What a jerk! We were catching fourth but he wanted to fight instead of race. Finally after I served my pen he caught up and I tried to spin him in the first right onto Porsche and totally missed and put myself off track.
Lol should have just waited until it was easy to crush him into the chicane...
Lol down to 86 after that debacle. It was my bad with the mistake running wide into Porsche, should have left him in the dust and caught fourth. Ah well, kinda tired of Lemans anymore. Seems I always get bashed lap 1 and lose lead pack. Plus starting fourth is very tough with where autodrive dumps you.

Lol punted him like a mangy dog

Ended up doing some qualifying for race C for the last day did a 22.3 in the lm55 then won the next race from 3rd and packed it in had a 20.7 optimal but I was pretty over it by that point and packed it in. Just couldn't put the whole lap together

Did 6 laps in the Mazda and then 7 in the Porsche, no trouble what so ever in qualify. Goes into race and before I even get through the second Chikane it's like I have no brakes and the car just goes straight through. Reset, dead last. Next chikane it's the same thing again. As if the car had brakes from a moped..
And it can't be dirty air, half the times I was all alone. It makes no sense to me....

if you're talking about Race C, it's the cold tires that do it.

cold tires have always been noticeable, but a couple updates ago, I think it was when they increased the slip stream distance, it became much more of a problem. They usually feel slippery to me for the first several corners, each one getting just a little better until they are warm. Just brake about 50m earlier than you normally would for a hard braking zone and release the brake gently to prevent the excessive lift-off oversteer.

Perhaps the fuel multiplier multiplies the fuel weight as well. You're driving around with 375 kg of fuel in lap 1

I change the mapping button to avoid this. When watching replays of my races I hate to see my car flashins its light, I look like a fool.
How do we determine who is "flashing"?

What about the idiots using hazards and turn signals?

What the hair am I supposed to do?

Use roof cam or chase view... no rear view so you don't see the flashing.... :p

Seriously, I pay no attention to flashers, real or accidental (bumper cam for me, with rear view). If a driver is clearly faster than me I'll make a little room and expect them to pass clean... if not I'll race my line, possibly choosing a defensive line, and expect them to get faster or wait. The only real race classes I'm aware off where flashing even might be a thing is rally and mixed class endurance racing.

Edit: Public access days on the 'ring, drivers are expected to use indicators because the normal German road rules apply. Otherwise I give indicators and hazards the same attention as headlight flashing... possible exception, trying to rejoin track on the exit of a blind corner, hazards might be appropriate.

That's a perk of using chase cam I hadn't really considered until recently. I've probably ignored/unacknowledged hundreds of people light flashing me.

I've seen people flash their lights when I toggle behind sometimes but I usually react like the below.

Man, at Panorama on the night race we had a ways back people were definitely flashing on purpose to distract.
They were doing it intentionally.
I’m seriously considering one more Lemans in a VGT...Normally dislike, but the Mazda seems strong...
EDIT not in my hands it’s not!
Last race will be in Nissan.

After a huge marathon session, from 11:30 AM, until 7:30 PM, 16 races in a row, I'm finally back to 99 SR. (from 52) The race quality was the worst in high SR.A when SR.S started coming back into the room. For a long time it seemed I would never get passed the 70s. Finally people calmed down enough to get back to SR.S and 99 SR.

Kinda pointless really with the grid start coming up on the Nordschleife tomorrow. My DR is back at 28K so I'll be starting 5th to 10th tomorrow without qualifying  The SR Down from a bump from behind is the killer while trying to regain SR. Can't avoid, -3 SR every time it pops up. Sarthe had 10 SR to give this week, 2 laps at the Nordschleife is probably the same low amount if not even less. (25 sectors this week on Sarthe vs 22 sectors next week on Nordschleife)

My fastest race time of the day
TCMZY0Z.jpg

Total race time of 17:44.928 still slower than earlier in the week (17:43.106). Can't beat my time post patch.

Fastest lap of the day was in this lobby
4SCSHnC.jpg

3:27.141 still slower than earlier in the week 3:26.871. Close, but I couldn't get under 3:27 anymore post patch.
That was a lovely lobby btw, so much bumping from behind I lost 2 SR, I never hit anyone, did get punted off twice by 4 and 11.

Some of the good results
bU8lxP0.jpg

Couple clean races and fastest laps on the slow slow way up.

The most satisfying race
gmLFgr9.jpg

Canada's dirtiest showed up for a race in SR.A. He started second, not in a GT-R for a change. I already passed him in lap 1 while he was serving penalties. Bye bye.

And all throughout the day the same pattern continued all the way to the max SR.S room
etlelHX.jpg

Nobody cares about 0.5 sec track limit penalties, they need to be much higher imo! Red dot disease in every room.

Also check out the distribution of cars in the different lobbies. the 90-99 SR room has the least variety. The only room where I was the lone GR.C ranger. Down in SR.B I had battles with other GR.C race in every race, sometimes all 5 were there scattered through the grid.

I put my last 2 races together, the difference between 80-89 SR and 90-99 SR.

Sped up here and there, first the max SR race (finished 8th, got bumped wide)
The 80-89 SR race starts 12 minutes in (finished 5th, punted off twice)

I've definitely had my fill of Sarthe after this marathon run. Great fun steering the 962C through traffic, too bad the 'cleanest' rooms are contaminated by the TS050 virus. Enough!

Damnit, PD. That Race C on Nurb with N200 could be fun, but other races? Same races we already had multiple times before :( This week, another Autopolis Gr4 race with FWD cars and Gr3 on interlagos. Nothing against Gr3 on interlagos, but why can't there be another track that wasn't used as much?

Hi, I'm checking in to say hi.

And also checking in to say 🤬 Big Willow on the Lewis Hamilton DLC. My best time is .011 seconds behind diamond, and I haven't been able to come close ever since.

Actually, I was close. I was .070 ahead coming into the final turn, and my dumb self sent myself to the shadow realm.

I spent over 20 a few hours trying to diamond it, to no luck. I give up on it. It's a lost cause.
I blame Lewis Hamilton and @sturk0167 for breaking me!!!!

And, just like that Lemans and group C was gone...It’s all gone...
My final race I went all out in the Nissan, but it wasn’t meant to be. Got overtaken before t1 by ts050 and had to wait for Mulsanne to get by...
Got up to second, pulling onto first...Another half lap I get slip and it’s on...Or no it isn’t, back to back .5 wrecked Mulsanne and allowed the laggiest car I’ve ever seen on GTS to win...lag switch? Very strange watching replay, but I guess 99 cent internet does that...
Anyways great clean racer behind...Ts050 Josia something...He ran a good race, almost caught him after the fuel splash, but not quite...
Ah well, all good things must come to an end.crb and the last podium spot cap off an epic week...
Good tidings to all, and to all a good night!

something i can say about this challenge its that the physics we use is different . The AMG understeer since a couples update ago so track like brands and Big Willow where we need oversteer are much harder to do we clearly see it when we follow is ghost . But it still can be done so i will try again , im so close like .100 . I did monza , Mount panorama and dragon trail on first attempt but brands and Big Willow in a 20 lap only gold 4me

I was trying to do it all in order. Brands hatch took me quite a while to get it done. I've spent an unhealthy amount of time on Big Willow to where it got me stressed to the point of getting sick. I'll try the other ones in a few days.

But yeah, the different physics makes it all harder to get diamond.

I got brands done last night but by god it was painful. Must have got within a tenth about 10 times and at least 50 restarts before success.

So Redbull Ring was quite the desaster last week. Did about 15 races there, with I think a couple of Top 5 finishes and even a podium. That is where the good news ends.

DR dropped by about half from over 12k to about 6.5k.

SR was way worse. I usually have a rating in the 90s and most of the time I am at 99. I dropped to below 50 this week, because of all the absolute idiots on the circuit. Managed to get it back up to 57 in the last race...

Urgh, I hope I can recover some this week.

My prayers are the same. Dropped to SR C. Did not race anymore at Race B and C since Wednesday. Did some Race A with the MX-5 yesterday and climbed from SR 31 to SR 37. Bloody mess..

What about the idiots using hazards and turn signals?

All of my racing liveries have the Japanese symbol for "elderly driver" on them. I'm permitted by law to run all races with a turn signal flashing the entire race ;).

That's a perk of using chase cam I hadn't really considered until recently. I've probably ignored/unacknowledged hundreds of people light flashing me.

You can still see them flashing on the back of your car. It's sometimes useful, particularly during the night races, because the light often show up on the back of your car before you see them on radar. Helpful also of you are about to be lapped. The down side is that well... during a night race I went to get out of the way of another car, only to find the flash I saw was infact from my own brake lights .

Wow, lots of posts since I last checked. Been fighting with the machine after an "update". It's been 28 years since Torvalds raised his pimply head and said 🤬 minix, I want a real OS. We live in a world of apps, smart phones and touch screen ordering at Maccas. I should *not* have to touch a bloody terminal ! *Ever*!

And what gems have I learns from reading the past 24h of posts. I've learnt that @Groundfish probably had "MDK" on all his liveries. #R4M_Haddock. I've also learn that people love complaining about complaining . I wonder what I'll have to complain about after tonight's race :p?

So I caved at the weekend, qualified and raced in the Toyota, managed a faster lap than I had in the Jag, and landed 6th on the grid, with a mix of BS to DS, with a lone AS on pole, the top 8 all in Toyotas. 5th place was slow out of Ford before the start, and out of Dunlop, and I had to take evasive action both times to not run into him, but was past him easily down to the first chicane. 3rd and 4th both went off at Indianapolis, and I gradually took time out of 2nd until he crashed at Indianapolis on lap 4 when I was less than a second behind, and ran to the end in 2nd, over 20s behind the lone AS in the race. Not sure how I didn't get a CRB, didn't hit anyone, and don't think I ran off the road, certainly didn't get a penalty.

Ran a second race, 6th on the grid again, but no AS. Got up to second, and then into the lead when the Audi in the lead made a mess of the final chicane on lap 2. Another Toyota tried a massive divebomb into the first Mulsanne chicane, missed and gave me a 5s lead which the 2nd place Toyota ate into, until he got past at the second chicane on the last lap. It was a strong barge pass, and I probably could have got him a penalty had I allowed my car to go off the road, but kept it under control. Followed him to the line, but didn't get another chance to pass, and finished 1s behind him, with 3rd 10s behind.

Disappointed with the second one, but two 2nd places, a CRB and 4000 DR points (including 1500 for graduating to B) wasn't a bad morning.

RBR could have been less of a disaster if it was 10+ laps and required a pit. but a short race, everyone wants to just ram their way to the front. punt the pole sitter on turn 1, cop your 3 sec penalty, who cares, but the biggest threat is now at the back of the field. pretty good pay off for only 3-5sec penalty. honestly it is infuriating but it works for the perpetrators.

next week's dailies are up already... and it's Big Willow in the AMG GT3 for race C :lol::lol:

Hmm, the Toyota is a snooze fest on race C while idiots think they can stick noses in everywhere. First time I came away from the nurb feeling angry :( I started 10th which is just beyond the corner. The grid start actually went fine but as always with slow cars, people try to pass by pushing a nose in. There is no race craft with slow cars, just pushing.

Starting 5th next  Dirty mofo from last race isn't there at least. However, 6 Brazilians lined up behind me.

Good job PD, with last week and this week, I vow to never buy a Toyota for the rest of my life.
