So, I'm packing my bags for misty Mountain. Where the horsepower go now. Over the hill where the horsepower flies, oh, I really don't know..... So yet another crack at the Mountain. This time I went with the AMG.... the *other* AMG.. there are *two* yanno :p? I surprised myself by beating my Jag time. Since it was a mixed grid of DR/B and C, I started yet again P10/19.

Race starts as yesterday, just before Murray's. I didn't take Hell as smoothly as I would have liked, but still managed to go up a place from someone ahead taking it even worse. Things were fine up Mountain Strait, and braked and changed down to 3rd as I had been doing during qually, and the 🤬 just did not wanna turn in. I scraped the wall, and had a newer AMG up my arse. I managed a very small gap across the top of the Mountain and passed a wreck just before Skyline. Again I found the turn in less than equal at Forrest elbow. Tapped the wall on the exit which slowed me down and the other Merc was right there again. It was a drag to the kink. I kept to the inside because I was not gunna get pushed off! We were side by side at the kink.

He turned in and bounced off me, went off onto the grass, then hit me again on re-entry at The Chase. This slowed me so that I had a WRX (who had bragged in pre-race that he was on an alternate account and could act up.) side by side approaching Murray's. He was slightly ahead of me on the outside and turned across me, started to spin across my front, then I T-boned him and he continued the spin . I felt that maybe I should have backed off , so I pulled over and slowed so he could re-gain, but he spun out again with no help from me. I dropped down to P13 in the confusion. Gained a position from the exit of Hell and had yet *another* AMG on my tail. (There were a bunch of the newer AMGs in the races so far, that's why I picked the SLS). He tried to pass me up the inside on the curve after The Cutting. He scrapped the wall instead. The FT-1 in front was squirming all over and becoming a bit of a roadblock. He managed Forrest Elbow cleanly and pulled a small gap down Conrod. I got sideways and on the grass a bit at The Chase. The GT-R that pulled along side me then decided to swerve into me for no apparent reason, knocking me onto the grass. I took out the 150m marker, but managed to get back onto the track before taking out the 100m marker (my braking point). I got up the inside of him at Murray's. He turned in and bounced off me towards the sand and I slide sideways. I nearly hit the pit wall, but somehow managed to turn the car . There was lots of tyre smoke from my ghost. Because I practically came to a stand still, he came out ahead, but lost control again , so still P13.

I circulated for another couple of laps. The SLS had become a lot more tail happy than it was in qualy coming down the Mountain, and I was struggling to keep it off the walls :scared:. Near the end of lap 5 I passed a Porsche who muffed up The Chase. Up to P12. I saw a yellow flag and dust at Sulman and up to P11 at Skyline, so there must have been a car parked in the sand I didn't see. Caught up to the FT-1 in P10. He botched entry to The Chase, so up another position. The car in P9 picked up a penalty, so I finished P9 :odd:.

SR blue, DR went up another hundred and a bit. The DR/C journey continues .

Kind of the same. I'd consider myself a Gr.4 racer. As much as I dislike combos that turn into One Makes. Because of that, I say I'll take a pass, but I just can't miss a Gr.4 event.

The Jag really is an absolute weapon around Bathurst. My lap time is down to a 2:02.745 now. (Awkwardly, I only managed a 2:02.8 on my main account.) That car is almost idiot-proof around the fast bits, it handles so well. It has a bit less grunt than I’d like out of the lower gears, but still… really, really good. I might have to incorporate the F-Type into my Gr.3 rotation more often.

Here's a little diddy for ya. First I get brake-checked on the straight. Then comes the road rage as if I should dare to pass him. It's his track and I should know that! :)

And this is why I had to take the week off. Thankfully, I've been preoccupied with something else. But this "I'm in front of you, so I'm better" BS is really irritating me. I used to be a blocker, but now, if I know someone is faster, I'll gladly let them pass. Just don't try to rub fenders to "earn" the position. That just smacks of a-hole behavior.

Right, I'm done with Sardegna! Low B it's just carnage, most people in low B are not able to drive around this track it seems. This shot is right before I get sent into the wall getting a 4 sec penalty after the Porsche tried to overtake going in the grass, they hit the wall and bounced back into me at the last turn.

I'll be back for Nurburgring next week I suppose!

Gr.4 at Brands Hatch, again?
Yeah, that's why I posted this:

Maybe track conditions will be sun overhead this time or the sun in our eyes. I'll keep racing to beat those Slophys. ;)

I ran a few Race Cs on the alternate account today, and then did a little more hot lapping on the main. I ran a 4.4xx and that’ll probably do it. I know with a perfect (for me, hah) lap I might be able to get into the 3s, but I’m kinda over it. I won’t dread the track the next time it comes up though.

Tried my best at the mountain this week but oh man do I suck with GR.3 cars. Did 4-5 races with a QT only good for last position. All the races unfold the same way: The first two laps I gained a lot of positions because of all the mayhem and I can race in the middle of the field. But as the race goes I lose position lap by lap and finishes DFL. So moving on Race A.

There I was able to fight for win starting somewhere in the top 3. Extra clean races, door to door racing without any incident. There was not a lot of overtake but still good heated races.

Best part of this is I finally got the 15 CRB after more than two years stuck at 13.

Seeing some amazing penalty videos from @Sven Jurgens and @sturk0167

It seems this current system punishes the car on the outside of bends, weirdly. So the dive up the inside, or clumsy shove out defence favour the offender

It's the same as before, except it was only SR Down in the old system. PD is still using the perceived advantage as criteria for punishment. Since the outside car goes faster through a turn (faster forward speed) the system thinks they got an advantage from the contact.

Same for punts, the puntee is perceived to have gotten an advantage, which cancels out getting punted off track, thus the punter goes free. (Unless the puntee also hits a wall, that's 2 strikes against the punter vs 1 strike for gaining a speed advantage) It's that stupid.

Went in for a Race B. Turned into bumper cars after Lap 1.
Gave some spots back after I made contact with others. Got offed with two others, after previously recovering from someone not looking on their side.

It's at these times, momentum tracks are tough. Can't give an inch.

She'll be commin' round the Mountain when she comes. She'll be commin' round the Mountain when she comes.....The only car left that I could at least get the qualifying time I had at the start of the week was the '17 Lexus. My SLS qualifying time had me starting P12/19 on a grid of mostly DR/Bs with a few Cs. If I finish in P12 I should still get a few points.

Race starts ok. I'm not quite as smooth through Murray's as I had hoped. Made Hell corner ok, and up Mountain strait I had two GT-Rs on my tail. One decided to stuff himself up the inside of me at Griffins, so I had to brake rather hard to try not smashing into the outside wall.. with cold tyres . The second GT-R shoved his way through behind, hit me, and I was gifted with a 3s penalty because he veered off and hit a wall  . I'd dropped to P13 by the time I got to the top of the mountain. I was P18 by the time I unghosted from serving my penalty. Yeh this was already looking like a 🤬 of a race :irked:. Yellow flag at The Chase with a ghost parked across the track and up I go, catching up to the pack at Murray's.

Passed a GT-R serving a penalty on Mountain Strait and and up another position. The red 626 in front became a road block all the way across the top of the mountain and down to Forrest elbow, allowing the red GT-R i passed on Mountain Strait to catch up. He was right on my arse, but I got a better exit and managed to hold him off with enough of a gap despite the potential speed difference. The chase saw two victims and up to P14. Another victim after Griffins saw me up another place. Almost back to where I started . I had the red GT-R tap me from behind a few times, finally slamming into me at Skyline and smashing me into the shadow realm as I pinballed off the walls . He caught up to me because I had caught up to the two cars in front and one was holding me up. *I* knew enough to brake a bit earlier to not run up the back of them :banghead:. Back to P18 ....again :banghead::banghead::banghead:. I am *really* 🤬 sick of GT-R drivers by this stage and just wish the race was over :nervous:.

Passed a GT-R parked at Forrest, and another next lap at Skyline. Caught up to the two in front at Murray's. Lap 6 and another car comes a cropper at The Chase, I'm now in P14. Passed an AMG up Maintain Strait just before Griffins so P13. He got me round the outside at the kink at the end of Conrod. This is where I finished, P14. The Lexus was fairly easy to get around the Mountain, but in my hands, slow. I was about 2s slower per lap than in most of the other cars I race with this week.

SR blue, DR dropped nearly 500. The fall has begun. I could see the Border for DR/B but I ain't got no entry visa. Another day on the DR/C joiurney .

Next week Race C:

Megane Trophy is fast.
Jaguar F-Type is fast.
Alfa 4C is fast.
Subaru WRX is fast.

I drove the Megane. Tyre Wear is good, I didn't change the tyres and had no problems.
A friend drove the WRX, he said much tyre wear and the front tyres are down.
4C and Jag changed tyres, but have not more information.

Here is the replay:

What lap times can be expected for next week's Race B and C?
The AMG is a weapon around Yamagiwa.

I looked up Gr 4 times for the last trip to the GP, and they were low 2s. I don’t remember exactly, but I feel like the fastest times were like 2:01-2:02 or something. FWIW anyways...the times at Bathurst this week were much quicker than the last time.

Thank you. Just raced against an A+ driver in a lobby (Race B), he was doing 1:34:1xx during the race, so I guess that's something I can base my times on.

I was doing 2:10s, Fuel 1, testing the Supra. If you're going faster than that, you're burning fuel.
I tried a no stop in a Custom Race and only got to Lap 8 with .9Laps left. Started the races from 20th. So, I could probably make a no stop starting higher up.

I'll experiment the first day of racing, something like:

- No qualy, short shift Fuel 1 for a no stop
- No qualy, flat out(pit for tyres, fuel)
- No qualy, play with fuel mixture
- Qualify, repeat from above

Target will be, to pick a Slophy to follow and match pace. No doubt will depend on impatient players, divebombers and repeat offending punters.

How much time is lost while pitting in Race C?
Also is a no stopper possible?
