At least *this* week :odd:. (Remember some of the other races in the past , like the RE Amemyia?) :O
They are overwhelmingly the exception (and yes, because I write all the DR articles  ). I think there's been ~380 Daily Race races since it switched back to being weekly again, so we're talking about somewhere in the region of 99.5% of DR having no permitted tuning.

You've read one or two of my posts I expect. You have an inkling of my personality. Ya had ta know I just had ta do it .... :p

I make stupid mistake after stupid mistake on race C :) this cost me 6k DR so far , at least managed to get a win starting 4th in the last race...

My quali time is 1.30.8XX, can go as low as .5 probably but at this point 29 seems impossible for me

There is nothing like fresh tyres to make you feel like a hero:

had a similar race this morning @ 7am came and got fresh mediums @ lap 10 blew by 1st place on lap 12 had this combo back in 1st week of january used same pit strategy today as i did then

With a Movement Control Order in effect where I live, the whole country's been forced to work from home, which has some unexpected side benefits. In between answering emails, dialling in conference calls and doing actual work, I decided to sneak in some practice laps at in preparation for Race C this week. And since I can't leave the house or drive for a couple more weeks, I'll let myself go in VR.

My eagerness to jump back into Daily Races while under partial lockdown could have something to do with binging Drive To Survive Season 2 on Netflix. The first job I ever wanted when I was a kid was a racing driver, and this show lets me live out my race driver fantasies vicariously. With the help of GT Sport and PSVR, of course.

I usually try to get the hang of a track/car combo in VR first, where hot-lapping alone is sublime. VR obviously allows a greater sense of depth, and sighting corners feels really natural. This is especially useful in Fuji, where the sequence of the last 2 corners in the Herman Tilke redesign have weirdly-placed apexes that aren't where you think they should be. This closely resembles that of Turn 13 and 14 of my home track, Sepang, which Tilke also designed.

After a conference call, I fired up the PS4 and strapped myself in, opting for the 2016 GT-R and the burnt orange skies of morning sunrise at Fuji. For the first couple of shakedown laps, I only managed ~1:34 with BB at +1. I fiddled with the BB dial on my wheel, but the problem with VR is that a lot of the HUD is gone, along with the BB indicator. You're only left with the gear indicator, shift lights and best lap in the reduced HUD. I pitted, dialled in BB +3, and headed back out. Spun the car under trailbraking into Turn 1. Dialled it back to +2...much better. There's enough bite and rotation on turn in, with some tyre screech as the rear comes around if you go in too hot into Turns 1 and 8. And it does make me a bit worried about tyre wear in actual race conditions. But the late braking and rotation it allows might well be worth it.

Real life got in the way, so I had to jack myself out of VR and attend to things that allow me to pay for food and this hobby (T-LCM pedals, here I come!!). After a couple more hours of emails, calls, making dinner with the wifey and doing the dishes, I jacked in for another go. With another half hour of VR hot-lapping I managed 1:32.882. It's 3 seconds off the top Asian region time, which is an improvement for me. I'm usually off by about 4 seconds, and currently ranked B/B.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to dip into 1:31s with a couple more days of practice. I'm pretty time-poor, and I need lots of practice and repetition to build up muscle memory and consistency to screw up less in actual races. I'll jump into the races on Thursday or Friday and see if I can break 20,000 DR points this week. Satisfied with my first shakedown, I made livery tweaks to the decals of my imaginary sponsors and took some photos. Man, I love this game...

I am gonna sound like a noob ...........BUT how do you get the decals on the underside of rear spoiler

So after 20laps in practice mode I can say that I am faster than 3 months ago... 1,31.221 in Lex16 with optimal 1,30.890:D now into the race!

Before selecting the decal, under "Projection Method", pick "Align with camera". Then pick Spoiler > Spoiler Roof, then turn the camera around to the underneath of the spoiler, pointing the crosshairs where you want the decal to go, then pick the decal. Took me awhile to figure this out, and you can use "Align with camera" to straighten out some decals and put them in very specific places. Don't forget to adjust the angle/depth limit to prevent spillover of the decal on the top of the spoiler.

And c race it is brake checked him uselessly out of anger no more S.
I get that you wanna level up, but when I move inside approaching turn one the answer is take the bloody racing line not ram me under braking and give me a pen.
I’m sr A now jerk!

I spilled my macchiato! :). I had a couple great ones, but this one guy couldn’t hold a line to save his life :(.
It’s fine, just pissed that I have to run Fuji now. I’m horrid there...All aids on putt putt time.
I’m really just pissed at myself for losing my temper I haven’t had a pen in 2 weeks, and if I was gonna lose it I should have made it satisfying.
That’s the worst thing. Hey it’s sport mode if it couldn’t piss ya off it might no be any fun!

First race in Race C, I got punted by two idiots with white flag/red dot, while I'm turning at the penultimate corner. I took note of them and I type, "Hulk smash next one".

Next race I start on pole. One of the punters started P6. Sure enough we meet again. Both pitted for RM on lap 5. It catches up in the slipstream (glad it's going to be changed in the update), I don't fight it, but at T1, thinks it made a clean pass... Sayonara! Off you go!. At the results screen, I wait for a message. Nothing. That's right, kick rocks.

I get tired of these bozos giving cheap tricks when I'm respectful during the whole race.

I do the kart race. Start last. Moved up to 5th. A bozo with an Aussie flag, smashes the heck out of me to last and there I am alone to the finish. I put the controller down and went to bed.

Anybody got tips on the kart race? I remember you were supposed to put TCS up or something? Going to have a play with that tonight. Struggled on Fuji with eating my tires, of course getting pushed off for daring to leave room doesnt help. That chicane on gardens is currently worse for me than the one on seaside. Need something else so looking to gamble heavy on some kart action.

Had one last go at race C on my second account and boo boy was it bad, the quality of drivers was appalling with people just dive-bombing and punting people of constantly in an SR S lobby absurd. I was starting from last with no qualifying time though. Also thank god these were done on my second account.

Edit: pervious couple of races went largely well moving from last up into the top 1/3rd by starting if hards and moving to mediums at the end of lap 7.

I’ve been running TC 2 BB 4 and also had to turn the FFB Sensitivity from 1 to 10 on the G29 so I don’t look like I’m constantly cleaning my tires.
