How do you check changes in DR and SR?

Interesting, not sure if I follow the logic... divebombers come up the inside, which explains some penalties I've been handed.

I am ahead of you there, I've already had to change the TC to 1 to help with stunts, but with higher power I think I'll change the setting to 2 and give it a try.

Thanks
Kudosprime.com also got gtscompanion app

Took a bit of a break last week since i was really not feeling the combos on offer. Put down a decent q time for the A race yesterday. Really good feel8ng combo for me. I will probably do a bunch of races there, if i can stay away from snowrunner that is....

does the wheel work with snowrunner? And are the graphics nicer than mud runner? Haha

I don't think it's an automatic SR down for quitting, on the occasions I have quit if I was clean there was no SR down, when I've been involved in an incident then quit SR has gone down. Usually lose 1k DR each time.

The likely case is you accumulated enough SR during the race to nullify the -5 SR for quitting.

It's generally not worth leaving a race unless it's affecting you mentally or have absolutely no way to catch up. Race C yesterday I was punted into the wall, down to last and began treating it like a qualifying session. I finished 12th because of others leaving, crashing and those not understanding tyre requirements.

Spent quite a bit of time at the Kyoto circuit yesterday, I hadn't really gotten to know it before and it's actually very fun :dopey: I did some races starting from the back on my second account first, best result being a podium, and brought its DR back up to 45k after taking a hit at Fuji last week. The track, being so wide, really lends itself to some great racing and it's especially satisfying to pull off moves round the outside :D I've been running 4 laps on hards and 4 laps on mediums in the Yeetle, practicing how to look after tires on the mediums stint which I'm doing pretty decently surprisingly :dopey:

Then I went on my main to do time trial in the Supra and, after a long session, finally walked away with a 2:13.966. Also found out that driving on pad can be physically painful as well, who knew :scared:

Hi, @Kyoto a sub 2.14 with the DS4? ...Wauw...really? That's alien stuff for me, a humble D-pad driver with cross, square and dynamic tcs.

I wish it was possible to see some fast drivers like you putting there imputs in in the controller! Grtz

I'm sitting at the top of the DR C ranking, with my 2:45 time giving me the pole position at Spa. It's a bit nerve-racking as I try to drive wide in the middle of the track and then secure the apex to a scary crawl which gives me a 50/50 chance of getting rammed off of the apex.

What's everyone else's strategy for managing pole position at Spa?

Your laps always just blow my mind!

If I remember correctly, he just posts the videos, the laps are usually the world #1 laps done by different people. :)

Drive it like you stole it, and pray you don’t get punted.

First off, who ever suggested changing ABS to weak, thank you! That was really messing me up. Wish I had that setting last week.

Daily Race B for me last night. I did a few warm ups but no qual just to figure out Eau Rouge and braking points. Figured it would be carnage. I went from 15th to about 7th, then back to 14th when I was absolutely obliterated at the final chicane by someone who didn’t brake. Wow, why didn’t the game ghost?

Ok, let’s throw down a qual.

Start 5th. the cars in front attempt 3 wide into the first turn, one bins it into the barrier, I tuck it in tight. Then one attempts to run me side by side through eau rouge after I lift early to go single file. He takes out the entire pack behind and i cruise to a 2nd place finish. Lesson learned, be on the safe side of the first few turns.

Start 2nd, clean first few turns, but realized I was a bit smoother than the leader. When he made his mistake I tried to capitalize on it but the contact sent me flying back to 5th. I recouped for a 3rd place finish. Lesson learned, don’t attack, just run your laps.

Start 3rd, clean first turn, I get a good run out of eau rouge and thankfully the 2nd place car concedes his spot. I get past the leader after he goes wide exiting eau rouge on the second lap and just run clean the rest of the race. Wow a win after finishing below top 10 all last week.

Start 1st, finished 1st without much drama. Gained 5k rating and moved back to A/S rating. One more night of this and i’ll be back where I was at the start of last week.

Were you the car that started second and swung in towards the apex with a car already there? If so, where was he supposed to go?

Also SR down isn't a penalty. A penalty is a penalty. SR down is "a collision occurred". Both cars should have (but might not have) got one.

Haha. Sidenote, I've been using your Ghost to practice laps on Spa and I can actually get more speed coming out of Eau Rouge without using the brakes and just lifting off to make the hard turn up the hill. Your ghost gradually gives me the slip after that but I thought it was interesting.

Yeah, you totally tuned in on him, he was there long before you started to turn in.
Radar had him behind me on the right when I started to turn in... the replay from his side showed barely any turn-in angle & no braking, he was definitely going to hit at least one of us & unlikely to make the corner.

In the following race he punted me from behind too...

If the game is set up to allow these moves, then from now on I’ll divebomb every corner so I’m on the inside

Yeah, you totally tuned in on him, he was there long before you started to turn in.

Not that clear cut. He had no overlap (3rd place) before turn in plus he was carrying too much speed. His car was pointed at the good year sign at the moment of collision. If he had not hit 2nd he would have hit first's left side bumper.

A different perspective will help but I doubt it will change the perspective enough to give 3rd place significant overlap before turn in. It's a dive, that could have been avoid by 2nd place if he had stopped turning and simply made way for the 'bully'. He might have been able to under cut him on exit, maybe not. It looked like 3rd was diving his car in there as a block.

I’ve just had 2 back to back races where I ended P2/P3, and got SR downs for touching on the apex...

Unfortunately, this is normal, this type of behavior is the norm in almost every race, to get only one position I am hit and pushed, not once I receiving a penalty and SR down for someone who got into me.

I've been using the X and Square button for throttle and brakes forever. In a car as powerful as Gr.3, you should not use TCS lower than 2.

*Edit. There are of course, exceptions. Depends on track and tires.
If you're really good, disregard. There's a dude I know of in Japan who blows my mind with what he can do using X, [ ], and D Pad.

Yeah I'll give it a go at TC2 for GR3. Just did the FIA race with GR4 Ferrari 458 with no TC on, was no problem.

Strangely, I can manage the GR1 cars with no issue at TC1, for time the GR3 are most difficult to master!

Is there a thread similar to this but for the FIA races? Just came 13th, race was ruined on lap 1, got dive bombed and was last with 12 sec behind 19th place. Going to try again this evening!

Even a barge pass is dirty pool. That being said, once they are unethically on the inside, you can't just ram them.

I wouldn't call that a barge pass. An opening was given and the guy in P3 took advantage of it. If P2 had held his line instead of going wide, there is no opportunity for the pass to be made there. I take that same shot if I'm racing every single time (and I did a bunch in Race C last night).

edit:

I'll also add that I've learned not to give space in those situations. What's fast qualifying isn't fast in a race, sometimes. The chicane at Fuji has been a good example of that for me since it's been up a lot recently. If you take the fast line there with someone behind you, you'll find their car in the apex when you go to turn in.
