Agreed, though at my level the examples are usually just poor driving. There is a responsibility to watch the car in front of you, including recognizing their brake lights if you are behind. Not all are as kind or respectful as you, to 'show' their nose inside to share their intention... though I also make a point to, if I think I can outbrake someone. At least not at the A/B rating line... expecting that if I get up into A/A+ range to see more of these non-verbal communications and more intelligent racing.

Another example of 'good' communication: in that same Sardegna race, was ahead of a Subaru who was rated quite a bit higher than me (shout out Jochavez217), and was clearly fast, but I was able to gap him on half the track. Problem was, he could close in on me harder in the other half. Two laps of him on my rear bumper, where he would lightly nudge me when my TT topped out, because he knew he couldn't cleanly pass me in the upcoming turns, so we worked together. I knew his intentions were not to press me, and I could maintain qualifying lines and pace, without worrying about him divebombing me unfairly.

I made a small mistake on the last turn entry after two or three laps of this, though, and since I respected him behavior the previous laps, willingly gave up the position rather than impede his momentum... he eventually pulled out to a small lead, and we both went on to finish without any pressure from behind.

You don't see much of this type of respect in the lower lobbies, but as you see more and more of it in the game in higher lobbies, it's a real nice thing and makes the game fun.

Also with lower lobby's or just not as skilled drivers you find they are reacting to people's brakes which is bad and they often forget to factor in the slipstream, in Fuji as an example I had a brake point for with and without slipstream so I knew I'd make a corner whatever the scenario

For example when I'm right behind someone in a long race and a gap behind I lift off before braking zones not much but just so I can not hit them, because you can always ease off the brake to close back up under braking and or focus on your exit to make the time back up

Where as less aware will tail gate you as close as they can and still try and brake at their marker not thinking if you'd brake at the same point
And if they are within a few tenths seeing the brake lights is too late to react
And by reacting it's usually a panic brake which triggers the abs more and causes your braking to be longer and eventually to hit the other guy not to mention the fact they would have slipstream and extra speed into the braking zone

I can't believe I'm as quick as I am in Race A. This version of Tokyo is definitely my favorite of the versions, but I normally don't enjoy driving road cars on SH tires. I know the Fugu Z is heavily modified, but I wasn't expecting it to grip like almost like a racecar. At the time of typing this I'm 19th fastest in the Americas, and less than 1.3s off the top time in the region. A 1.3s gap would normally be exceptionally good for me, and only achievable with tracks or cars that I really, REALLY like. While the Fugu Z definitely drives better than I thought it would, I wouldn't say it's a favorite of mine. Hopefully it'll make my climb back to mid/upper DR A a little quicker...only gained 3k last night to put me a few hundred shy of re-entering DR A, but hopefully I can still get to 40k before Saturday's FIA races.

Just being polite and giving a quick "hello"..."Hello!"

Been off GT since last October. Dipping my toe back in now and didn't want to be ignorant (well, no more than usual). Wouldn't want any old friends to see me in game and think I'm ignoring them.

Glad to see they gave me a new Aston to come back to. Had to dress it up of course...can't be racing naked.

Same... though a little slower and lower ranking, it seems to suit me really well. I like the cars that reward speed with more speed, as opposed to those that feel like you hit a wall. That car feels like you unlock cheat codes when you hit it right...

I was qualifying and had to do a double-take when I saw my current fast time jump up... after what I thought was good, clipped 0.8 sec off my time on a flyer, and left at least 0.400 on the table in the middle section. I know I've got a 2:21 in me, as I did it in a race without much of a tow. So while I was bumped from the top 100 today, thinking I can get back up there as I have beaten people in races who are ahead of me on the qualifying board, and I've backed up that flyer with several other close runs.

Also a great opportunity to kick off my ALT account... as soon as I can figure out what parental controls to revise on my 12-year old son's PSN to use (he doesn't plant the game... so I'll use that instead of making a fake account).

Yeah after what Monza did to me last weekend, once I get this account back to upper DR A, I might make an alt if another car or track that I really like makes it into the rotation so I can level it up quickly. Aside from literally any race at the ovals, the F1500T at Yamagiwa would be THE ultimate combination for me. One can only dream...

Yeah I believe most of these issues fall in line with mistakes/inexperience and so fourth.

For me I’ve made the mistakes enoughmyself, that I really try to avoid being to close behind a driver, going into any turn after a straight, from sheer speed of reaction time/slipstream. Usually letting off gas early, braking early, or moving from behind.

Gotten much better with this overall, and can do it, but I’m now trying to balance doing it properly and getting a good line without them breaking away from me, but always worth not crashing.

Race B has been tricky on the mountain - my biggest issue is someone in front of me slipping up - me braking - person behind me hits me - I hit person in front! Usually 1.5s penalty:(

I did get fishtailed by someone in race b yesterday, then watched them expertly do it to everyone else in front of me, with no penalties -_-. They started the next race behind me again, and I was super happy when they left before the race started lol

As ever, struggling to be consistent at Bathurst. There's a 2.04.5 in me but I cannot string the sectors together and am sitting on a qualy lap a full second slower than that.

What do you blokes make of this? Not outright dirty but a lot of subtle movement late as i try to pass. Three times he took the middle of the road and then moved to where I was passing. it's really subtle but poor form IMHO. He was ok after the race, we discussed it and i suggested that he needs to pick a lane earlier to which he agreed. It would also help if i did not bin it at the cutting on the first lap.

Improved my quali in Race C to a 1:49.611 in the Ferrari, 2 races yesterday gave me 1,200 DR each, today's 2 races gave me 400 DR each... I'm soo close to being an A rated driver! I don't think I can go any faster!

Yes if you want a Dr reset due to Sr dropping too many levels below your Dr then race at Monza. Does not matter much which version or what car you are in, it'll probably happen sooner rather than later and if it's a short race it's almost a certainty. ;)

:gtpflag::dopey:
I mean, just by looking at what we had for last week's C race, it was obvious that that race was going to be an SR reset fest.

@NevilleNobody PD decided to revive the Vipers after it was nerfed to the ground for 2 years. As a fellow Danger Noodle fan, I welcome this change.

It should work right of the bat 3+ age for GTS
Maybe not. PSN doesn't allow players under a certain age to play (most?) games online on PS4 regardless of parental controls and game rating. It used to on PS3 but the rules changed with PS4.

WHat's with the Viper suddenly being the car of choice? It feels a touch too loose for me
A recent BoP update made it accelerate like a cut cat and gave it back a decent top speed.

If you want to improve your time especially around a circuit like this with a corner speed and the earlier you can get on the throttle and carry the momentum through kind of corners

Use a ghost it works so well, cos you can judge your speed so much easier, and use them to benefit and try and chase them into the corners and out of the corners your times will drop well
Unless your like me and get to the final corner then Nail the wall on the exit cos I'm a complete spanner haha I can get a sub 20 if I didn't keep smacking that wall every time at the end of my lap

I seriously think the developers working on the penalty system need to spend some time racing in low SR lobbies. I have made it to low S, but the racing is shocking. I pitted to start to be way behind, but managed to make up 3.5 seconds before the second right handed. Guys in front were brake checking each other putting each other into the wall, blocking after mistakes. I wait to go after a penalty is served and the guy cuts the corner to hit me, I get the SR down. Driving like a patient person to stay at least 0.5 or more back to be clean and they are moving all over the braking zones.

End of the race I end up neutral SR for getting rammed as defense, they all get blue S. This is ugly. I have had a few races that were ok and clean, but this track is almost as nasty as Interlagos today.

Well just ran race c for the first time, little warmup, as always - started with the Toyota 86’ to learn the ropes. It’s like a ritual for gr4 for me, usually really slow compared to the pace, so I just play passive and learn lol.

Think I’ll enjoy it though! Looks like some good overtake spots, and some not so good ones to be wary of people on lol! Long gr4 race in general I think brings some fun racing.

You do learn to give and take, even from the 'takers', as you play more. In a Race C at Sardegna yesterday, I did have a guy who was 'more than optimistic' into the first hard right turn... while I was not happy that if I had not stepped aside for him, he would have rear-ended me and ruined my race, I was happier to 'give' him the spot when he managed to hold the apex and make the turn, rather than be hit. I eventually passed him again anyway, and enjoyed the race.

I've got to admit, I was leary of doing race C at all this week. Sure, when I first ran races on my 3rd account, penalties were all over the place. Even got one out of nowhere. Literally didn't see anybody, didn't cut the track, just poof! One second penalty. :irked: Anyway, I had the race I'm about to link to & let one guy go & also got a quick bump out of the way. At least I got the bump driver back a lap later. :mischievous:

If @Mistah_MCA is right, the Viper is being given some love but the Mustang is being punished as a counter decision. The Mustang & Viper act very similar, but feel so different when you're wheeling them. Mustang doesn't act like it wants to rotate, just plow. The Viper is loads better about rotating. That loose feeling helps to counter the plowing of the front tires. If it makes you feel any better, the Gr. 4 Viper isn't as nervous & loose feeling as the Gr. 3 snake.

So, this was my best race from last night.

Just seen a car in a race sliding left and right as if on a slider, well it was more like jumping as if the car was on 2 differant spots on the track, can anyone tell me what's that all about
Poor network connection. Can be really distracting. Not much you can do about it but stay clear and report it via the menu later, which doesn’t really do anything.

2nd race C was rough, a lot dirtier, but a large amount of unintended chaos.

pretty quickly I found myself in the back pack, and got hit several times by people who collided in the start, and weren’t very nice lol.

but waited for them regardless, some how ending up in front and atleast had people to race for the remainder, and it got much cleaner.

Did one race B... punted someone each lap.... really rough. The first too sucked cause it wasn’t on me, and took big penalties... the last one... totally my fault.

So rough night, but good few days overall! Goodluck

Weird you say that as my usual favourite, the merc, feels too tight. So tried a race in the viper, I can qualy with it but in the race......no.....too much sliding. Aontried the mustang and boom, I trim 3 tenths off my qualy lap and it is good to race with, more turn in than the merc.

Had 2 races to ight on the rear bumper of p1 but never managed a pass, I deserve a damn medal after racing so clean and never having a lunge. Instead I lost 10sr points in total...bleh

I'm glad I qualified for this one - lots of overdriving at the back of the field, I watched the replay and it would have been like taking a ride in a washing machine on the heavy duty cycle.

There were as many victims of the penalty system as there were victims of poor judgement. The driver in twelfth wasn't shy about divebombing though, did at least two blatant ones through the race.

This is what has been driving me batty about trying to race and keep my SR. The penalty system itself is often far more to blame for the problems than other drivers. As much as I enjoy racing tracks like Tokyo and Bathurst they are utterly ruthless tracks to race on as you are so often at the mercy of how cars react to the bumps and the walls. Good to see you going well though. I can't figure out that track well so still just avoiding it.

Scattered 3 races through the afternoon while on break from fence building duty. Total of 2 SR earned as I have bounced the wall a couple of times, but crazy lag spikes, insane wall bounces of other cars and some people trying to pass in crazy places. Getting a little Stockholm here as I am actually enjoying the race a bit more now.

Gotta love this game,, i spent half an hour throwing everything and feeling at the edge and i couldn’t go past 1.50.200 and after 10+ laps i managed 49.900 in daily race C, then i decided to go racing, i just casually did one lap not even at the edge , so relaxed before match making and i did a 49.600 , now im up 4 wins / 6 races Thanks to multiple poles it could’ve been 5 but i went wide in lap 6 and the guy behind got past and i could only bump draft him. and i cant figure out how aliens are doing 1.47s, my opt is 49.100 , maybe by friday Ill find those couple tenth

The Mustang has thee hardest suspension of the Gr.4 cars. It bounces on everything. However, it's got one of the tightest off-throttle turn-ins of the Gr.4 cars. Right after the Scirocco.

If PD programmed the dampers to be a bit softer, it would turn much better on high speed esses. A program like the WRX and RC F, would be ideal for the Mustang.

Edit: THink I could have been P2 in that one. MAde a last corner pass on the 458. See if I can post video.

Edit2: Man, these two sucka MCs in the last race. The 458 kept slamming into us at the 90degree corners. It was the same one(P8) I passed before the last corner pass in the video below

C7 is icy. Smooth. It's got grunt. Really love the feel of it in the esses after Stop Sign Hairpin. Choice ride.👍 @Jordan, we need a blowing kisses emoji. That's what I'd send to the C7. :D

The 650s didn think I'd catch up. I was on a mission.set my fastest laps on Laps 8 & 9. I went too deep at Bell Tower corner. Hit the wall. Still I clawed back from 1.4s to .8s by the PZ. Then, the 650 goes to wide, touches the kerb and looses control. God don't like ugly!

Of course the main culprits(15th & 20th) bail before posts can be raised(razed?).

Ok final dumb Monza start video.

Yes ok I'm at fault for one accident (disadvantage of bumper cam, hard to judge where exactly your front and wheels are) but it wouldn't have happened anyway without all the revenge pushing rubbish from the person I ended up accidently taking out and the weaving about them and everyone else were doing. Of course I didn't get a penalty but I got one for nothing before that, typical penalty system again. :irked:

Anyway enjoy the chaos and be thankful it's gone (at least at this level) for now and pray for a better penalty system in the future. :)
