The last lap of one of the Bathurst daily races. Just relearning this course so excuse some of the bad driving. The guy in the Mercedes was a tough guy to race, but last turn last lap I had a surprise for them!

Yea me either, that was a heat in the moment decision. That’s why I did let him by into the chase to try and set him up for a clean pass

Yeah, focus on learning to drive and race properly or you'll be like me having to restart again as I seem to be doing odd and ridiculous things for some reason. Always good to realize you are doing it and focus on getting back to good solid clean driving.
Of course even better not to slip at all, but oh well. Time to refresh my skills on consistency and smoothness.

You can't gain DR until you've done a minimum number of "probation" races. You will gain (and lose) SR during this period if I remember correctly.

Oh man... I trying my best... Starting from the back, even waiting a bit to everybody pull over, 3rd lap some accident in front, yellow flags, I keep my pace, 3s penalty... Thats crazy

What you mean you didn't defy physics and stop dead in less than half a second to avoid passing the "reset to track" car, no wonder you got a 3 second penalty for passing under the yellow flags.

What is the number or probation races? I have never heard this statement before. I have done 50+ and still riding a big 1DR. I don't think I am that bad a driver (not as bad as my DR history shows I think) just seem to place mid pack for most races,

I think it was 5 races (maybe 10). You're showing at 747 DR at the moment.

Yes, that was from the "Run in the Rain" the other night. What a fun race. So probation period is while you are a DR E driver then - makes sense.

What GOTMAXPOWER said. After the probation period, to gain DR you need to be (on average) in the front half of the field at the finish line. The closer you are to first, the more you gain. At midfield, if all the drivers are equal you'll neither gain nor lose more than a couple of dozen points. In last place, you'll lose a lot but you can't go below 1 point.

If there are a couple of drivers rated much higher than you in a race, the break even point moves towards the back of the field a place or two and you'll get more points at the front half of the field than you would in an even field. You'll also lose less in these circumstances if you happen to finish behind the break even point.

My stratagy so far is not to set a qualifying lap and to start as near to the back as possible and see if I can gain ground and to miss out as much as possible on the mayhem of the first 2-3 turns lol, I take it this is not the way to gain DR.

Good for SR, not so good for DR. The scoring system doesn't care how many drivers you pass, only where you finish. Assuming the same drivers in the same finish order, you'll get exactly the same DR points finishing fourth from a first place start as you would finishing fourth from a last place start.

Well I’m still enjoying race B, SR ping ponging all over S but it adds to the intensity.

Still a lot of unavoidable bad luck, but when your in a tough clean fight here, it’s really enjoyable!

Give C another go later, if I stay in these lobbies! Goodluck!

edit - lol fist race C, one of the first straights we come out 4 wide, I was in the middle getting bumped all over but stayed honest. Awesome clean race the remainer of the 10 laps!

I'm having fun at Race A. 4 consecutive clean races. If you can avoid divers at t1 and the dock carnage, it's a fun track.

Lol in 2 races of being rammed and bounced all over the place just lost all DR and down to Sr 7, got to love this game.

I had the distinct pleasure of entering some b races this morning and it was great to see some familiar faces venturing in country.
The racing was clean and fun! Go GTP!

Strangest thing happened in race A. Had pole with the quickest qualifying time.

Start of the race, I'm slap bang at the back of the grip. P10 or 10.

Managed to get up to P3 before we had even gotten out of the docks, on L1. Just wasn't quick enough to keep up with the first 2 guys.

Never seen that happen before.

Yeah, it was you. I didn't manage to save the replay, but I remember the name.

After that ended up in a lobby with a driver with a q time of 2:19.9. Was simply a case of trying to keep 2nd as he/she ran off to an easy win.

That’s about the only race I can do at lunch. Slowly getting back to 99 SR.
