It would be. :P It was a fun course in GT4, and with all the windy roads, it would make for a fun rally course. :)

Indeed, it is Amalfi:

I dont think it is Amalfi, as Monte Carlo has been confirmed as a location my money is on that being Monaco.

Yeah Codemasters games always look great.

What version you talking about?

Dirt 1 was a good game but terrible multiplayer. Dirt 2 was a great game. I missed the hill climbs from Dirt 1 but they did a great job with the multiplayer in Dirt 2. Looking forward to Dirt 3.

Right, firstly, I've put this here as theres no "Game Discussion" board where this could go. EDIT - Found it, but it works here too.

Ok. Today (11/11) I was invited to the world premier of DiRT3 in Cardiff by Codemasters, more on that later.

While there I was chatting with Helios about F1 2010. He told me hes pleased with the response the patch got, but also accepts there are some problems like being wrongly awarded penalties. We talked about ghost cars (F1:CE) but he said it made the races feel to dry. He also said the team is busy cracking on with 2011, so future patches seem unlikely.

I also, obviously, got to play DiRT3. I have footage of myself, Kris Meeke and Ken Block playing it but I can't show it until 17/11. But WOW! So if anyone has any questions for either game, ask away!

dirt 2 was a very fun and well made game, they added more weather, will there be more tarmac stages? better damage modeling? anything like that?

-Dirt 2 was great except content.
-Did they ditch most of the trucks?
-Are there more rally stages?
-Is gymkahana custom made courses?
-free camera on replays?

Moved to the correct place. We also have a whole other forum dedicated to F1 2010, so this thread is just about Dirt3.

How about the cars floating on the track thing? Have physics improved since Dirt 2 or they still aiming for a rather arcade-ish game?

First, thanks Daan.

Ok, I'll answer all I can.

GreyFox666 - Worldwide release date is Q2 2011, anytime between April and June I was told. They want to pull it out of the autumn so it has less to compete with.

Gabkicks - I trashed the Gymkhana Fiesta as well as speaking to the lead car designer, I can confirm damage is much improved on DiRT 2. Each car panel picks up individual damage. As for tarmac, I don't know, but 60% of the game will be rally.

Grafpt - Far fewer trucks, 60% of the game will be rallying, gymkhana courses cannot be adjusted, I dunno about the replays sorry.

Bram Turismo - Cars are definitely more simulation. Very twitchy. I drove the Group B Quattro through Finland and had to fight it at every turn. Definitely a huge step up in realism.

Hope I helped guys.

Awesome!! Looks like high hopes for this and will hopefully be exciting for online as well.

Any crazy fantasy cars, this time? Like the BMW Z4, Mitsubishi Eclipse and 350Z from Dirt 2 and the Audi TT and Lotus Elise from Dirt 1?

Only one of those I can confirm is Z4. But they've also gone old school - Lancia Delta, Mini Cooper, Escort Cosworth, Audi Quattro etc. Emphasis is much more on realism this time.

This sounds pretty sick to me. If its a nice balance of realism and accessible like F1 2010 then it should be fantastic. I really enjoyed Dirt2 and this sounds like it going in the right direction.

Any idea of system specs for PC??

I'm pleased it's more realistic because there hasn't been a decent rally game for a long time really. Good to see the choice of cars, and the original Mini. I will probably get this after TDU2.

Well a huge plus will be ability to at least run the stages reverse, that will help immensely for online leagues and such. I had a DiRT2 league and it failed basically due to there only being 12 stages to rally on.

DiRT 3 ?! Damn yes ! Anything on GRID 2 ?
So it is a little bit less over the top than DiRT 2 (although I liked that) ?
And are we getting some more tracks like the one in Utah ? Loved that one with the Dallenbach.

I don't think we will hear anything about GRID 2 for a while. Codemasters said there is 1 last DLC planned for it, so maybe they will announce it after they have got DiRT 3 out the way. I would definitely like to see it though.

SuperShouden - I don't know. X-Games in DiRT 2 was rallycross and thats definitely returning, but I'm not sure about the X-Games in particular sorry.

BeardOfChuck - More a return to DiRT than DiRT 2 - Less American, less showy, more substance and realism.

As for GRiD 2, they've started some work but it won't be announced (shown) until around or just after DiRT 3 releases. They're aiming for a summer 2012 release I believe.

I'm actually looking forward to playing DiRT 3 since DiRT 2 was such a good game, plus the career mode should focus more on Rallying like the original Colin McRae games or DiRT 1 rather than Buggy or Baja Truck racing. I hope the online racing is as good as it was on DiRT 2 as well.

Excellent, thanks for the info.👍 Have you played Richard Burns Rally?, I know it's still early days yet but i'd like to know if the physics are anything like that game's.
