Having had a DFPro and G25 (same as DFGT snd G27) I say if you don't get a G27, do not waste money on a DFGT because it is not a quality product and will fail way earlier than it should. My experience and many others confirm it.

I'd just put that money aside and keep saving until you can afford a better wheel. My G25 is still going strong after many years of thrashing- very high quality construction.

The DFP and DFGT pedals are complete garbage and very poorly designed- it puts pressure on the POTS and they fail. The wheel bearings and gears will develope a lot of play and become useless before a year with moderately heavy use. Just my experience.

Now all I have to do is decide which system I should but DiRT 3 for. So far I'm leaning towards getting the 360 version, but I'm not sure yet.

Easiest way... What platform do your racing fans play on? done.

Not true.

I've never owned a DFPro, but by brother has one and my DFGT is WAY better than that thing. His makes all sorts of racket, and the DFGT is much quieter, better quality, and has never let me down.

^ Any need for that.

It's alright, I hate him to with every fibre of my being and will continue to trash him in everything we do in life 👍.

Hopefully I can make some trades/sales and then use the money to get Dirt 3 and get the old GTP group back together (PS3), bring back the serious racing and of course the carnage runs. My main hope is simply that we get the same amount of customisation with the unranked rooms (ranked doesn't matter), everything else is looking good.

Preorder bonus posted to atleast amazon and gamestop. 4 cars with team specific livery, 4 bonus events and higher rep at start.

Amazon - team Yokohama
Gamestop - team texaco

They are mechanically the same. Go take it apart and look at the internals. The Pedals are both the same mechanically.. both self destructive.

"and has never let me down" Just wait.. You'll see.

I had DFPro for several years and it did not break on me, in fact i gave it to my nephew last Christmas. So it is works fine, and lasts for a while.

I now have a G27 and DFGT, with it's own folding cockpits. I use them to play with my friends when they come over. G27 is great, DFGT seems to have it's roots from DFP, and since my DFP lasted a long while, i say DFGT should be just as sturdy.

I think it all depends on your budget, and when you get more money later you'll always feel like you should have waited, that always will be the case.

I also had a fanatec for about 1 week, unfortunately it broke on me and i had to return it.

I also agree. I upgraded from the DFP to DFGT and its night and day. The deadzone is really the only complaint I have with it. Very excited to use it on Dirt 3.

I hope they remain true to their word and include T500rs wheel support (they said it in an interview with InsideSimRacing). My plan is to obviously get the PS3 version because my favorite wheel should hopefully be supported. I hope the controls are pretty nice and the FFB blows my socks off :dopey:

Am I the only one who thinks that this Gymkhana thing is useless?

Not sure if your the only one. I can take it or leave it. I never bother with drifting in any other game.

The is certainly a gap in the Market though and I am sure there are gymkhana fans out there. Who are we to deny them some spotlight.

It looks like it could be fun, but it's not the sole reason why I'm looking to buy the game. And it's not like the game has a heavy emphasis - more than half the game is rallying, with everything else crammed into the remaining 40%. Gymkhana looks like it will be a good way to chill out when the rest of the game loses a bit of its shine.

Since it's a new gameplay mode, Codemasters are obviously playing it up - but DIRT 3 is still first and foremost a rally game.

I watched that interview and really loved it. I'm not sure if it could've been any better. I love how the ISR guys are all bout racing, handling, etc. I like how he got clear confirmation of steering wheel support

Another new trailer, showing off some unseen (until now) cars such as the Opel Manta and what may possibly be a "tandem" Gymkhana mode.

What's happening with the UK PC retail dvd release?

Amazon, Play.com, shopto etc etc haven't listed it yet. Even F1 2010 had a short disc release, surely Dirt 3 will? Don't want a Steam version but if Codemasters can't be arsed with a disc version then I may buy Dirt 3 whenever its £5 on Steam.

There is a disc version coming out. I've already pre-ordered and paid for it at EB Games. You might want to try going to the actual retailer rather than ordering online.

Went ahead and preordered from Gamestop. Why does it say "by THQ" on both Amazon and Gamestop?

Probably a screw up on their part? That VIP code is dangerously alike EA's notorious Online Pass. Though it won't affect me, I really dislike how publishers resort to this.

gymkahana is not useless. Its a fun factor, nothing more. But they know with the success of Ken's videos being Gymkahana, it will help sell. As long as there is lots of rally idc :) Gymkahana will just be fun.

I really have no problem with it, they don't make money by people buying/selling games used and have found a way to make some of it back.

I've seen a super teams edition of dirt 3 with more liveries but it doesn't seem to be for sale.

There isn't a PC UK disc version online or at a store.

I read yesterday on the twitter that UK won't get a disc version but other regions such as mainland europe will.

Really crap that UK isn't getting one and the only option is to import an EU version.

Apparently codies blame the retailers but there's many recent examples of much much lower profile PC games still getting a disc version here in the UK. Seems like we're being forced to go digital download.:(
