You don't really answer anything by saying God made it happen.
The question then becomes "how can god come from nothing?"

If you answer that with "I don't know", you should just save a step and answer the question "But how can life come from nothing?" with "I don't know"

God has always existed, and always will exist

I've said this before. God can't be proven in scientific ways and I'm fairly sure that's what niky wanted

And as said before by multiple people in this thread, the scientific method is the only way we have of definitively testing/proving anything that is present in the entirety of existence. And as such if God does indeed exist then he should be detectable by those means.

God has always existed, and always will exist

Another baseless assertion that in know way proves anything. How convincing..

God has always existed, and always will exist

Equally I could say that life has always existed, and always will exist.

I think it's incredible that you can tell me god has always existed and always will. How could you possibly know?

How do you know that?

@TJC_69
Why would I worship a unicorn?
Here's why:
... there is also a dimension of unicorns, but it too is unreachable through science, only through faith.

It absolutely does exist. If you don't acknowledge the existence of this dimension, bad things will happen to you.

Now, most people don't know about the unicorn dimension because, well, the unicorns don't want to let just everyone into rainbow land, but they've given me permission to spread the word because they don't have enough people to party with.

So if you don't worship unicorns, you will have to endure an eternity of bad things.

And why wouldn't you worship them? It only takes a minute every day and you get to go to an awesome unicorn dimension.

How do you know that?

Because the scientific method works for anything present in the entirety of existence, and as such if God does exist (and is therefore a part of existence) he should be detectable by the means of the scientific method.

Church Tradition, the Catechism, the Bible (can't remember which verse)

And what exactly makes these reliable sources? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and none of these are, by any means, extraordinary.

Church Tradition, the Catechism, the Bible (can't remember which verse)

Well that was convincing. I mean, you really had me at the part where the core basis of your beliefs is depends on a verse you can't remember, so...

Praise Allah.

I mean,
Hail Mary.

I mean,
Bless His Son.

That is right, right?

But you have the wrong religious beliefs. Unicorns exist, and you will be tortured forever for not worshipping.

God doesn't even exist.

I can't prove it because the scientific method doesn't detect unicorns, but it's definitely true. I know because lots of people believed in unicorns for a long time, and I saw a TV show about them once (forgot what it was).

that's worshipping something that's not God and goes against my religious beliefs

But unicorns are gods, trust me it is the truth. The almighty purple unicorn has revealed himself to me and declared himself a god!

That ^ honestly is as credible (which is not credible at all until evidence is provided) as you saying the same for your god.

Have you tried to remember Bible verses when it's very late at night?

I generally don't bother to remember specific verses off the top of my head, but I can certainly look them up in moments with the power of the Internet when I want to check things.

And you've failed to acknowledge any of the other points I've made in the past couple of pages of posts.

Yep ^^ . Same weight as the God exists argument .

Both stories are awe inspiring .
Both stories are man made .

Thats not how God is, he is slow to anger (check the book of Psalms, it's mentioned many times)

Sorry. Would you be so kind as to point out what those are? I need to get to bed now so I'll do it tomorrow

I know God is slow to anger, I've read the Bible as well. He also had a tendency to take names and kick ass in the good ole days as well, but that isn't brought up as much.

I have nothing in particular that I was referring to. People often cite parts of the Bible to validate their claims without actually being clear on the text, and it is fairly easy to check those against the various versions stored online. Most commonly this comes up in regard to the Trinity and the part of John that is cited as evidence of it.

I've been through similiar indoctrination.

You must realise this is a myth,

Here is the GTP Version:
Jordan (Site Founder aka GTP_God) creates GTP,
He allows 2 members to join. Called GTP_Adam & GTP_Eve.
GTP_Eve posts in the Apple sub-forum. Which Jordan hates!

Jordan decides everyone that joins GTP from now on deserves to be banned.
Instead of forgiving GTP_Eve, he waits till his son, GTP_Jesus joins GTP and then bans him.

Now everyone still deserves to be banned but he doesnt have to Ban all the members or future members and all they have to do is PM him with the subject "I love you" .. and some thanks and praise in the message body every now and again.

Would you say it was fair and just to punish GTP_Jesus for GTP_Eve's post in the Apple Subforum?

What about everyone having to PM Jordan telling him they love him?

So I take it you don't want any proof then.

I'm a Christian and I know that Hinduism isn't the basis of the Bible (no offense to Hindus) and most Jews don't believe in Jesus as the Messiah

@TJC_69
How's that an opinion? It's logic. (and i did quickly skim that article you provided a link to, and it looked like a bunch of hypotheses.)
Does it matter if I'm a younger person?

Jews believe in Yahweh, the God of Jesus. Jesus is the Messiah of the Jews, the awaited second coming.

Of course modern Jews don't believe in Jesus, because those Jews who did believe in him started calling themselves Christians.

Doesn't matter much. Christianity is still, at its core, a Jewish sect. Just like Islam is. They all believe in the same God. The only difference is they have differing views on the divinity of Jesus Christ. And at least a few sects that follow the Christian Bible still believe in the teachings of Christ but not his divinity, pointing out, quite rightly, that Jesus never claimed to be God. (Go ahead, read the Bible through)

He claimed merely to be a "Son of God". Quite a big difference, because, when you get down to it... if you're a believer, you believe that God created man. Hence, we are all "Sons of God".

Logic is this:

All vampires are liars.

Edward is a vampire.

Edward is a liar.

Perfectly logical, but not proof of the existence of vampires.

Not really treading new ground here. And we're not even re-treading old ground in any profound manner.
