I doubt GT6 will release on PS3. There is word of the 360 replacement having started development and the next xbox to be release in the next 2/3 years, which im sure sony will follow in a year or two and I cant see PD pushing out GT6 in the next couple of years when the PS3 is about to be replaced and I cant see sony allowing them to do that either

I dont beleive PD had started GT6 as they said when GT5 went gold

Most important to me right now is In Race Endurance Saves. The rest I am more than happy with.

+1 The main thing I am waiting on is the saves. Everything else is tolerable, at least for me. I am ready to jump into some endurance races, but patiently waiting on the saves. Hopefully they will come soon, but at the same time I understand they probably have a lot on their plate at the moment and will for some time.

I answered "yes", and wish I could've voted more than once!

GT5 has been out a mere four months or so. There's far too many bugs and near-essential omissions in GT5 that PD should appropriately address via updates - of course factoring in their availability to do so given the current situation over there in Japan.

(I'm not even talking about "additional" content like additional or converted Standard-to-Premium cars, more Photo Tour mode locations, and additional tracks - although that stuff would be nice. I'm talking about things like save points in Endurance races, rewind/fast-forward controls for replays, proper paint previews, and a fair, non-exploitable gift/trade system that doesn't restrict users because it was exploited.)

For a game that's reputation is so highly based on realism and attention to detail, there's far, far, far too many details that have been overlooked.
(OK, some of those details might have been intentionally overlooked due to platform-induced restrictions, but I can't see how something as basic as rewing/fast-forward functions for replays would fall under that category...)

Even if they can get GT6 to us three years after GT5 was released (a blistering pace given the time between GT4 and GT5), that's still thirty-two months that we all have to wait for the things we've been left to do without in GT5.

If I'm asked this question a year or two from now, I might have had a different answer. However, like I said, it's just been four months!

C'mon, PD, get to fixing GT5 (when you're able) - or you're going to have less people willing to move forward with GT6 after being let down by GT5!

Peace...

Is it common that a costumer that bought a game can demand updates to that game so that it is to their liking? I don't think so. That's actually rude. Don't get me wrong I like to get updates (especially the seasonal races) but there's nothing wrong with this game.

I'd like to see continued updates to fix and improve the general experience, get the core close to finished.

Actually just give me the ability to save during Endros and Championships, dynamic weather on most/all tracks and an event creator.

More tracks? Nah, finish the ones we have. More premo cars, would be nice, but I can live without it.

Unless GT6 is coming out in July, I want more patches. This game has gotten boring. So many things missing, load times are horrible and, just, too many things wrong to even bother mentioning. It's all been said before. Really, it would take a 7gb patch to fix this game. It needs too many new features and a complete restructuring of the game! It'll never be fixed by a simple patch or even 10 patches. I think the GT6 may actually be the "patch" we need. I change my mind. No patches.

I'd prefer they focus on making GT6 a game with the game play and features that the GT community wants, i.e., start listening closely to your customers at the start of development rather than as an afterthought once the game is essentially complete.

Isn't that perfection ! :dunce:

Of course I want more updates.

I want the net code improving.
I want the track creator improving.
I want more proper tracks.
I want dynamic weather/time across all tracks.
I want wet roads to look wet.
I want the smoke parameters fixing.
I want the in-game steering wheel to turn properly.
I want less convoluted menus.
I want the car info in 2-player mode to be accurate.
I want to be able to run a spec-cup online with any car of my choosing.

I don't think there's anything there that we didn't expect to see in the initial release.

More cars would be nice, but I don't care about Premiums all that much, especially when the shadows ruin their appearance with constant flickering anyway.

So people that are saying we need lots of updates, aren't really waiting for GT6?

Like I said, I believe that updates are pretty much a necessity, not even so much to expand the game (which would be nice, but kind of a fleeting wish at this point) but to address what hopefully were obvious omissions and the numerous bugs and stuff that still remain in this four-month old game that largely is incredible - it just falls short in a few key places.

Should I have to wait year(s) plus buy another game and hope that the new game has what the old one should have had?

Pardon the language, but 🤬 no!

I can see the tag line now:
GT6: The real "what GT5 should've been" simulator.

Peace...

At this point they need to just focus on making GT6 the game that GT5 was supposed to be. They need to ignore all calls for further fluff like paints or graphical improvements and take what they have now and actually make a racing game out of it. Improvements to netcode and adding things like classes and a proper leaderboard system for people who actually care about racing rather than making pretty pictures should be TOP priority.

Of course, it won't be, and GT6 will probably just continue down the same road of casual pleasing eye candy and photo mode gimmickry.

I just feel like there's no need for new premium cars, or any other updates anymore... They won't fix the game, or make it more fun. I'd rather have PD concentrate on GT6 and deliver a solid game. What do you think?

They will work on GT6 when Sony tells them to. It would be best they focus on making GT5 better and worry about GT6 when PS4 has ideal Schedule. Sony needs to have a top of the line racer for the launch.

For anyone who wants GT6 to just come out think about it. You want to shell out another 60$ for a game that is more then likely NOT going to be finished? Why don't you go buy a Call of Duty game and support the same remix crap every year. Gran Turismo 5 is a Diamond in the ruff. It takes time to see it shine. We wait 5-6 years for it why the rush for another one?

I wouldn't mind current free updates for the time being then a pay 2.0 update which is basically a full revision of GT5.

Leave GT6 to the PS4.

Ok, fix the bugs in GT5 where they should of never been released or wait and hope for a better GT6 like before when we all waited and hoped for GT5 for so long? {holds out both hands and starts to juggle}

Um, whatever.

They MUST do other "corrections" .. I repeat .. they MUST!

This GT is too far from the "Logical essence" of Gran Turismo ... yet!

Actually I want to see GT6 on the next console. I'm sure it won't be at least another 6 years before it happens though. I think PD should just do updates until the next generation comes along.

I disagree 100% for GT5 is a solid game. Yes, it's not perfect.

I am not sure to what those who throw the word "fun" out mean, if by fun you mean challenge, go online, find a race league. That alone will offer challenge and fun.

There are plenty of things to update GT5 with, and there are plenty of threads that offer fine examples of what needs to be done.

Not really...I've been playing for months and worried sparsely about updates because it's the little things. I'll still play the game, and I'm not going to pressure them, especially with the turmoil going on in Japan. Whatever they decide to do, give 'em a break about it. Polyphony Digital isn't some superhuman megatechnology company that works to your whim.

Yes. GT6 should appear in the next generation if posible. And GT5 must be updated through patches and downloadables (new premium cars,...).

Of course I want moar :D

Visual flaws need to be fixed (smoke, dust, shadows)...

We need more premium cars (Veyron, please :))

And finally, we need more events in A-Spec mode... Don't get me wrong... seasonals are a good complement... but they should have been in the game since day one as A-Spec Events...

I want my five years worth of waiting to actually have been worth it.

Not that I'm complaining, but the game certainly didn't look like it took 5 years to finish (not in the polish department anyhow). And updates have amended some of the larger glaring flaws, I just hope this trend continues.

The way I see it GT5 has so much potential that it hasn't reached. Online updates allow more of the potential to be realized. I think the game is better now than when it came out.
