Biased turkey
I hope so,.
They could use the straight line of the test course in reverse mode. This way the drag fans would have at least 3 tracks, so why are they complaining ?

First off Biased, if you do not like the idea, well TOO BAD. Do not complain so much, PD does not give a **** if they disappoint one fan. With these drag strips, they will impress much more fan then they disappoint trust me. I know a person who is going to buy GT4 mainly because drag is included; also that its will be available online. However, I know having drag strips will bring more fans, which is all-good.

You seem to think that PD is wasting space by adding those drag strips. I however disagree, and I bet the majority is behind me. If they can fit games like GTA3 Vice City and all that on a DVD I am sure GT4 would fit also. I do not think they are going to run out of space, or have a lack of space due to the fact that they added some drag strips/tracks.

yeah seems like more people like the idea about drag racing then the others who dont like it... as long as im able to drift im happy lol unless they change something then i ought taa!!!!!! j/k lol  well the drag racing videos where great the graphic are way better then any game i seen so far....

If you ask your buddy John (me), I think there is a such thing as automatic drag cars. At least I think. I've heard of drag racing events here in America that take automatics. So even though I'm not a very good manual/standard person (would be a shame. NEED that in road racing), I'd have to hit the mark at the right time.

Not to go off-topic, but I think GT should have "Racing Clinics" to aid people in completing simple racing tasks such as acceleration, braking, cornering, drifting, rally racing, and even manual shifting. Of course, if you're not good at any aspect in GT, you can always have time to improve on them. What do you think?

I think that's very good idea (the clinic thing). Actually, it would be very easy on GT4 if Online multiplayer is available, and there would be the use of a microphone, such as on the XboxLive System.

Could organise some 6 heads Training track races where everyone follows the 'Leader' or 'teacher' to better understand - with vocal input mind you - all functions of a car, and the track. Then, the 'Leader' could go on following one of the racer (one by one) to better study and correct 'him'.

I'd love to do that.

Drag racing should force manual gears, include a clutch (optional, they could use the handbrake button) and it should be great online.
Excellent idea. And if you let go of the clutch or handbrake too early, you'll get disqualified for red lighting the christmas tree. What's the point of a christmas tree if you can't get disqualified?

Even NFSU forced manual gears, I don't think you can really hold a drag race without doing so. God it's not exactly hard. Light flashes, you hit the R2 button - you won't need to turn or downshift or anything, I'm sure people can cope.

We have no idea over the actual logistics of the game data so theorising that drag racing doesn't consume much disc space or is at the expense of something else is simply that - a theory.

Edit: I'm gonna be surprised if you can jump start, it'd certainly make the element of anticipation greater. How do you propose we measure that jump start however? Do we take the predetermined human response time used for Formula 1 starts? Or would that by physically different because of the nature of the exercise? Do we have 0 delay whatsoever and leave it to the player to predict and react as quickly as possible? Do we have a random or predetermined amount of time before the lights change?

Player reaction time would be the most realistic....holding down the x and square buttons at the same time and when the chrissy tree goes to the green light let off the square button. Not sure how PD would get this working right though because some people would have trouble 'redlighting'.

I'm sure there will be. Maybe a burnout too, to get the tires hot and sticky. I hope there will be an ample supply of tire smoke for the crowd to choke on! 👍

hmmmm.........so far the drag track doesn't give us any indication of whether Las Vegas is going to be more than just a drag strip.....I hope that PD does an actual track.....even if it were to go in a circle or somthing......This would be a cool Las Vegas circuit catching all the sites!! tell me what ya think :D Follow the red line.....the blue crossing line is stop finish at the drag strip......and look, u even would get turns and the one chicane with my track!

I really recon that PD should do a full circuit Las Vges track like the one I showed on the previous page......with the drag track you see hardly all of the city.....

Robin

Yeah, Vegas is quite a sight and racing around the streets would be quite something.

Having a full lap in Vegas is a must....is as important to see the whole thing as to see a track like Monaco.....or even the nurb

you don't just race 1/4 mile up the first hill in Monaco do you!

I recon that if the ones on the Las Vegas strip are in I don't see why the rest of the buliding would not want to be included??.......I'm sure that they would pay PD to be in the game.....its good advertising for them.....and it would make an ace track.

hmm.....maybe photomode wil have a wider area of Las Vegas to choose from...

besides I very much doubt that whilst PD were there that they didnt take Photo's and gather info on the other bulidings......even if it were for reference.....

 what are you drinking?

I´m wondering the same thing..

But does anyone know how is this going to work? Will they finally add teh Neutral gear. And if so, it would be great if you could choose the reverse when downshifting from neutral..

Sorry - is there actually a track through Las Vegas? Like is there actually a race held there these days? Cause someone mentioned you don't drag up the hill at Monaco and there's a pretty big difference between the two.

I'd rather a whole lap of the place than a drag. Who knows what we'll get.

Regardless of the drag strip continuing to form a track or not, Im so damn glad that PD put the drag mode in finally. I cant believe that some people here are complaining, its just another race mode, so be happy with it. You know its gonne be fun, or it wouldnt be in the game.

Lets just hope they capture the feel of real dragging....
