drift faster than grip

In real life i have a black rps13 set up for drift and yes i drift quite often where i live in new hampshire where there are moutain roads everywhere..i also own a eagle talon awd with a 4g63 which i "grip" around everycorner because 4wd is fun but stupid unless you dont care about crashing cause once 4 wheel peel slides sometimes it cant come back < especially if you think braking will help Hint: tip the pedal> I also own a MK2 gti that i autocross and race on these same roads...every car has to attack corners different and you know what there is a 90 degree turn at the bottom of a large hill and the FF GTI I ebrake it and slide the rear end while heel toe braking to keep the rpms up and the front tires in control...and the corner is toasted everytime...now if i gripped it with the gti ff id exit the turn to slow... the talon i grip everytime but still keeping the rpms up for the turbo to spool ..and with the RPS13 i sliiide the ride...now the question is which is faster...well hmmm no clue maybe the rps13...why because of the turn itself...because i said LOL

What year and engine is yours?

Eagle talon <topsecret> but it runs 13s all day and corners like a mofo lol

Fellow WA eh? VW's are popular here! How the hell do you downhill race in WA? The roads here suck so bad... not to mention the drivers! I had to go to OR this weekend just to get some good driving in. Mt Hood has some crazy roads if you explore it a little!!

I live in Skagit County, so I usually drive Chukanut drive or up and down Mt. Baker. You would be suprised how many good places to drive there are around here. You should come up some time and drive Chukanut. ;) Did you go to Waterwagens in Kent Sep 1st?
 
No I didn't, I mostly roll with the Nissan/Toyota crews in this area because it's been my experience that the rest of the so-called enthusiasts around here are stuck-up pricks out to prove something. BTW, the NorthWest Nissans & HachiRoku.Net are going to do a meet somewhere in that area so that we can cruise Chuckanut at some point in the next month or two, you should come with us! when any of your GT3 cars or even reallife cars can even come close to smoking mine then I will till then....makin it bounce plus its not gay the fact that you cant dig bouncing anime boobies that say nissan is gay ...

Oh man, this is my first post in months, and this is the first thread I came back to. What happened? Where have all the good discussions gone? I'll go check out the challenges again, bengee. We'll see what we can do about this thread again...

when i see Tsuchiya in Best Motoring battling on the Touge..i RARELY see him drift. SAME for Orido...

have you ever even seen Keiichi attack a Touge??? May want to watch Best Motoring, and keep your eyes on his tires.

If you think drifting is simply "squalling the tires" that sound is the sound of the tires at their maximum grip capacity! NOT drift!

well he barely drifts, what you saw is only a little countersteer from the back of his 86 GTV sliding.. and I remeber the time he won against the BNR34 :D
 
well drift is faster in tight tight hair pins... in rally u will often see the driver use their handbrake to break traction... but i dunno if u wud call that drift any way.
 
At least up to page 14--that's where most of the original arguments were. I'm surprised people still find this thread after long periods of being on page 2, though.
 
Grip = Faster than Drift
Drift = Funner that Grip
Funner = more fun to say than, "more fun."

This has probably been said already, but I don't know so that's what matters.
