Well I think I'm going to back it on KS for the $85 as its such a great game. I've been playing with the PS3 controller on the mac and it works fully, including triggers and sticks.

I happened to see this game when someone was streaming it last friday, and all I can say is that I'm extremely impressed. Not only does the game have an Initial D- esque soundtrack, which is a show I love dearly, but it also channels the spirit of old retro arcade games like Outrun and Ridge Racer. Game plays solidly, and plays really well with my Xbox One controller.

Backed this. Awesome game.

$19,235!!! They're so close, with 28 days left!

Scratch that, the $20.000 barrier has been throughly thrashed! Only 9.000 or so are left for the project to hit its goal.

Also, amongst the backers ther is a celebrity. Well, to me at least. Remember the YouTube channel "World of Longplays"? You see, Gerhard "ScHlAuChi" Weihrauch, one of the people responsible for the channel, has also backed the game! And he's requesting for a physical soundtrack, guess he also loves Myrone's work...

Tell me about it. Need to be pixel perfect on every corner with as much speed as possible.

And you if even hit a small part of a barrier, you can kiss your chances of beating it goodbye. The game gets full relentless when you reach the expert level...

I can't believe it, they're already more than two thirds funded and they've got a month left to go. That's insane. I've seen successful Kickstarters but nothing this successful from otherwise unknown devs, as far as I remember. There's clearly demand for this kind of thing, it seems like the entire gaming industry has been so hung up on realism that they forgot how to make fun games like this.

Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets excited about even just staying within a car length of the expert ghost for a couple of corners! IIRC 1:21.8 was my best time but I'd have to check. It's either that or 1:22.8. "Sadly" it doesn't recognise my G27!

I'd say not even the devs saw such sucess coming. This game, in my mind, is a lot like the Mazda MX-5 story; two guys get together and rememeber the good old days. Then they ask one another "What if we did something similar, but more modern?". And then they create a modern take on an old idea. Not to mention that as you said, arcade racing games have been inactive as a genre for the past years. Games like Outrun, like Ridge Racer. The past has sold many new games as of late because more and more people value this sort of good nostalgia. I myself bought Double Dragon Neon and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon because I wanted to see how '80's gamers had their gaming fix. All of this explains the game's sudden sucess.

Yeah, the game is so enjoyable you'll have the best time even when you're just chasing ghosts! Even when you feel frustrated, you just want to drive more and more... Also, steering wheels don't work with game? Odd....

Funded! Great :)

Testarossa seriously is a must have, either in white or in red

Great indeed, that's one major hurdle crossed off the list. Here's hoping that they continue that way. 👍

And I also agree, a red Testarossa needs to be a car on the game's list.

I think I figured out what's wrong, I had attempted to change the controls for keyboard. That didn't work so well, and I can't reset the controls to default so I'm re-downloading it lol

Nope, still nothing.

EDIT 2: I re-installed the controller, works fine. It was getting power but the system wasn't recognising it was 'active'.

Sure, you can back as long as the campaign is live and will get a reward.
The devs announced an update on Kickstarter coming soon, maybe they'll talk about stretch goals or introduce some more rewards

They have already spoken about those two topics; they aren't planning on doing stretch goals because they feel those may cause the game to stray off their planned objectives and they're still considering whether or not new rewards should be created.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Did someone say BMW M3 E30!?

And Eurobeat!?

Yeah they said they're not talking about strech goals for now I thought

E30's great tho

EDIT
Some people have been asking about additional reward tiers or add-ons. We’re considering what might make sense right now, and we’ll update you if we make any additions.
We’re not even going to think about stretch goals until after our current goal is met, and even after that, we may still not do any stretch goals. We have a pretty clear vision for Drift Stage, and we don’t want to drastically alter our vision or the project’s scope just to accommodate stretch goals.
You were right about that but the fact that they will collect more money in the next 25 days makes me think about what they will do with that. Why not just make a new car for every 2500$ and a new track for every 5000$ or something like that?

Perhaps it's wise on their part. The more goals you set during the game-making process, the more delayed it becomes. It might be better to have a few clear goals than overdoing it and adding more problems along the way. My 5 cents.

Reading from your edit words, perhaps they can use the rest of the donations to further develop new cars, tracks and songs. And the remaining modes for the game.

And yes, need to hear that Eurobeat song. Curse you, university! End so that I can listen to the song!

They may use additional funding to develop/implement features that they won't announce beforehand so as to blow our socks off.

Whereas if they say "oh we're gonna do X, Y and Z" yet only deliver on say Y then people will be miffed.

Exactly. It's better to deliver a proper X than try to do three goals and flop at all of them. As I said, it's a wise move on their part. They are a team of three people, after all.

It's best to use additional funding to improve the game's current features.
