Drifting vs. Track vs. Drag

Well the title gives it away however I am going to break it down into two categories.

1.To Do

2.To Watch

For me I like drifting for watching and actually racing but that is just me

Have to go with the Skyline, since once tuned properly, it will destroy nearly anything on the track or in drag. But it suffers in drifting due to it's advanced stability control systems and 4WD (although I'm told that it can be converted to rear wheel drive by simply removing a fuse somewhere).

Yah thats right you can convert it to rear wheel, but the Skyline is more suited to Wangan (high way racing) and drag. Just by any chance did any of you guys go to see D1 GP at Irwindale, it was awesome I lost my voice from screaming "one more time!"

Ok guys let me clear this up...I put the poll there so I can see what type of cars you guys like but the main topic is what do you like more DRIFTING, TRACK, or DRAG thats it. Oh and possibly what car you own and any mods

I think track is the most fun.

Drifting follows, only because it's a harder, more dangerous (to the car, it's actually safer for the driver), sport, and not as fun because of that.

Drag comes last. The only fun part of drag is the whole kicking ass element. Th race itself isn't particurlarly interesting.

ARGGHH! Youve got the "Drag" and "Track" going in the thread name yet all the cars in the poll are Imports. Cmon!! When I saw drifting beside drag and racing i figured there would be some imports in the drift division but the track and drag should have some sort of american or euro cars going.. should be atleast some real muscle in here but i guess i was wrong. Where's my 360 spider when i need it

Id go with an Alltrac Celica or the WRC Corolla. Im a toyota man Have my first Corolla and i like it so far, but it is lacking in hp/torque like all imports that are fwd.

Imports are cars that come from other countries . If you are refering to only asian cars, say the companies not just imports.

My I like drag racing, always have. Just the thrill of the short amount of time it takes you to shoot down the track.

Next I'd say the track is fun, but in a SUV it's kinda pointless to try and make it around since you gotta be slow so you don't roll your ass over.

Drifting wouldn't even be on my list. It's not racing, its dangerous, it would be a waste of my time and my money, plus its Japanese.

My thoughts.

Man, you are absolutely clueless about motorsport's. "Drifting is dangerous".

Your right, and drag racing/roadcourse racing isn't..

Out of all 3, many could argue that driving in a straight line is much less dangerous than trying to go through a corner sideways. I believe that's his point. Any dumb person theoretically should be able to control their car while theyre pressing the accelerator...not every person, even drift m4st0rz can control their car going sideways.

My favourite of those four is the skyline, but it's far from my dream car.
Track to watch and I'm only 14 so can't answer the second one.

I'm not clueless about "motorsports", drifting is dangerous, more then most other forms of auto racing. Think about it trying to control a car sideways in a parking lot surrounded by cement K rails or sliding down a mountian road. Sounds like a bad idea. No matter how good you are trying to control a twichy car sideways is kinda hard.

Drag racing there is less of a chance you will hit something and on the track well thats dangerous to but not as bad because your car has grip.

Well I see your point drifting is dangerous, but drag racing has quirks too. I say just be careful and try not to screw up...my friends dad is a street worker(tired of scraping rubber off cement and pavement).

Contrary to popular belief with the ink-is-still-wet-on-my-license-if-I-even-have-one crowd, there are other cars in the world beside 1990s Japanese turbo straight-six vehicles...

YES, I know the NSX is not turbocharged, and the RX-7 is rotary.

Mmm. NSX... I'm actually now seriously, seriously considering an NSX instead of a Supra, when the point where I can afford one arrives. The MX-3 should last a good 10 years with very little help needed, which is a good start

I would take an NSX any day over a supra. It looks much better, and it corners like dream...at least thats what it felt like (i was a passenger).

In my opinion, there is only one car better looking than the Supra, and since it'd cost me roughly £186,000 to acquire one of the 900 or so remaining examples, it's out of my league a little.

The NSX has a few angles I dislike, the Supra has none. The NSX is more expensive, to buy, own, maintain and run. But, the NSX shold be easier to live with on often wet, leaf-covered, icy British roads. And then there's the handling...
