To be honest I think that's just how CM do it, less overthinking the idea and more how each car is developed. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some licensing stuff involved with what gets developed as well as the time-line.

Speculation of course, seems like the timing is the biggest thing.

The Castrol Yaris would be a very nice thing to see. If Ingram pops up in a WRC2 round again this season with it then who knows.
I doubt it will be included in the game updates as its a BRC/ERC entry. I was referring to livery mods on Overtake/Race Department. They already have a nice version of Ingrams MEM Castrol Polo on there.

If Ingram does enter the WRC in the future all is possible of course. Would love to see a MEM entry into WRC 2. They have toiled for years in the BRC with Meiron, Matt Edwards and Osian Pryce. With the increased Castrol backing let's hope.

Their best chance for a WRC 2 entry would be with Ingram as I think he brings some money himself. With the amount of time he spends in Monte Carlo he should do anyway 😂

CER would suit him down to the ground. Cold, wet countryside tarmac roads. Would love to see it.

Bad news; I think the first DLC pack is Le Maestros, not El Maestros, so I think that a French theme is more likely?

The absence of a Celica from the Group A class has been a flaw with the CM rally games for years. Until the rift with Toyota is healed though, I can't see any historic Toyota getting added to the game. I am thankful that they have at least permitted the current cars.

The Mazda 323 is definitely an oddity... but as discussed earlier in the thread, rally fans always seem to love an underdog! I personally think that most of the "major" classic (i.e. Group A and earlier) cars are covered, but there are still a lot of gaps in the WRCar era. Really hope some of those get filled with the new DLC.

Not a Celica AFAIK, but he did drive a Corolla. View attachment 1390719

In terms of obvious misses, I think you have most of them there. I'd go:
Audi Quattro A2
Evo 3 Grp A
Octavia WRC
Accent WRC
307cc WRC
Impreza WRC2003
DS3 WRC
Polo R WRC

Less obvious ones:
Lancer WRC04
Suzuki SX4 WRC
Fiesta WRC (2012, with the Mini, DS3 and Polo)
Clio Williams
Nissan Sunny GTI-R
Mazda 323
Nissan Almera F2
Citroen Xsara F2

If the first pack is a Loeb/Ogier pack, perhaps we'll get:
DS3
Polo R
C3 WRC
Fabia S2000
1st gen Saxo Kit Car
Liveries for Xsara, C4, Fiesta (2017)
Le maestro means French.. to me there's one French car missing thats essential and was also in Dirt Rally 2.0 so would be quicker to port over ?...

EA SPORTS WRC 24 Season Expansion - Deep Dive

We will be sharing a more detailed look at the 24 Season Expansion in our deep dive video.

The 5 minute video, narrated by Jon Armstrong • Codemasters, breaks down what you'll experience on October 8, and may also give you a super early look at the stages coming in the post-launch DLC packs.

We'll also accompany this video with the written version via our blog, which is set to include the prcing details of the Expansion and content.

My price guess was spot on. £24.99 for the expansion plus the DLC packs. Individually it's £17.99 for 2024 and then £8.99 for each individual DLC.
I'm fine with this. Seems more than fair to me.

In regards to the Deep dive video. It all looks good. I was pleased to see the Rally 2 Yaris getting properly recorded as the 3 cylinder sound it is is very distinctive.

The only other thing to do as a fellow brit is apologize to all Poles and Latvians of Johns attempt at pronouncing the stages

This is up in 5 days

(In before Neuville complains about sweeping roads)

Not a hugely informative deep dive video it has to be said. Learnt more from reading the blog after

Looking forward to this though, and happy enough with the pricing. Intrigued to see if the career mode has a bit more life in it post 24 update, hopefully introducing some cycling of events now there's a few more rallies to play with.

I assume the DLC packs will just be the stages and no new classic cars since they haven't been mentioned at this point. I'm not sure I could justify £25 for just the few new stages and 1 new car (plus the 4 updated ones and liveries of course) since it's not a game I play that much at the moment.

The blog post has specifically mentioned historic cars coming to the 2 DLC packs alongside the stages:

"These will feature even more new content including historic cars, liveries, classic stages and unique Moments to experience."

Also confirms the Puma Rally1 has had new audio recorded for the 2024 car with updated audio to the Yaris and i20 plus respective performance upgrades.

Sadly for clubs, it also confirms that players who don't own the new locations, will skip that round.

That's good to know, I must've skimmed over that paragraph. I'll wait and see what that includes before I take the plunge but it sounds promising.

Delighted to see new classic cars finally confirmed for the DLC packs. I suspect Magpie was probably fairly close in his guesses but I'm sure there'll be a surprise or two in there.

I get things right occasionally😅. I'd be happy if I get any of them right, there is some logic to my Le Maestros predictions though, so hopefully some will come through.

Finland, poland, latvia and Estonia look the same copy and paste. They could be a single country. I don’t get why they can’t get the finland gravel to be similar to the real one. Not even the color is correct. Last game with a good finland was wrc rally evolved.

I personally think £25 is pretty fair for everything. I had feared it would be that for just the 2024 pack, so that much for the lot I am definitely OK with.

Yeah same, knowing now as well that we can definitely expect cars in thr DLC packs, I think it's very fair as well.

Confirmed via a CM dev/employee on Discord:

"The Career mode now features changing weather conditions, so weather conditions won't always be the same at any given event."
I'm assuming that refers to the events on a season by season basis, if only because changeable weather already occurs (full length MC for example). Or possibly in-stage weather, i.e going from heavy rain at the start to clear (but wet) at the end?

If it's the case where the weather + stage selection are randomised (to a certain extent) for each individual running of an event it would be enough for me to justify grabbing the expansion. As it is I've found Career mode gets incredibly stale when you already know what each event is going to be comprised of if you've run it previously (medium length Sardinia S3+4 being the same stage run back-to-back springs to mind), so much so that I gave up on it entirely.

Correct, every season in career in a given class has the same weather currently, which gets a bit boring. This sounds like the weather will now actually be different season to season. Better yet, you won't need the expansion, as I would bet my life on that being a quality of life fix/patch for the game and not exclusive to the expansion.

Good news about the career update. At least some variety. Would also be good to have randomized stages, they are always the same.

Also would be good to give a refresh to the events list itself with new invitations.

Excited for Latvia and Poland. Personally, Finland and Estonia are some of my favourite rallies. The fast flowing nature of them are a lot of fun.
Yeah Latvia in particular I'm keen to try. Poland was one of my favorite locations in the earlier KT WRC games and less of a favorite in DR2.

Speaking of which:

Much as Latvia, Poland, Finland and Estonia have a similar aesthetic I feel like Latvia is the one that has a slightly different style, a bit more technical maybe, mixture of asphalt and gravel, fun in the wet. Looking forward to giving both a try.

I'm interested in seeing this "narrow forest section" that's been mentioned a few times.
