F1 2013 looks much better, imo.
Maybe that video is from some pre-alpha footage or something...
Also, no classic content in '14...but they said they'll return for '15!

Looks awful too, why is there always so much saturation in the colors of the cars when CM puts out one of these things.
That's not even the biggest problem, there seems to be a huge downgrade in lighting. The bloom is gone, as is depth of field, no SSAO etc. I'm quite shocked that this looks so much less impressive than F1 2010. They've got less than 6 weeks to improve it.

I noticed that too, but the color just really bothered me, almost like some kid got the rendering of the car and painted it with MS paint. It's just ugly.

It's probably just a beta test, minimise graphics to find other issues. The overall driver position and turning response looks alot better so I can't see why the graphics wouldn't. Just a guess.

Yea that's right. With the short cuts these guys do, I can see this 2015 next gen edition rife with bugs, due to lack of testing to release regular updates. Seen it done with motogp, I suppose it will be quite realistic, no testing like the real formula one cars lol.

One thing for sure though, IMO it's going to have to be an epic game as the sound of these cars will zap the fun out pretty quick. If the AI cars move around abit coming out of corners and actually make mistakes, that would be nice to as this years cars are alot more twitchy.

I think it might not be as bad as you think it would be. My guess is They've been developing F1 2015 for a good while now and 2014 is just a re-skin of 2013 with improvements in certain areas. Mainly to appeal to last gen owners.

very possible.

Truthfully, I actually like the sounds...

It seriously looks like a PS2 game. The lighting is horrible, the car looks like it's floating, the sound is horrible, everything will probably be horrible. Hell, I bet the safety car still can't come out on lap 1 or the last laps, no formation laps, no interviews, no Manual pit controls, still the stupid auto brake in runoff areas, and still the stupid Hollywood chase style camera angles (why can't they use the tv style angles) They keep on appealing to the whining 10 year old kids (making it an arcade game) and basically throwing all the people who want optional sim features and good graphics under the bus. SMS deserves the license, not Codemasters. Another complete and utter garbage game from this company.

i agree it looks shocking. the game is far too arcady, the graphics could be alot better, PD would make this game so much better.

It's most likely a beta test guys, I already mentioned this up further. My brother worked for ea for many years and he said often developers will release footage to see the public reaction for starters, then to fix problems. If your a sim fan iam sure you would notice that alonso actually looks like he is turning into a corner, right steering angle on the steering wheel and all. I don't see the issue as i quite positive this is not the finished product. Just an opinion doesn't mean iam correct, just trying to put a positive spin on it.

Making sims isn't even Codies' strong suite. Don't know how they managed to get the F1 license - clearly there are other devs who are more adept at making a proper F1 sim. Codies makes good, fun racing games (only a select few). Sims.... no.

People don't realise, if it wasn't for codies picking up the rights, we may still have no f1 game to play. Remember after Sony didnt resign after 2006 we had no game until 2009 until codies picked it up, so we have to think about that to. Better than nothing IMO.

While you have a point, it's also worth pointing out that many are willingly going back to previous licensee iterations (F1:CE, anyone?) simply because Codemasters are doing such a poor job with an officially licensed title. Where's the official HUD, TV-style camera angles during a replay, commentary, etc, etc?

It's such a poor effort in the long run it's beginning to come off as a yearly payware mod. You can reference them starting from scratch with F1 2015, but based on the previous years I have absolutely no reason to believe anything will really change, except newer game-breaking bugs rearing their heads.

i like the Codies f1 games. Yeah, they're annual cross-platform titles, what do you honestly expect?

When EA lost the license for the F1 games Americans went dry from an F1 game when Sony took control.... until F1:CE.
