Ferrari F10 w/ no aids and hard tires at Suzuka

Acutally having done some more thinking, if GT5 time trial times are compared to qualifying times in 2010 at Suzuka then you cannot assume a direct correlation. The times set at Suzuka in 2010 qualifying were set on Sunday after a washout Saturday. This means that qualifying was pretty much done on a new track, not giving the track time to rubber in and provide true qualifying grip levels. I would think that if qualifiying had taken place on Saturday then the times set would be quicker. This is all assuming that the track in time trial on GT5 is fully rubbered in though.

I'm afraid we don't really have a comparison method for F1 cars at Suzuka as the Japanese GP was held at Fuji in 2007 so we can't use the F2007 either..

It depends on the corner, you cannot give full throttle everywhere, but you don't have to be as careful as Alonso is in that video. I just drove a 1:31.657 on Monza with comfort hard tires, lowest downforce, brake balance 5:4 and the transmission set to 350 kph. No Aids, no ABS, using a very old SIXAXIS with pretty bad sticks (I'm not such a good driver anyway).

Well Alonso did a 1:21.962 so either you are 10 seconds off the pace with worse tyres or you made a typo.

Yep, I will try it again later with different tires, maybe the comfort ones have not enough grip. Don't forget I haven't used a proper set-up either.

Try the racing softs and see how close you get. If you get within 3 seconds then it is quite realistic as you are not using a wheel.

You'll need a good setup at Monza to be quick. If you beat Alonso's time and you're not braking close to the 100m mark for the first chicane, just after the bridge for the second chicane and around 80/70m for the Ascari chicane then chances are the grip levels are unreal.

There is also the problem they run different rear wings for this race, but if you can get near his time with Racing Soft, I would say it is realistic as the track length is the same as the real life track.

I'm still trying to find the right brake settings, I've seen Alonso can brake full without locking up the tires, couldn't drive it as hard as I wanted to.

Yes, will try the softs the next time I can, although 3 seconds would still be unrealistic I think.

The reason I say that is the track could have been rubbered in real life and I think the game makes you run a higher level of fuel. I will try this when I get the chance to and see how close I can get.
