As for manu, I am pretty sure Manson changed the tyres? But that fuel consumption on Citroen is absolutely ridicilous, same as Megane. I had a very strong race on manu, making consistent low 38 laps but barely catched him in the last lap, many thanks PD for the power nerf.

Manson did change tyres. He was about 4-5 seconds behind you before the pits and left 3 in front. If you see your pitstop duration, you lost almost 12 seconds in the changing tyres and refueling process, he only lost 4 for the tyre change. He didnt need more fuel.

Nope pretty sure its the fuel. I was told by some guys in our messenger group that 0 stop with citroen and megane is even faster, like 4-5secs and then I wouldn't stand a chance to catch him.

No stopper wasn't faster. Tyre wear on the Citroën has increased with the 2% increase in weight. Also the power nerf made the car slower, so it isnt possible at that race with that current setup anymore.

If you allow me to comment on your fuel management: The viper isnt a bad car on fuel. I saw Vipers in the american lobbies that saved fuel and had a better total time. @perrolocomcquee for example pitted with 31l (this 10l difference wouldve made your pitstop 3 seconds faster). Other cars that have similar fuel economy as the Viper like the Corvette could also save (in my race FT_Ant was in front of me with 38l). If you managed your fuel a little bit better youd have won this race imo. You went pretty much flatout the whole time.

Hey everyone :)
I leave u the links of both of my races with some comm about them.

My Manufacturers Race, with the Dodge Viper. I was actually surprised about the speed in the Alfa 4C and the Renault. All tho, it’s logical that in the 2nd stint light cars becamo much faster that heavy cars. They weight has more influence in Power/Weight ratio. All tho, i was able to save some fuel, and do a good race.

Nations Race, very tough pool, and giving a try to a new car, which was not bad at all.

More fia points are awarded for finishing top3 in an A S lobby than 8th or lower in an A+ S lobby #facepalm

I feel with you. Got 1090 points for finishing 13th in the Top 2960 Points A+/S Lobby. :O
I know i´m not the fastest at Brands Hatch and i didn't want to risk much, as i usually can´t do a race on that track without a trip to the sandbox, but i´m sure my points would have been higher in a weaker lobby.
I really like racing in the top lobby and driving on the highest level with no room for mistakes. Even if i have no chance to get close to the leading guys like Lightning, Manurodry or Zoky etc. it´s always fun and challenging to fight for the lower positions..

It´s just frustrating to see the championship points i get for finishing in second half of a top grid.
At the moment i would prefer to be paired in the 2.nd lobby or a mainly DR A lobby to fight for a podium and get 18000-2000 points for a victory. Maybe i´ll create a second account for the next season to avoid the top lobbys and aim for a top 10 position in Germany.

@hellZfirE I might agree on fuel management, need to revise that by watching a race from McQueen (thanks for the vids btw), but can't agree on 0 stop....Snake did 21:38'0 with Citroen on 0 stop and Coque I believe with Megane 21:37'1(with +1 penalty), while manson finished at 21:41.7, maybe he is pace is slower,hmm...

What was your total time McQueen?

Can you link Snakes race? I guarantee you hed have been faster stopping. The time lost on the pits on Gardens is minimal (only about 7-8 seconds for Citroens case). Non stopping would make Cits pace for the last couple of laps high 40s.

About the Megane, i dont really know, i was talking mainly about Citroen's case :p

I got a low split lobby for MFG, got pole, lead the race and won for 1390pts, pretty boring. Then Brands Hatch... I'll just let lap one speak for itself.

make up 3 spots by turn 2

cars go wide left and right leading into 3 and COLLIDE into each other rejoining
giphy.gif

it turns into pinball, aggressive rejoins forcing people off and then just straight up ramming...

and if you want to hear me cackling into the microphone while this all goes down there's a hi res video lol

Well... I would definitely have a ride on this one

To be fair to the beetle, a genuine racing version does or did exist as well as a racing series for it and a road car the rsi was based from it, a very rare version with a 3.2 V6 I think.

If anything the VGT golf is way more out of place than the beetle as well as the Citroen by GT.

Can totally understand you. In Nations-BH I got 1320 pts in a DR/A room for beeing 4th (I think). But the general pace was about 1- 1,5 sec. slower as in the top lobbys I assume. My best lap- times were about high 1.25, while @ZokyCRO stayed always on low 1.24 and even high 1.23 (with the same car). OK, Zoky is in the top part of the first level lobby, but I guess the middle grid pace was still a high 1.24 to middle 1.25.

If you'd been in our lobby, you'd been fighting for the victory at least and getting ~ 1800 pts (didn't look how much first place was)

I agree the points system is a bit off, a win in at B downwards would be more points than a low finish in a top split. But really you need to be in a top split race to stand a chance of scoring big points to qualify.

It would be easily sorted IMO if they introduced a division or league system that you can promote you or demote you down. So you could either get a multiplier of your points relative to your division, or even if the points were the same ish for each division the fact you scored those points in a division 1 race over a division 2 race for example, in respect to the leaderboard it would position you accordingly as it would recognise you achieved it in a more difficult environment.

Only an idea and not necessarily a good one but I think something based around this concept could potentially work?

He was right behind another guy for 4 laps straight. That, coupled with 1: the Lexus' strong straight line speed to afford fuel saving without losing much time and 2: its inherent fuel economy, I can see this happen. I've jumped more than a few people in my own Lexus 'cause of this :p
Man I respect Z28- he's really fast and respectful as a driver but I dunno, maybe it's just me but his commentary is... aeugh?
Ok let's say 2,5% economy during 60% of the 7 laps. After this he was full gas for sure looking at the others drivers close to him.
Even with this pushed competitive pace he pit with 44 liters :confused: ???? Come on.
Second point , Z28 didn't talk this way about the driver but yes about the car , he's a gentleman that always showed a perfect fairplay all the time.

Link to both FIA races yesterday.
Gardens wish I did a bit more practice before the race initially but had a solid race with @ORMA_Snow
And for nations was a solid race, just simple and kept it smooth and away from getting penalties cause I really had no need to push all race. Also has commentary with @TNR_5zigen but I forgot to put his voice on so view his video on YouTube (FT_5zigen) to listen to us talking during the race.

The current Beetle is best known for its Rallycross exploits, and that’s what the car in GT most resembles.

Yup, the Lexus is that fuel efficient. And since Z28 and the guy in front of him is an Evo, a car that's really bad on straight lines, I can see how much the Lexus guy can save. Just how the car is I guess
Edit: Yeah with just how much the guy was short shifting I think 44% was plausible

Hmm. Don't understand you. It looks definetaly slower as the Gr. 3 Beetle in the game.

Ooooohhh now I get it, sorry I'm not that fast sometimes.

You're right. This Beetle is obviously driven by that lady, and as we know, always buy a car from a woman!

Because you can be sure that the car was carefully handelt!

Fuel management is key in gr4. For some cars its better to go full pace, for others its better to save fuel. For my manufacturer for example, the Gr3 car is absolute horrendous on tyre wear and fuel at full pace, the better option here is to save fuel and i'll automatically save tyres with the slower pace. On the Gr4 car, going flatout will waste a lot of fuel, the car is not the fastest at real pace at all, tyre wear has been increased, so saving is also the best way to go.

Track position is also very important. If you're stuck behind someone and you cant find your way pass, save fuel. And vice-versa, if you have clean track, might be better going flatout.

Race management is everything.

Missed FIA yesterday because the website said the races went until 21:00 but they actually ended at 19:00. Should've known better than to trust the site.

This is irritating. The guy is from the Philippines and is racing in the US servers like a moron. He should race in his own server like this. Thoughts?

People from the Philippines don't have a server and their nation isn't represented, what else do you suggest?

He has another account and plays with it on the Asian server as well (he has S DR rating there also). He should be playing on the asian server if he lives in Asia, not in the american, with the risk of high latency and lag for the distance he is from the servers that can possibly interfere on the experience of others.

His driving is questionable to say the least too. Just watch the video.

He definitely shouldn't be playing on both. Nik Makozi plays on the Asian server even though where he lives he should technically be on EMEA, but when your country isn't categorised by Sony I guess there isn't an official right or wrong.

I understand those fuel management considerations , but why so much difference between cars ? Are they based on real car engine specs ?? Or totally estimated with VGT cars ?? This is a really big gap between some cars talking about fuel consumption eficiency.

Oh I see you joined my race, but in parallel world :D

I was more in dust than on tarmac thanks to all the ramming.
I don't think people are aware of tyre changes and how severe they are for some cars..

Well, i don't know. Probably something on the games engine. Usually, cars with 7 gears are better on fuel (Citroen, NSX, Lexus, BMW) so you have more room to rev less. Most of the F/MR cars are fine on fuel, you can save a lot if you do it properly.

On 4wd cars youre on throttle more often because of how early you can accelerate so it's natural to consume more.

FWD are the one thats really lacking. They have terrible tyre wear and fuel consumption.

PD is kinda trying to fix that tru BOP changes i believe. The Citroen got 2 nerfs (wasnt nowhere near OP in hotlapping pace), NSX got a nerf too (not op also), as did the Megane. FWD cars are getting buffs, but still far away from being competitve in most tracks.
