After 3 disconnects and 0 races of my limited time available for GT Sport I have lost 2000 points.

It took me a month to gain those points

Surely I shouldn’t lose Sr and DR if I didn’t even turn a wheel?

Disconnects don’t cost any DR and SR points.

They do cost DR, not sure about SR. It depends on when they happen. When I d/c right at the match screen, I don’t lose any. A few times I’ve lost connection mid race and once right after the little music before the start and I’ve lost 2k DR each time

Yes this is what I saw, I lost 10 SR too.

I typically lose 4 SR points and around 1500 DR when I get disconnected, but that only happens if you actually join the session before the DC. I think the SR loss is standard, but the DR loss must be relative to the strength of the room, so you lose DR as if you started the race and quit. Recently, people have been getting disconnected more often while still attempting to join the session, at which point you get booted back to the sport mode races screen and you do not lose any SR or DR.

Terrible races for me yesterday. I'm really only making this post to apologize to the people whose races I ruined.

Nations, I never should have done. I'm trash with the X-Bow and most N-class cars, but to put it simply, I just wanted to race and the dailies weren't doing it for me.

Qualified low in a top lobby, 15th I think. First lap on the way through the uphill esses, it was crowded, KingBestJr was to my right, OldSmooth was to my left. KingBest turns in towards me and I thought he was going to hit me (he probably wasn't) so I steered left a tiny bit to give him room but I clipped the right rear of OldSmooth....who I thought had passed me and was clear at that point, but I was wrong. Every minor contact is exaggerated in these cars, so if it had been Gr.4/Gr.3, nothing would have happened, but I bounced off OldSmooth then bounced off KingBest then back to OldSmooth again and we all went up in a ball of flames. 10s penalty for knocking both those guys off track...deserved. Sorry fellas, I can't apologize enough, it was a lapse in judgment on my part and I wish I could take it back. I made up some positions here and there before the end, but ended up crashing again on my own, so I think I finished 15th where I started....can't remember for sure, I wanna forget that one.

MFG wasn't nearly as bad, but I didn't perform well. Just didn't qualify well and couldn't find the pace, also had a weak tire strategy I think. Didn't ruin anyone's race though, so on a day like yesterday that's all I can ask for I guess. Qualified 12th, right behind @Dezcom. It seems like we almost always have a similar pace so it's great to race with him and test my skill. I passed him early because we were on different tire strategies, and I eventually made it up to 9th but one mistake going wide at T3 and 3 people pass me all at once.....back to 12th, then it was a battle for 11th with Dez and the only way I beat him while he was on mediums was due to a last lap mistake he made that resulted in a penalty, so 11th place it was. Not a good race overall, but had a good time battling with Dez both in the race and in practice lobbies before hand.

See you guys again on Wednesday and Saturday. I'm much much better at Gr.2 and above, so the next 2 rounds of Nations should be better for me. Looking at the upcoming combos for MFG, I'm not too impressed, so I might be done with those, not sure yet.

Cheers bud, it was great battling it out with you. And not a fan of that guy in the Viper shoving everyone out the way.

So my short FIA career has basically been a mess so far. I joined the ranks of GT Sport in August and only started on FIA races in the last exhibition season and then a few in this season. I'm not sure what it is as I hold my own in daily races but for some reason FIA races are always a disaster for me. I'd been focusing on the manufacturers season but after a second from last at Monza and a stone cold last at The Red Bull Ring I decided to give Catalunya a miss.

I had a quick look at the Nations and thanks to last weeks daily race B I'm pretty comfortable with Yamagiwa. I did maybe 4 practice laps in the X-Bow and thought I could put together decent laps in this.

What followed was the most entertaining FIA race I've had! I qualified P13 but was fairly happy with that as the times were close and I messed up my final lap that would have been quicker.

The race started and I really felt comfortable and was enjoying the way the car handled. Everyone was keeping it clean although penalties were being given for (probably accidental) corner cutting. There were also a fair amount of people spinning off and after a couple of laps found myself up to 5th! In the later laps though the tyre wear was becoming a real struggle to handle. I was getting reeled in by other cars so I decided to not aggressively defend and just let them overtake when they caught me so as to not lose too much time.

On the last lap I'd dropped to P10 and on the up hill esses I slid off earning myself my only penalty of the race of 0.4s. Fortunately I was able to maintain a big enough gap that it didn't lose me any further positions.

It was a really fun race though with everyone sliding around, keeping it clean and some great wheel to wheel racing. It made me wonder why PD don't throw cars like this into Daily Race A from time to time. Why are we always left with Minis, Fiat 500's and the like!?

Great race though and the most fun I've had finishing P10 :D

I managed to win my Manufacturer race @Catalunya, yet it bothers me that I only started from P2 and I didn't have the fastest lap of the race, both because of the guy that decided to just ignore the last chicane and drive the old layout of the track. I didn't expect this to happen in an A/S lobby.
You can see it at the end of my stream when I showed parts of the replay from the qualifying and the race. The Video starts where I'm showing it:

Nice Win!
Regarding missing the chicane without a penalty, this exact same thing will happen on Wednesday in Nations GR.2 unless PD sort it out in time. This invalidates the results of this race and the championship as a whole. Nobody wants that.

EU top 10 track cutters for Nations GR.2 at Barcelona tomorrow - see attached pic.

How hard can it be to make a track that cannot be cut without penalty?

Obviously it is not great that these drivers did the track cut to get their time, but really it is not their fault that the developers / QA testers allowed this to happen.

And also some other exploits have still never been fixed.

I think the old Monza exploits got fixed. I think times even got deleted. Yet the Willow Springs exploits, Fuji, and Catalunya still exist.

These are easy fixes relative to other updates and patches, yet they just rarely do anything and it ruins the fun.

has anyone here tried experimenting with pit strategies for Tomorrow's Nations race? (Gr.2 @ Catalunya) I got beat by a no-stopper the other night in a practice lobby, but I had no warmup and was talking to my girlfriend for half the race until I realized he wasn't pitting....I almost caught him in the end but he won by 2-3 seconds, which I could have made up if I hadn't been preoccupied and raced harder. I also don't really know how good that guy is, which is the big question, but he's probably pretty decent. Pit lane here is pretty long, around 20 seconds I think, but it's a 12-lap race. You have to conserve pretty hard to make it to the end, but you definitely don't NEED tires, at least not in the GTR. I think PD has done a pretty good job at making pit strategies pretty close to each other in comparison lately. It might also be worth pitting for fuel but no tires...I just don't have the time to figure this out before tomorrow night. Thanks!

Edit: nevermind, I found my answer!

After a few Race C's this week my SR is down to B and I'm in with a bunch of C/D/E DR drivers in the Nations race as a result. I don't know how people can be this bad at the game. I realise not everyone is the same level and this sort of grid will happen when there isn't a playerbase in the hundreds of thousands, but come on.

Qualified on pole by 1.4 seconds in Manufacturers. Finished 2nd by .140 seconds. Went for a 2-stop, 5/5/3 M/M/S. Bit gutted tbh.

Manufacturers was a bit of a disaster tbh. Really struggled to get that heavy pug to turn, so qualified in 11th and decided to 1 stop on mediums. Figured there would be little chance of overtaking so just decided to keep it out of the wall. Kinda went to plan for the first 5 laps, managed to hold up the guys behind me, but it all fell apart on lap 7. My tyres were knackered by that point, and a couple of people had pitted. guy behind me had fresh tyres, tapped me in the back and then tapped the wall - so obviously I got a 4 second penalty (check the video to see the brutality). Dropped me back to 14th by the time I had come out of the pits. Caught my fellow racer in the Pug, and managed to pass him (and put 6 secs into him in the last 4 laps), but that was as much as I could do.

Nations went ok. Qualifying was going ok, apart from the guy who cheated, but ballsed the entry onto the straight on my last lap so best I could do was 6th. Fuel saved like a maniac in the race, but took a tap from behind, which dropped me back 3 places. Fuel saving and a fast in and out lap bumped me back up to 6th, and then I drove away from the pack behind. Wasn't too exciting as all I could do was match the guys ahead (apart from the winner who was in a different class), so ended up in a comfortable 6th. I did think about doing a no stop, but after the tap I thought my tyres wouldn't be good enough.

What a joke today was.

Nations, I blame mostly myself because I didn't know what the right strategy was. Started on pole but knew I was going to struggle early. Therefore, it was a no stop strategy which I saw @Tidgney do earlier in the day. Well, I realized late in the stint I wasn't making it and had to dive into the pits late. Even worse, I thought I could skip the tire change to save time. Let's just say I'm not doing that again at Barcelona. Gave away 2nd and finished 4th.

Manufacturer's was even worse. Two Alfas, two Porsches and a few SLS's. I qualified the best I could but the Lexus understeered so bad. People say I'm one the best in saving tires but I was down to 25% on the right front after 6 laps. Hit the same guardrail twice and the first time I hit it was a costly penalty. Finishing 4th would've been the best I could've done but I ended up 7th. That combo is Willow Springs street course edition on steroids. The unbalanced BOP was on full display today and I was not happy about it. 👎

Next Nations race is the Red Bull Standard at Red Bull Ring. I’m usually pretty fast with this combo so here’s my step-by-step tutorial for a good lap time:

1. The brakes are not your friend
2. The downforce is your friend
3. Treat those medium tires like they’re supersofts
4. Send it

Hope this helps :D

Only did Manufacturers last night. Had a poor qualifying, messed up a good lap at the end which would've put me at least P6 but it was P12 in the end. Got a 4s penalty at the end of lap 1 when someone who tapped me from behind then hit the wall after hitting someone else also. That put me down in P17 and after that it was just trying to make up as many positions as possible till the end.

Erm, group 4 Peugeot over here. Pretty sure it has 2 flame throwers in the front wheel arches to help melt the tyres.

Your cars just look bad because of the op Cayman, Alfa and GT86, and they are just good due to the huge tyre modifiers we have in this championship. I am sure Polyphony will tweak everything at the end of the championship

My M4 terrorizes the Mediums like crazy on Tokyo Central Loop, or any other handling-focused track ever...

On season 4, Americas region is divided into North America and Mid-South America and Asia-Oseania region is divided into Asia and Oseania. 3 regions to 5 regions. EMEA region is not divided.
