Well as if I had known it I had a terrible race at Suzuka, qualified P8, went up to 5 or 6 after being held up for 4 laps by some Mustang guy and having the rest of the fiel on my neck and when I finally go past, @F4H Rosso causes a yellow flag in T1, I crash off too due to the distraction and trying to avoid being divebombed again and find myself in P18 with a loss of 14 seconds in one corner :ouch: I managed to get back to P13 but the 500DR I gained in the Nations Cup were gone again including an additional 500 I threw into the bin :banghead:
@Michi_Jay and @Spark_43 ran away from all the carnage, lucky guys

Yeah, I’m not complaining about that and take the win

I think this video pretty much sums it up on how it went for me today.

Should've skipped Suzuka. Was not in a good mood after that disaster and it only got worse when I realized the Hyundai was awful compared to everyone else.

Just had my worst FIA race ever...

Not because of penalties, lag spikes, or dirty drivers, but because I didn't beat anybody on merit.

Everybody in my lobby, myself included, was A+, and Suzuka is one of the worst tracks for me, so I wasn't expecting to do very well, but I also wasn't expecting to qualify dead last. I did have a nice and clean battle with the guy ahead of me and managed to overtake him and pull away, but they made an undercut on me in the pit stops, and a mistake that I made into Turn 1 on my pit lap meant that he gained 4 seconds on me. I could never catch up to him.

I finished 16th because 2 drivers disconnected, and 2 others made apperently massive errors in the latter half of the race, meaning I didn't beat anybody with my pace. A really disappointing race, and I only have myself to blame.

Has anybody had a race like this before, where you tried your best only to be left in everybody else's dust? This was the first time for me, and it's been a huge blow to my motivation. I really thought I was better that this... :(

I wouldn't feel that bad. First off, pretty much every driver in that room were in the top level in this region; a de facto Top 24 Superstars type of lineup. Second, I remember you because you came in with an Audi TT. That's coming into a gun fight with a white towel. Third, the attrition level I thought was lower than usual so there weren't that many opportunites to move up the field.

Certain time slots are going to be much harder than others. Being in the hardest room may be good for experience but if you're not in the top level and/or you don't have the best car, then watch your DR tank and get far less than points than if you had joined another room.

Add me to the list of people who had a bad day. I usually love Suzuka, but couldn't do anything right today:
  • Caught in traffic during qualifying, so started a few spots lower than I could have. My "best" qualifying lap I was holding up a faster driver, so felt bad about that, but if I didn't stay on that lap I would've started last.
  • First lap was going fine until Casino Triangle. I slowed way down since a whole train going through at the same time, thought I left too big of a gap, so added some throttle and spun myself out. :banghead:
  • Attempted a pass on @vvise going into turn one and got on the brakes too late, had a little contact, got a penalty, and I'm pretty sure gave a penalty to vvise as well. My apologies, completely my fault. :banghead:
  • Can't even remember most of the race from there, but I'm pretty sure I went off track at least two more times. Lost over a thousand DR points and the majority of my self respect. :banghead:
On a side note. The winner of the race was someone on an alternate account. Not quite sure how I feel about that. I'm assuming they raced on their main account also. I know this is just preseason, but seems a bit unsporting to enter an FIA race on a smurf account and take Championship and DR points away from everyone else. I hope the real FIA Championship doesn't turn into a handful of Aliens entering on multiple accounts.

I had a penalty-free race so no worries. The situation was actually quite awesome from my side after just having a VERY eventful lap. Part of the most awesome 2 laps of my race.

This is the lap leading up to your attempted pass. I got stopped up by Bullet, then Rabbit and @KONTRAone caught me on the straight, then you on the following straight. Getting passed up the inside of 130R felt so bad, i had to brake and drop a gear just to stay on circuit. I think Rabbit also pushed flatthruchicane off the exit of spoon the lap after but it's hard to see. He tried some really bad passes on me multiple times. Sure he was faster but really pushy, he no-clipped through me the second time he passed me.

Really good racing, well worth a watch.

Started last in 19th and came home 13th in a surprising tough lobby. The most fun I've had in a race in a long time.

I think I'm going to scare a lot of people.

In that room, my qualifying time would've placed me 3rd. Guess where I started in the alien room?

My internet died just after qualifying for that Suzuka race. Really disappointed as I felt like I had the pace to win. :(
I was looking forward to having another good race with you. Other than lap 1 turn 1 no one really got close to me for the entire race, witch was wierd for how not fast I was driving. Had the 9th fastest fast lap during the race.

Well after a horrible set of race results last Saturday the races last night went very well for me all at D rank DR.

In the Nations Cup race qualifying was "meh" but during the race I managed to pick up a few places and finished 6th which is
my best result in the pre-season races so far so that was okay as had a fairly peaceful race with minimal drama's and penalties.

The Manufactuers race at Suzuka was a bit more hectic and again qualifying was "meh" but a change of strategy for my pit
stop going on the 6th lap meant I was able to jump a few places and finished 7th overall, again highest result in the pre-season.

Nations cup I am world ranking 5123th and domestic ranking I am 678th but I have only managed 3 of the 8 races so far.

Manufacturers I am world ranking 4075th and 311th in the manufactuer ranks (Toyota) but missed 1 race.

Overall I guess that's pretty reasonable results considering it's my first full season as I couldn't spare the time for the
test seasons races much.

Long time lurker here, but after seeing the race clip I thought I'd join the discussion.
Really poor race on my end at Suzuka today as I clipped the pylon at Degner on lap 1 which quickly relegated me to last place. Target fixation I think. I was bummed because I really enjoy this track and expected a good result. Anyway I soldiered on and picked up places where I could. Typically I never attempt a pass at 130R, but the Bimmer easily had the legs on the Evo. I did brake accordingly and held the inside line, and you did a good job holding your line as well, but obviously this slowed us both down as KONTRAone had the momentum to overtake us both. I used the draft combined with a late braking effort to cleanly overtake KONTRAone into Turn 1, but unfortunately I touched the grass at Dunlop causing me to get loose, thus leaving him nowhere to go but into my bumper. Penalty for the both of us. Sorry bud! There was no contact between Flatthruchicane and I the following lap. He simply got on the gas too soon and caught a wheel on the grass. Bullet, BillFlorence, and I were nearly three wide into turn 1 the next lap, but it was good clean racing without any contact as Bill made out the best of us. You and Bullet jumped me in the pits, but interestingly you were ghosted on my screen as I caught you at the hairpin. I was not really sure why, but figured the quickest way passed was to just drive through you. Those were the only two passes between you and I, so I would not say there were multiple bad pass attempts made, but can see how the ghosting thing was pretty weird. Overall the racing seemed pretty clean despite all the flashing red penalty markers. Sorry again to KONTRAone. Good racing vvise. I'm sure I'll see ya out there again.

If it makes ya feel any better, I tanked 2500 points after today's racing!

Supra won the race I was in, but the corvette was 2nd, bmw z4 was 3rd

Hey, that sounds familiar! I was 2nd in the Vette. :dopey: @Espial was also in that race.

and mercedes was 4th, porsche 5th and I was 6th in the mclaren - so I don't think the car was too important. Just pick the car you like. Quite a nice spread of cars for a nations cup race.

Indeed, I liked that.

Note to self: don't make huge mistake in qualifying and end up not posting a time.

Saying that started 18th and ended 6th, so at least I had fun for a change :)

Sounds like it, well done. 👍

Me, I was first a bit shocked when I saw I was the highest rated driver in the room, then surprised and relieved when I qualified 2nd (despite not coming within .5s of the best time I did in custom races for qualifying practice). Never got a chance to catch the leader; the Z4 caught me just before pitting, after which I had a comfortable gap thanks to the Vette's fuel economy. Overall kind of a boring race for me, but in a good way. :D

Horrible race for me.

Had 2 laps where I was on pace for a low 2:10 ruined by others. Qualified with a poor 2:12, race was also bad as I ended up in some slow traffic, and hit a damn pylon in the last chicane. Ended up 13th or 14th.

Despite the mediocre car I think I could've finished top 5

Great race for me yesterday, driver in Z4 GT3 was very good and very smooth in the corners. Good thing is I didnt made any big mistake which is rare.

Good to hear things from your side, it's always easy for me to blame other drivers. Good racing.

The ghosting thing is super strange though, I didn't have any penalties so it's bizarre that you would see me ghosted. Possibly some sort of Blue Flag glitch since you had already passed me and I jumped you in the pits? Maybe the game thought you were lapping me?

The alien lobby can be really bad for points if you're fighting for about 1500 points... In most lobbies my qualy time would put me really close to a 1600 points position, except for the alien lobby (which would put me in 16th?).

Here's my race, with Nico being the fastest guy in America with a cayman (yeah, wow!!).
Ps.: Also, that porsche really lacks straight line speed, I had to completely let off the gas at the 130r to let him through.

Hey Sharkart, I am Thisisridicolous. I had a great time racing with you. Thanks for keeping it very clean. Watching Nico disappear through the S curves was very impressive!

That’s a bit optimistic, we’re usually about even and the Mazda and Mitsubishi are about even and the best I could’ve done in that race was 7th, Top 5 was beyond our vehicles capabilities (except in the hands of aliens like the Mazda that won)

No video of us battling at Kyoto? I usually would’ve let you by and not fought as hard but the guy behind you is not my favourite guy to have behind me, so I was fighting mostly to keep you between us, and only let you by when he was a safe distance back.

That race was the second race this preseason I’ve miscalculated the fuel amount and put in 1 lap too few, cost me a 5th place finish and a few hundred points and DR (since the two guys who passed me were both A+), ended up 7th due to having to run the second half of the race on mode 2-4.

I can't remember the points for the Suzuka alien room but I finished 12th and what I got was far less than I would've gotten in any other room. Basically, there's too much risk being in the hardest room if you don't have Top 10 Stars type of speed. It's even risky for the aliens since one mistake and they're in the back with no chance to recover.

Maybe, I'm not saying I would've for sure, but I was on pace for a 2:10.1 qualifying lap which would've started me 3rd I think, I doubt I pass anyone in the Mitsubishi though.

Hang on, so Nicolas (ORMA_Snow) has two accounts now!? :confused:I hope this new account is not just for a second chance at the top spot of the championship.

He switched sponsors, no longer with Orma. Although I'm not sure why he was racing with his Orma account last night.

Plenty out there at the moment that have an original account, now joined a team so created an account for that and race with both.

Doesn’t seem right to me but I guess we could all do it.

Stupid question but with these teams, what does it actually mean, do you get invited, do they have separate races or is it purely I’m part of this team thing?
