Tonight was one of the tensest Manufacturer races I've ever had...

Got grouped in the same 19:00 lobby as @watto79 and @Lost Sheltie, again as the only Ford representative on the grid. Qualifying went as smoothly as it could've done against the perils of the tight and twisting Sardegna A; best lap was a 1:41.448, good enough for me to start fifth. Polesitter was a Corvette, some four and a half tenths up; the entire top 10 separated by just over a second.

In practice lobbies, I experimented with a slightly gentler driving style, braking earlier and more gradually for tighter corners where possible. I was aware that the Mustang would not be the kindest car on Medium compounds, so it was essential for me to preserve my tyres while keeping up with other drivers in front. This approach worked very well for me in practice, and I had high hopes of getting a decent finish if I could look after my tyres well enough.

Immediately, the fourth-placed Lambo in front rights up the rears and spears off into retirement just after the first corner. This allows me to pressure the AMG Mercedes and McLaren F1 up ahead, until the AMG clips the inside barrier and loses momentum going through the uphill S-curve. Even before the first lap is done, I'm up to third, and pressuring the McLaren through my gradual braking techniques. Now, as this was happening, I also had to keep an eye on an Aston and another AMG closing in on me, and had to be careful not to get pressured or mugged by them. The pressure built up when I ran wide onto the grass at the uphill esses on Lap 2, and again on Lap 3. Thankfully, I kept the Mustang out of the outside barrier both times, so not much lost there.

Soon, I am back on the tail of the McLaren, and keep applying the same pressure as before. I later learnt that he was the only driver in the lobby running on Hard tyres, but to give credit where its due, he did a fine job soaking up the pressure and hanging on for second place. That was until near the end of Lap 5, where he missed the apex through the uphill esses and lost speed. I move to the inside and manage to outbrake him going into the final left-hander; I snatch second and hang on to it going into Turn 1, despite the McLaren's valiant attempt to dive down the inside of me. From that point, I was too far back to make enough gains on the leading Corvette, but reeled him in anyway, finishing just 1.515 seconds down. Cue my best FIA result of the year and my best Manufacturers result of the season:

The rewards? A 'Clean Race' bonus, a new season-best score of 1,876 points (would be even better if it was 1,877 as it says on the results screen!), a total score of 7,935 points and a DR boost of 1,316 points - enough to put me just 485 points shy of becoming an A+ driver!

I forgot just how fast the F1 GTR is in a straight line and boy was Sardegna the track to remember!!

That had to be the dirtiest Manu race to date. Would never believe it was an SR S lobby. Don’t think most of it was intentional, just too many cars close together with too many hard braking corners. Loads of punts and loads of penalties!

Because my SR took a dip to 80, I ended up in a split lobby with D-/E-tards. Qualifying was determined by who got a lap free of encountering Monster-swilling morons. Of course, any time I so much as blew dirty air on them (I presume the game took pity on them), I got the blame and a dent in my SR, and now I'm down to 65. Yay, looks like Saturday's a write-off too!

Took a X-Bow from 9th to 3rd in Nations. Had a great battle with one of those angry frogs for the first half of the race who I would creep in front of on the pit straight, only for him to go round the outside of me in turn 1. Great racing before he fell away towards the end. 947 points.

Put the Nissan on pole in Manufacturers. I put in three flying laps and each was faster than the next, although I still had at least .300 on my optimum (plus I'm pretty sure I could go faster than a 41.8 or .5, but whatever). Qualified ahead of a 911 and started on hard tyres despite a last minute waver just before the time ran out to change to mediums. Led into the first corner, survived the first handling section on cold tyres, bottled one chance to break the tow to the Porsche before bringing it home with no fuss at all:

I had a laugh when I first looked at the map as we started lap 3. 3rd was just getting to the kink while we were halfway down the straight. I also had a laugh when I realised I was car #19 and the Porsche was #20.

I'm beginning to think I should give up on daily races tbh, I always seem to have absolute stinkers which make me depressed about the game before an FIA night like this pops up. I could probably have got more for the Manu win if my ratings were higher, but oh well.

I also have no idea where I lost the clean race bonus. I got two wheels beyond the kerb after the chicane at the top of the track one time, but that was it.

Also this was the first time I raced with bumper cam, the background music off and earphones in, so I'll definitely be doing that again.

It is my regret to announce the Pug Train has crashed for good.

Flat out, we needed two great race combos in Stage 2 to have a chance and we've had none. The VGT is atrocious off any slow corners which most recent tracks has had in spades and unlike Stage 1, we didn't have fuel savings as our equalizer. Gr4 RCZ is... a Gr5 car and other than a miraculous victory at a fuel saving combo, it won't score anything for us. We ran the numbers and we're so far behind that asking the team to continue would've been pointless.

Still, the train at least got to Salzburg, which is a major accomplishment. Proud of the entire field of Plebs who put in the effort to make it that far. I only wish all of us could be in Salzburg to celebrate. We'll do our best to shock everyone again and get in there!

I'll still be racing because I want to stay up there to be in the Superstars race.

I had a lot of fun in the races tonight, even if I didn't do very well.

Nations was decided by the qualifying where I picked the wrong guy to follow on my last lap and ended up catching him much quicker than anticipated. As such started 15th, but had a good solid race and picked my way up to 8th avoiding a few incidents and picking off a couple of people with decent moves. Was right at the back of a train of about 6 guys so could have been much better.

Manufacturers ran into the problem of the Mitsubishi lacking speed on the straights. Tried the race twice, 1st time with @watto79 and @VulcanSpirit where I qualified in 15th and picked up a 4 second penalty on the 1st lap when I squeezed a guy who had just given me a nudge. Then spent the rest of the race trying to catch the back of the pack and had an enjoyable fight with a Danish driver.

2nd attempt didn't go much better with my qualifying putting me in 19th (1.4 secs off pole and 0.4 off my time trial lap so don't think I had much pace left). Had to avoid a dive at the 1st corner, which made me chuckle a bit. Then coming into the big stop at the end of the back straight, the guy in front moved a bit in the braking zone so I had to take avoiding action and binned it into the wall. By the time I got pointed the correct way I was 20 secs off the front, and proceeded to have a quiet race from there on picking off a couple of accident victims. Was quite happy to see I only lost another 6 secs, so I think my race pace was ok.

Got to say I really like these Sardegna tracks, even if I am not great on them :)

Fun times in Nations Cup. Qualifying wasn't exactly spectacular, but the race itself was a blast. First race I ever have on one of the Sardegna Road tracks where I wasn't having to calm myself from a boiling rage from some self-inflected errors.

Oh well, it was fun even though it was frustrating during most of stage 2.

Last night started with manu slot 1. I actually qualified and raced well but got nudged off early and battled with a BMW the rest of the race. Normally I would bank the 1860 points but had to go for it for the pug train. Manu 2nd slot qualified ok but got punted, no big deal there's always slot 3. Slot 3 I botched qualy by following someone too closely, they ran wide then we battled because they didn't abort their Q lap. Gained a few places in the race and did my best, if I qualified better I would have been battling Holland or even Cody as the Merc seemed to struggle a bit, as I watch snippets of other people's highlights of this race I can only look on with jealousy on how late they can brake and the acceleration they get out of the slow corners. Safe to say I won't be plebbing in the PUG VGT next year. I should hang in there for manu top 16 now I have managed to get just over 10k points.

Nations slot 2 was effectively practice for me as I focused on manu during the week. Slot 3 also botched qualy by mistiming my fuel burn and crossed the line 1 second too late and my banker lap had me starting around 10th. At least Bob running the 911 in front gave me a good tow and we carved through the field with a few rubbing/nudgey passes. Then I eventually overtook Bob as his tyres finally gave way. Was a good chance to improve on my nations score but not to be. Pretty much locked in to top 16 but will keep trying in the other rounds before that.

Disaster for me in Manu. This round held great great hopes for Camp Lambo, but I let the team down.

First race was a third place on a weak lobby. I decided to have another go, as that result added nothing to my season's tally.

Second race was where it all went south. Punted 3-4 times by the SAME GUY. One of them caused me to hit 2 other people and send them off. Got 10s worth of penalties, finished second to last and saw my beloved and usually very stable SR drop to 76.

This game is so messed up sometimes, it messes with your head. I need a break, but Dragon Tail Gardens is the best Lamborghini Gr4 track on the calendar. :(

Hmmm, pretty lackluster race. I was excited for the track as I did good time in free practice. I was not able to commit to a no-stop and that was probably a mistake. I pitted for tires and a dash of fuel.
In the first lap I had the same driver behind me bumping into me as he was trying to find space where there was nothing. To my chagrin he ended up ahead of me after my pit stop.

It all seemed like it was going ok until the race started.

Between the tires and dirty air I was all over the place. Gave up and came 20th in the first race, the second race wasn't even worth finishing.

If I bumped you on track today, my B!

Today in the Manufacturers Series, I had started and finished in fourth place with 408 points.

A few hours earlier, I had also started 4th then won the race. When I entered it, the majority of the entrants used the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept and I was no exception. I had used that car to coincide with the 82nd anniversary of the foundation of Toyota. With 367 points scored, it is my biggest win this season.

Fair to say that iv had better days in FIA than yesterday's shenanigans.

Went in with very little practise but in manufacturers 2nd time slot I put in a strong lap to line up 5th. I knew from a practise race in tidgneys lobby that my car, the citreon, would struggle in race trim due to dirty air and lack of straight line speed and so it would prove to be.

However by lap 6 I was hanging onto 6th but definitely the cork in the bottle. The fast left hander in last sector was a particularly problematic corner and this allowed a white Merc to get a run into the tight left hander. I gave them them the apex but this still wasnt enough room and they still bumped me wide and lets just say I didnt try to hard to stop my car going of track.

That move cost me 5 places but I was still at back of train. Going into the same left a lap later, one of the train spun and another punted another driver off getting a 5 second pen. A recovery to 6th 7th looked on until a wild Hyundai genesis was languishing on the racing line at the last turn unghosted going 40-50 mph slower than it should have been costing me all my speed down the straight.

Alas the fun was not yet over. As I approached turn 1 the white merc that had bumped me off was recovering from the subsequent penalty they received. With reasons to be miffed with each other it was never going to be pretty and so it proved. I squeezed/forced myself down the inside and they exacted revenge by going off and giving me a 5 second penalty.

Anyway the result of all that was 12th.

3rd slot, bottled quail by not setting a time. Started 20th. Was 12th by lap 2 and battling a french PRST driver in an M6. Got my car halfway along side into fast left at turn 3 on lap 3 not in effort to pass but to put them offline for next corner but they played the ole "sorry monsieur I cant see you" turned in like I wasnt there hitting me onto the curb, unsettling the car then hitting me again to complete my demise. It's funny that they never seen me as for the previous lap and a half they certainly knew where I was as they defended every move for all they were worth.

A few laps later I punted a jag off whilst 14th, let them back past, served penalty and trundle home a dejected 16th simply to preserve my record of finishing every sport race iv entered.

A day to forget!!!

Last night was fun in the N300 badboys for Nations... ive just looked at saturdays race and it looks like Group B madness.
Should be another interesting race like the last Group B race at Sardegna

Manufacturers was always going to be tough at Sard A in the NSX...there's not much worse in a straight line than the Honda. Anyhow I put in a lot of practice hoping to get fortunate.

During Race 1, I also had my fantasy football draft start at 7pm. So I attempted to draft my team and race at the same time. Didnt go well. Bad quali, ok race, meh draft. (Wentz, Hopkins, A.Cooper, Cooks, Mixon, C.Carson, Njuku)

Race 2, good quali in P4 behind the two DNA guys and a Porsche. I made an optimistic pass attempt for 2nd on the last lap, got the move done but with a lot of contact. I gave the place back and fell to 4th.
MFG was good this week, @cyclingjudoka and I qualified 1-2 with 0.002s between us. Finished DNA 1-2 :) for 2100 and 2000 pts.
Your welcome @vvise.

Race 3. This time in top split. Quali P9 with my best lap of the night. Fought hard with a Toyota and ended up P7 at the line behind 5 TTG guys and @OutlawQuadrnt. Considering that every car in this lobby was faster than the NSX, im really happy with 7th. Too bad points won't improve.

I only started to play last month and have very few pratice time but i´m enjoying every bit of the steps i learn something every race, im at B/S rank atm.

Yesterday races runed well only did one in manufacturer, in qualy i was able to start p5 and finish 10th cause in 2nd lap i did a small mistake and got pushed of the track and pited also but i felt i could do a lot better if i hadn´t that bad luck and if made the full run without pit, i just feel i have the pace to keep up just need to improve some aspects wich mean i need more time ingame.

Nations was really cool, i qualy p3 finish the race p5, also felt that i could keep up cause in the confusion of the first lap i lost 2 positions and the 4 guys in front opened a small gap, i focused i was able to catch them after 4 laps i kept the best lap of the race until the 2 final laps where the leader beated my time, anyway after i catched the leading guys i felt i could overtake them, 3rd and 4th where fighting each other i had the chance to overtake but i decided to keep my place safe, for what i was seeing from their driving for shure both of them could put me out of the track they were just to agressive.

I was hoping to secure a spot in the top 16 again last night and even with improvement I remain in 17th. I need to replace my two lowest scores, both in the 2100s over the next two rounds.

Despite being off the mark, last night's race went will. I qualified 5th in the top split early slot lobby. Managed to secure 4th behind @GumballCGT, @TRC_Stagger, and @Deafsun.

I was in this one :D , qualified pretty good at P8 but couldn't make much progress up the grid, the new slipstream makes it very hard to pass, not many mistakes were made seeing as the car was relatively easy to drive.

Only did manufacturers first slot last night. Had an ok banker lap but then binned it before even starting my final lap so started down the order. I then ended up with a 5s penalty from a lap 1 melee so didn't gain much in the race either.

That first lap was brutal! And the revenge punt into turn 1. Wow....

One of these days I'm going to get it right. But I'm getting close. I "had" a really good race going at Sardegna A, but as usual I managed to bottle it. But not to fear, Sherer is here. Here he comes to save the day. He caught me doing the Booker T "Spinarooni". If it wasn't for him "straitening me out" all would have been lost. You have to see it to appreciate it. All in all it was a Ford Mustang sweep on the podium. :cheers:

Keith.

Awesome result by the way! You've been picking up the pace every round. Don't get too fast now ;)

It's been a long time coming, but I finally scored a 40!!! I've been so close multiple times this season but juuuusssst keep missing out. Somehow managed some magical qualifying lap and cleared the field by .5 seconds. Thankfully I knew I had the Aston's top speed to keep me up front. Had a great race with @TRC_Stagger trailing me the entire time and just crossed the line in 1st with a gap of .034 but a win is a win!
