Unless something really crazy happens, I'll go with the Audi r18. Car can do a 1 stop on softs and only needs some slight short shifting to skip refuelling.
Managed to top the csa time attack ranking. Not gonna last, but it felt good haha

No dramas for me. DId two stops RS/RM/RS Pitted earlier for the undercut. Ran to latp 11 on the RM and finsihed on the Rs catching up to the cars ahead of me. Passed one for 8th and don't know what happened to that car that finished 8th, as it was ghosted when I rounded the final corner and I got 7th.

Qualified P10/20 on hards. Messed up at the start of the Nord. Dropped to 19th. Pitted for RH tyres and full tank. Came out 18/20. Pitted again for RMs and .2 laps of fuel. Jumped a spot on pit exit(16/20). Caught up to cars ahead and finished just behind 13th. What could have been.

I've tested it alone in a room , i'n going to drive it again tonight to check in real racing situation .

interesting, I’m all for the 1 stop with minimal fuel saving

Torn between the R18 and the 908 for tonight. I think I just like being different.

I’m thinking the Audi or maybe the dodge (as above) if it’s any good

What's the Audi/908 like on fuel? I was going to run the TS050 because there's literally no short shifting or fuel saving required at all, and no refuelling and in the practice I could do a 21.2 with it.

Haven't tried the Audi/908 yet but I'd lean toward the 908 if I had to just because personal preference in how I remember them driving at Sarthe.

But I'll try later

Nurb is gonna be tough if you're not great at fuel saving.
Forget using hards, not worth it

I can change fuel settings if i happen to qualify slow, 4C Gr.3 can finally keep up with some faster cars.

Still, not convinced for this race

Fuel saving is pretty easy at Nordschleife in my opinion, since there's not much room to pass anyway...

My RCZ can make the race length perfectly with 1% fuel remaining if I do minimal fuel saving lol

Do we need to use both tyre compounds in Nations?

I don’t think so, I plan soft/soft. Check the bottom right of the screen in the lobby, it will flash if you have to use a specific tyre

Well, the Audi is ok for fuel with abit of management, but I struggled with the hybrid. And it helped not having to drive flat out as I built a gap quickly. I will try the Toyota when I can

Well i use automatic so have to do fuel settings on lean during the non speedy sections lol

The R18 is about a lap short on fuel, the 908 two laps short. It seemed easier to make that up by short shifting in the 908 though, oddly. Having tried both the R18 is much nicer to its tyres though.

Elsewhere, what on earth is the strategy in Manu supposed to be? I'm half-tempted to 2-stop on mediums in the GT-R.

Most likely a one-stop for Manu. RH + fuel saving on race start and RM + just enough refuel to get to the end at full throttle on the stop.

FR cars like the Mercedes can do 2 laps on mediums with a bit of fuel saving, then do another lap at the end also on Mediums. This is the fastest strategy.

MR cars cannot do this. Unless you are the best Michelin babysitter in history, you will burn the rears and likely spin off. So the options are to stop twice, or start on Hard tyres which are several seconds per lap slower.

Maybe I’m getting something terribly wrong here, because with a fair bit of fuel and tire (RM) saving, I’d finish a lap with 50ish% fuel and half-life (at best) tires.

I know the R8 is not a gentle car, but maybe the driver is not cooperating here. :)

So it’s not just me hehehe

I’m thinking of starting on RH, nursing it to pit on lap 2, then pushing to the finish line.

I think im gonna use the Toyota.

The R18 seems to be the defacto choice, and Im probably giving up some laptime by not choosing it, but i trust the toyota more over a course of an entire race, & not having to do any fuel saving whatsoever is a big plus for me.

Chicane of death though, is going to be a problem... I'm going to be giving up 2 tenths in qualifying just from that alone because theres no way I can get through there at the same speed as the guys on wheels, it's just understeer city with a controller, so im gonna lift a bit more to guarantee i get through there without dying in the race.

I love Gr.1 & the Toyota is definitely an old reliable for me, but not expecting much in the race because ill probably end up matched with turismo lester and all those guys again so ill be battling for crumbs.

Soo... all hail Mercedes?

50% per lap is pretty much spot on, and I'd assume you're running medium tyres? Hards would be only quarter of the way worn when you finish 1 lap.

Probably going to use the Toyota in the nation's tonight as it's the LMP1 car I feel most comfortable and fastest with. The fuel efficiency of the car is a nice benefit as well. Got a feeling that the chicane of death will claim a few victims today so can hopefully take advantage of that :lol:. Rocking a GTPlanet livery aswell.

I'm with you on this. It might be a bit slower, but I found I didn't have to worry about fuel.
Will find out shortly if its competitive

Do you have an estimate of how much slower the RH tires are over a lap? A 15s pitstop could be worth doing a RM two-stopper and leaving the RH on the shelf.

I'm not sure. I just feel more consistent with the RH! Qualifying will have to be done with RH too because no way the RM's are gonna last 2 laps

Hoping to see at least one person using something odd in the nation's like the Audi VGT or something, I doubt I will it would be funny to see.
