Crashing back to earth after a second place in round 1  Amazed i didn’t quit. Just had to laugh at what a disaster it was. 12th makes it look like I had a decent race!

Poor qualifying in 16th and then at turn 2 went spinning off with cold tires. 3 other cars did the same so it ended up as a little battle between us losers at the back for the rest of the race! Another crash later on getting damage. Finally got my act together and made up a couple of places towards the end and then got promoted 2 places with people getting tire penalty.

I was going to have a lovely old rant about driving standards, with video proof, but the game decided to only record a couple of minutes of the race despite me having loads of space!
So you'll have to make do with this as I'd probably get in trouble for saying certain things about the transgressors

(I need a wee angel smiley!)
One driver not only brake tested me but also punted me off, and let's just say there was a lot of very poor behavour. I was 'less than pleased'.

Is it really worth trying the final slot (likely full of people wanting to make their mar after a frustrating wait) or should I just wait for the first North American one where nobody has missed slots yet?

Oh, what the heck, here goes nothing (and nothing's probably what I'll get out of it!). Entered with 12 seconds to spare.

Well, with the servers back up after the fiasco from slot 1 I was back at it. High hopes - based on the pace in the first race.

Few laps of practice 10 minutes before - got the impression that things will not be good. Got out of my pace - I usually need around 30 minutes before to get into my best form.

Qualy was decent - started in P7 on Mediums. Was optimistic... but binned it at T1 on cold tires. From P7 to P14 in 20s and then to make it worse I lost it in 130R next lap when following too close a blue Aston and missing the turning point. Up to last and it became a race to limit DR loss. Had some clear laps then, people started to pit or got out off the track and finished in P12. As the lobby was really strong at least I gain 200 DR points. Was going to go again.

Last slot of the day - blew the qualy and started in P17 - on Hards. 3 cars binned in the first lap so I was up in 14th when I pitted end of lap 1. Got out last with 4s gap but being in clean air I closed it pretty quit. People on Hards started to pit and I got in P12, following a group of 4 cars. It was a battle last 7 laps, another 2 cars joined the group. We traded positions several times and also won some after car in front pitted. Last lap found me on 8th with a blue Hyundai and a silver Porsche in front. At the spoon the Hyundai pushed the Porsche wide, so got to P7. At the straight I kept close the Hyundai and turned better in 130R getting almost side by side(me on the outside) at the final chicane. I wanted to make a move, but saw in the mirror the Porsche closing fast. I turned a bit later, he rear ended the Hyundai sending it in the shadow real and he took my place in the chicane. But as he also got a 1s penalty I kept close. He finished in P6, but with the penalty I got the position.

P6 - 103 points. I was expecting better, but end of the day the points are decent and at least I recovered the DR lost in the first race of the day.

Manufacturers Round 2
Absolute waste of time.

Couldn't take part in the first slot because I was investigating a possible problem with my pedals where I've noticed some flickering on my brake and accelerator. Couldn't see any dirt in there though after opening it up...

Second and third slots not available due to the server issues.

On the fourth slot, I qualified P10 with the same time as a Ford, but then afterwards it flipped us over so I started P11!

That doomed me because he started on Hards, drove very defensively, and didn't pit until lap 4 leaving a huge bundle of cars behind him trying to pass. I do everything I can to avoid contact as he's sliding around only for the cars behind me to just ram their way through. :banghead:

Got a 3 second penalty later on because an Aston I was closely chasing started weaving around coming out of the final chicane, so there was some light contact before he went (voluntarily!!) into the pits. 🤬

There was another incident where a couple of cars were fighting right in front of me through Spoon, banging each other around. Again, I have to slow down to avoid hitting it only for the cars behind me to just shove me aside and ram their way past. So tired of this - what's the point in trying to race clean if you're just going to get punished for it?

I wasn't amused so I went again, and I wish I hadn't. I thought I would try getting the Hard stint out of the way, but where I qualified meant the game dumped me in the most awkward place going on the chicane. I immediately lost the slipstream and the car behind got alongside going down into turn 1. I didn't try to fight him, but trying to take the outside line on cold Hards? Not happening, so I went off.

I now have dirty cold Hard tyres and was really struggling through the S-bends, resulting in a Honda getting the inside line on me coming out of the long left hander. I leave him space and he responds by shoving me off onto the gravel. Race completely ruined, spinning around and around trying to get back onto the track. 🤬🤬🤬

I was so angry after that, I couldn't drive properly anymore.

P18, and only because 2 people quit. Absolutely seething.

Well, I didn’t have a good first race. Binned my qualifying by going off the track on the esses and started 17th. (Need to break a bit early to manage the Huracan’s understeer) An NSX I encountered on clearly bad tires during the race that wouldn’t move out of the way also didn’t help matters. Finished 16th. On the bright side, the 4H/7M strategy I used seemed to be the way to go.

Going to go again as long as the servers allow it.

Yippee kai yay! Won my Dragon Trail race and last night at Suzuka. Good Mustang. Had to wait until the late night race, but was worth it. Into T1, the Ferrari behind me went off into the gravel. I finished with a 20 second lead.

The Dragon Trail race had a T1 crashfest and I finished with a 33 second lead.

I'm getting nervous with the first turn crashes. Hope I'm not due for one at the next event.

Had a fairly crap 17:00 race, q'd 3rd, missed the braking point at Casio on lap 2 and got 2nd place upset at me, tried to give the place back but they rammed me off the track instead :indiff: so I fell back to 6th, followed the group around until pit stop time where I should've stayed out one more lap because the driver I pitted behind was in a low power good handling car, and after I slipstreamed past them on the main straight they had no idea how to drive behind me and rammed me three times between T2 and the Degners and I lost my cool and binned it. Down to 7th, then someone in a Viper spun out in T2 on the second to last lap so I finished 6th... torn between taking the 135 points and seal clubbing in Race C for my 91st win or doing another race at Suzuka one of my favorite tracks...

Happy with my choice of BMW though, the M4 drives exactly how you'd want an FR to handle.

Qualified on my own and started P2, right behind a Merc. He had good pace so I just played it cool and sat in his tow for the first few laps to wait for his tires to start wearing out. I got lucky too that a Lancer and a WRX started right behind me, so they held everyone up once their tires started to wear out and it was just me and the Merc out front and after a few laps. Then his tires started to go and it was pretty much all over from there. This was my biggest single point score to date, and a great race to boot! :)

You might as well go again, since apparently only your single best round will actually be scored, unless this is your best round so far, in which case, it's up to you. I started 8th and finished 7th for 159 points in my Corvette, and while I'd like to go again, I feel like that's the best I could do in that car at that track.

First slot and total disappointment and embarrassment.
Got #8 on the door. First lap on qualifying I caught some grass and ruined it. Second lap for a go and at the end of the straight, someone comes out of the pit and drive right on to me, sending me to the sands. Qualified 20th. Two mistakes and a Mustang bomb drove me onto the wall. Finished 19th. - Season is just not going well here! Need a mental reset at this point.

Well clean bonus.
Started back in the 86. Lap 1 guy tried to put me off twice, luckily at Spoon there was a guy right in front of me that got punted by my car getting attacked.
Worked my way back to 8th and was all over 2 cars ahead but they weren’t running fast. BMW punts me at Degner lap ten. Drop to I forget and finish right behind the other 86.
It’s a given I see on average 3-5 punt attempts per race just minding my own business.
I’m not going to be bothered anymore to practice or try to run up front where I should because it’s way worse there.
The games at least semi enjoyable starting from last.
Trying to run well is not worth it to me, unless I’m top 30-40 in qual. Too frustrating getting taken out lap one 75 percent of the time.

Ah, I didn't realize they had changed the system so it wasn't just your last race that counts.

No it is your last race that counts. I was talking about overall for all 10 rounds. The way it looks right now, only your single best result of the 10 rounds in this preseason is what matters. Within the individual rounds, your most recent try is the only one that's taken into account.

Did 4H/7M tires work well in the vette? Or did you go differently? Just warming up for tonight now

Manufacturers Suzuka
Well finally I got it together. The McLaren 650S felt so smooth at Suzuka !
As I list 3K DR last session, I was in a slightly lower lobby level but I was very happy to be able to climb the podium.
The rhythm of Suzuka is something that I really love. I have struggled at this track before, but here I came out in the top so check out this race edit of the relevant parts of the race:

You made that look so easy. Well done!

I did 7M/4H. For me it seemed to be the optimum strategy, but I did have a massive slide between Degner 1 and 2 so that might've taken 1 lap off of the Mediums. The only reason I even managed 7th though was due to some overaggressive driving behind me that took out the 2 Meganes rapidly gaining on me after my pitstop, and overaggressive driving in front of me that took out 2 other cars that were also better-suited for this track (a Cayman and an 86). I also got lucky because there ended up being a 7+ second gap between me and the rest of the field in my first stint, so I didn't have to do too much defending after losing a spot to a Mercedes. Basically the best you can hope for in the 'Vette is to have a decent qualifying and to stay out of trouble. The handling cars will hound you for most of the lap and might get impatient being held up by you. I got lucky by being away from the chaos most of the race.

This race went better. Qualified 12th and went 4H/7M again, which helped me gain positions. Other than quite a bit of traffic early on, it was a pretty uneventful race. I would probably go again, but because this is no longer an official season and the servers aren't in the most stable condition, I'm going to call it a night.

Yeah I had a feeling the best strat would be just staying out of carnage, thank you!

After a frustrating start to slot 2 in North America, spinning out from mid-pack on Lap 1, this happened:

And it's repeated a couple of times since getting booted out of the race.
A long time since I've had that message. Hope it doesn't happen during my next attempt...

Just disconnected myself from the race load in screen, now to wait an hour and 20 minutes :nervous:

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I am now furious! Lap 10 and I have been kicked out again!! Same screen.

I had battled all race on Hard tyres and was in P3 froma P7 start, with a very frustrated, but clean, Jag (having pitted) behind me for 2 laps. Just about to finish Lap 10 of 11 and the connection goes!!🤬🤬🤬🤬
I was very confident of at least P4 and possibly P3 or hgher if I could have kept the Jag behind (as he was getting careless - but still fair) and 1 car in front hadn't pitted so might have got a 20s penalty, depending on the tyres he was on.

So, so frustrated this weekend!:banghead:

The online server status display at the lower left of the main menu screen has been displaying "some trouble with servers" for several hours. I'm not sure if it was displaying that before my race though.
Been like that since at least before slot 2, and has been an all-day problem since the 16:00 (UK time) slot in Europe

Welp I said I wasn’t gonna qualify but I did and predictably I was punted.
Starting in the front is dumb.
You try all the time to just mind your own business and the bastids bring you to their level.
Punted to last. Battled and punted back.
Starting last is better.
This game needs a better pen system.
Get position side by side with a person plodding through the esses without touching them leaving the a lane and they respond by crashing you.

What a race!! Went for the 1st slot and managed to qualify in P2. My highest qualifying ever in FIA.

image0-10.jpg

Unfortunately while going through the hairpin on lap 1 the Mustang in 3rd place was lagging and must not have seen my car because they took to the apex as if I wasn't there. Spun out and dropped back to 8th place right off the bat. Then I got too eager at the end of that lap and picked up a 1s track limits penalty in the final chicane which dropped me down to 12th and then eventually 14th on lap 2. At that point I really had to engage the hustle and try to make up some places. Thankfully the 86 is an absolute beast around Suzuka. Can't say that I finished with much paint on the sides of this Toyota, but the battles were fair and I ended up with a podium along with my best result in FIA ever!

Hi everyone, I am new here.
I did the manufacturer series in slot 1 ytd, got 101 points with a 3rd place finish.
But when I did the Slot 2, the lag got so bad that I had to escape and quit the race (the servers had issues all day)
When I logged into GT Sport and tried to do slot 5, the points earned from slot 1 race disappeared completely.
Any ideas on what happened, and how can I contact PD for this one? I have the slot 1 race replay saved as well.
Thanks!
