Another 7th for me in Manu after Qualifying in 6th with only 1 decent lap, so was quite pleased with that. (Specially with door number 18).

In the race a little to much fighting for position in the first stint, allowing people who started on mediums to sneak in the front at the end.

On to the corkscrew! :D

Manu 17-12, didn't do too well.
Nations, Lexus 16, missed my second lap on Qt, qualified 14. Hard a good race until I put the wrong tires on, medium instead of soft. Pitted again next lap. Followed an Italian guy who was pestering a British ahead until he pushed through and the British guy either braked or lifted, anyway I tapped him ever so slightly, but enough to make him drive off I later realized (we where ducking down the Chikane so I couldn't see him.
I finished 10th but the British guy called us dirty. That's fully understandable, even if I think I really couldn't avoid him.
Unfortunately I missed grabbing the replay....
I sent him a message on ps, hopefully he saved the replay so he can see.

Edit: apology and explanation accepted. All good then :)

Manu suprisingly went good. Q12 beacause of some idiot in gtr who ruined his lap and come back on racing line lnd then blocking me.... Got no words for his action.... So started on hards not expecting much, some players killed themselves in the COD, some got murdered by others and that let me gain some positions, pitted at lap 7? Took mediums and full tank of fuel. Dropped some places, dont remember:) Did some overtakes and finnaly pitted fir softs and little fuel. Now race started for me:) I was suprised by my own pace:D finished 6th, but shiuld be 5th, spanish guy who I overtake 2 times on last lap punted me twice, was so angry but couldnt catch him on last corner, definitely I would murder him;) all in all it was good racing day for me! Now is time for some cold beer, maybe two;)

I had a really decent Nations finish (3rd from 8th) and a so-so Manufacturers result (10th from 15th). But I'm feeling conflicted about my Nations podium today. I made a few overtakes at Turn 10, going deep on the brakes with a little contact. I try to be as clean as I can, and I want to improve. In the heat of the moment, sometimes it's hard to know... Here are 3 overtakes at T10. I'm in the white/pink Lexus. What do you guys think? Were they legit? Or am I a bad, dirty boy?

For a moment I was the most stupid person in the GT universe - more on that at the end.

Time for 3 races today, 2x manufactor and one shot at the Nations Cup.

Race 1: Dragon Tail. What a lovely place to be. Weather is always good and the more often I press the loud pedal on it, the more I like this track.
Had a terrible qualifying. Some drivers screamed Adios! as they saw me on the track which of course resulted in a penalty for - ME? Yes, what else. Qualified with the number board 7 at P15, so I decided to reverse the tire strategy and started on the hard ones. Suprisingly I was able to got the performance of the field and went 12th to the pits in 2nd lap. Within the race I gained performance and finished as 7th. A Supra missed his pit stop (how stupid) and after her penalty I was 6th - great result!

Race 2: Nations Cup. Barcelona. What a lovely place to be. Weather is always good and the more often I press the loud pedal, the more I hate this track.
Had a terrible qualifying. Some drivers screamed Adios! As they saw me on the track which of course resulted in a penalty for - AGAIN ME?. Qualified with number board 18th at 17th. The race was a bloody mess, finished 16th.

Race 3: Dragon Tail. What a lovely.... you already know what I want to say. Qualified with number board 7 at 5th position. What a race, survived T1 and went to 2nd. Kept thst position the whole race with comfortable 10sec to 1st and 10sec to 3rd. Lap 17 I went to the pit for the racing hard tires and then it happened. I was the most stupid person on the GT Planet. Sitting in the box I suddenly was thinking: "Ah, I can drive the last round with them, I'll save some time by not changing them". And vrooom, off I went. Within the pit suddenly it striked me...... 1 Minute penalty, finshed 16th.

I need a hug.... :(

Feel for you, mate, been there.
Leading Nurburgring 24hr, final lap, final corner, I turn right as if it's the Nordschliefe, smack into the barrier :banghead:
No hug but I'll pass u a beer

Right time for me to stream... although due to censorship I can't actively show you the screen in the Nations Cup! We'll be doing a practice lobby before hand, and also the manufacturer series after. I imagine a few memes coming from my facial reactions during this.

Imagine, censorship in a video game.

Managed to actually get a decent starting position for once in Nations even though I felt like I botched the chicane.
Managed to survive the first stint but then the drivers ahead of me just pulled away quite a bit in the second stint so I just played it safe and brought the car home for a very good result.
Not much in terms of highlights but here they are anyway.

My take:
1st overtake was legit, as you were already next to him before you both start to turn in.
The other 2, you sent it up the inside right as they were turning in for the corner, making the contact unavoidable, and you basically pushed them out of the way.

First one fine, second one dodgy - stuck your nose in where it really shouldn't have been, should have yielded on the exit, third one, you were maybe a bit quick into the corner but they could have got a cut back with slightly more awareness

You've come from a long way back in all of them, so some will automatically call you a dirty dive bomber. To me though dive bombers need contact to make the corner themselves, you're not in that bracket, and the only naughty move in my opinion was the second one. The other two, you're clearly far better than them on the brakes into that corner

So my race was going REALLY well, was fighting for 3rd place with a fellow brit.

On lap 3, my wheel decided to come slightly loose off the stand, was a little wobbly but was still fast enough to fight.

By the time it came to the first stops, narrowly came out behind him, but disaster struck on the next lap.

My wheel kind of.......fell off the stand.

I was trying to push it backwards to keep it there, but it was literally undriveable. So took the decision to retire the car haha.

I can only laugh about it, if not I will cry. :P

Well another 'epic' Saturday server status PD, Shadow realm myself in the first Nation's Cup race I tried at 19:20 and then the game goes down again like last Saturday, this new combo schedule Saturday has gone well so far...

The more people that log in now the more embarrassing their "live" stream of the top 16 race will be. Let's crank up those PS4's and cause havoc!

I never really thought about that possibility before. Something to keep in mind when I finally build a sim rig.

Sorry to hear about that, man. That sucks.

Raced 1st slot of the Nations round; qualified 15th, finished 7th. Started on hards, did a 1H/5S/5S/5S/3M strategy, but I probably should've done a couple of the soft stints for 4 laps and lengthened the Medium stint because of how much time I lost on the worn Softs. I could've had 6th if I'd done a few things differently in the race and if I'd been a little smarter about overtaking him in the final section of the track. I got 153 points, and a convincing Top 10 at a track that I (and I can't stress this enough) HATE WITH A PASSION. Still, the 153 points probably won't even make it into my final points total, so depending on how I feel after the Manufacturer's race, I might give Nations another try.

I agree with others. First move was pretty solid. Other 2, hmmmm. It is edging that line into a dive. Just from so far back it is important to realize that the driver ahead isnt expecting a car to appear alongside like that so there is going to need to be some room. It is that contact keeping them out there and wide that I don't like. It is what was happening to me a bit, space is there, lines are clean and I am still getting that bump off or push wide to unsettle my car. Definitely not looking malicious, just a bit messy, but we've all had a few of those. I still do it sometimes too. I think I had one last night as well getting caught out diving as I didnt realize how early the other person needed to brake.

It is all just practice and making sure if they get wiped out as a result then you wait for em.

I actually had a similar incident with my wheel during my first Manufacturers race. The connection between the wheel and the hub seems to have something in it in which a random button will be "pressed" once in a blue moon. This time the wheel decided to "press" the PS button and send me to the PS main menu, which meant the AI took over my car for about 5 seconds. Cost me 2nd place.

Wow, Manu slot 1 was a disaster. I qualied ok, came up with what I thought to be a good, disruptive pit strat and then Mt Doom rains on my parade.

I qualy P6. I decided to go 1H/8S/1M/8s. Then I get punted twice in L1 to get knocked to the back of the pack. The pit strat almost saved me as I got up to P9 by L7 but then I was my own worst enemy and let the chicane of death knock me out. Either I did my second pit early or pushed freakishly hard but I noticed on L16 that I didn't have enough fuel to finish the race. I had worked my way back up to P12 at that point and just wanted to scream. Actually, I did scream something along the lines of, "Aaargh-uff-ruruh-rraaar-aaar!" Between fuel saving and getting punted a few more times I finish P16. Thank god I have a couple hours to cool off before the next run at this.

Relatively uneventful Manufacturer's Cup race #1... Qualified 6th after being held up right out of the gate on qualifying hot lap (aargh... get out of the way or get on it!!! WTH?!) Was way too conservative on the start, wanting ~something~ in my pocket to be sure it was worth the effort if I didn't have a chance to get into other races later. But gave up a ton of spots in being so, and then added insult to it with a famous penalty for being rear-ended before the first hard right turn, when the pack of wolves behind smelled blood. As if those types need any more motivation, when you have to drive a whole lap with that "1.000 SEC PENALTY" banner... it's like you are persona non grata. Fell to 11th or so, worked my way back up on the track and rode out my 7S-1H-8M strategy turned 8-1-7 to a 6th, after not being able to hold on to one spot higher toward the end. Ended the race with too much fuel in the tank as well, but again, wanted one in the back. Of course, ended up with the same points as RBR, so it was all for naught anyway. But never hit the chicanes, ran consistent lap times, and didn't ruin my night.

The Nations Cup race is a blast (but tired me out too, I think...)! Those cars are BEASTS!. After racing most of the race in 6th or 7th, thought I was in for a solid finish there, but seemed like others were on the strategy to throw off the Hards early, and it must have worked better. My M's wore harder than I expected, and I had to run 2 laps on the H's at the end, which didn't help. But what a fun race. Big boy cars and track, for sure. Bumped up my points ranking ever so slightly, but I'm really only running the Nations for fun and experience.

Tough double-header, for sure... those Gr2 cars and then dealing with the Chicane of Death with Gr3 muscle on the heels of that one. Fun though!

Day 5 of increased DR points, this is usually where I have a setback and end up reversing some of the progress. Going to try and avoid that this week!

EDIT: re-ran the Nations race, revised strategy to 55531. Qualified 8th, just tried to avoid trouble, hit my marks, and run the strategy through... ended up 3rd, not a scratch on my GTR, after putting in a bit too much fuel on last stop, and having to unsuccessfully defend 2nd place on the coldish hards. Happy with a podium though! Not bad for a rookie, a podium in each of the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Series, in the first week.

EDIT2: ran this second Nations race with a pour of Jack Daniels Fire on ice in the cupholder... helps to take the edge off! Just a nip during the pit stops!

I shouldn't, but I love it! Can only think of the reaction when it happened!

1st slot of Manufacturers race

Qualified 11th and again started on Hards. The only other Corvette in the room (and the only other Corvette I've seen in a race in weeks...) qualified p4. 1st-13th were separated by less than 1s. I went with a 1H/5S/7M/5S strategy because of how hard the car/I am on tires. I got up into 4th before my last pit stop, and unfortunately got held up by a Porsche and a Supra battling, who i emerged from the pits directly behind. In the end I finished 6th, and might've had 5th if I could've gotten around the two other cars sooner. I actually crossed the line 7th, but the Ferrari ahead in 6th got a 1.5s penalty, which rounded up to 2s since he couldn't serve it before the race ended, and that rounded penalty gave me 6th place for 168 points. Even better, I finished 2 spots ahead of the other Corvette, despite starting 7 spots behind, with the penalized Ferrari splitting us at the finish. I have the raw pace to score more points, but I can't keep my tires alive long enough for it, so as disappointing as the points are for a track that's actually one of my favorites in the game, I guess I'll have to take it.
