The title of the video says it all

Looks like we raced each other in slot 2 (TacticalHomework). T1 looked very messy I was lucky to get a good start from the front row and avoid it all.

Looking at your slot 1 review that Godo guy I raced against in slot 4 & 5 was quick in those as well even though he looked all over the place it was probably his lag, fortunately he didn't brain snap like he did against you. Also good to see my cadbury livery getting around with it being featured on MrDonovan's car lol.

Anyone here also practicing for Nations? Fastest lap in the '16 Super GT 500 in Free Practice is 1:31.9, and when fuel saving in a lobby I'm only able to get around the mid-1:33s to low 1:34s (without draft and with a no-stop). I'm not sure if everyone will be going for the no-stop or not, so I'm not sure if the slower times will payoff in the end or not, but I figure Fuji's pit loss is pretty big due to how long the main straight is, right?

But Gr. 2 cars on Racing Hards just feel terrible to me. They go from having grip to sliding so quick which not only means the rear can fly out but the front can understeer into oblivion, too. Probably not going to be a great Nations race but at least I get to finally show off my Speed King/Jintei livery.

Epic liveries. I've created a 'Speed King' livery too. I can't tell from the photo but do you have the buddah head logo?

I've made quite a few cars from, and themed from Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero.

Seeing all these replays for Nations, now I'm not so sure about racing anymore lol, I'm hoping it's just a case of the dirty races being more shareable/entertaining and that it's possible to have a clean start but those aren't being shared.

Thanks! I do, I chose to use a version of it that's a black outline though instead of the full color one. I thought it matched the racecar look better. What's your PSN? There are a few players I follow who make quality TXR liveries and I'm curious if you're one of the ones I follow already.

I just quite my first try at Nations. It was just a frenzy, had 6 seconds of penalties by the end of lap 1 and was hit so hard in lap 2 that my car didn't run properly the rest of the lap! I didn't even realise damage was a thing until today, it ruined the entire race, but I was outclassed anyway trying my luck with the SC430.

My PSN is Neil1jnr. I've only had the game since February, so I wouldn't like to call mines quality haha. Although mines out anyway. I had an idea about learning to make decals and make all the ones from TXR Zero, but thankfully found a lot of them by trying different tags in the searches and scouring back years!

Feel free to add me.

The problem is we've just had a whole week at Fuji, where people have had time to practice their dive bomb passes, had success barging others around and got others dumb penalties, all whilst the driver at fault mainly got away with it. :banghead:

Now onto the nations race I expect they'll just try to repeat those tactics since they worked before. There is a standing start though, so a more bunched up field, the cars are faster and so the collisions will be bigger and oh and there's damage on, it's not going to end well at all.

Even if they wreck their own car it'll then be someone else's fault and they'll run straight into them at full (no brakes anyway) speed in Turn 1 for "revenge", no doubt catching some other innocent person in it all and wreck their race too. :(

With the penalty system as it is only the very best will have a hope of running in clean rooms now, everyone else will have at least one or two idiots in their room and it doesn't take much more than that to end up with utter madness all race long. :ouch:

NATION'S

Qualifying went ok for once with a decent lap putting me in 11th, could have been higher given a slipstream down the main straight but I'll take that.

Forgetting that this was a grid start initially I made a good launch but as always all hell broke loose and I was awarded a 3 second penalty for no reason and was demoted from P7 to P14. Lap 2 and I get one car into T1 for 13th and a RC-F at Dunlop. A GT-R ahead had a penalty promoting me and got past another on the outside of T1 and made it stick into coca cola leaving me in 10th.

Lap 5 and I'd caught up to the pack ahead and got a white GT-R at Hairpin for 9th. Lap 6 and I go wide at 13th ultimately putting me back into 12th, not happy. Got into 10th as one car pitted and got the Lexus at T1 though. Got the same white GT-R that lap at the same corner for 9th, again. The car in 8th braked really early into T1 allowing me to get past for 7th.

Ended up pitting lap 11 for a lap and a bit of fuel only to come out in 10th and with a massive pack behind, which would be my undoing as that lap I was promptly shoved out the way at Dunlop and given a 1.5 second penalty dropping me 5 places to 14th. Still managed to come home in 11th, exactly where I started.

Overall a fun combo and am going in for another go with a different livery of course, got a few for this car!

Yeah that 1st corner is a bit chaotic, even in an A plus lobby.

Ended up getting a 5th out of the 08 Lexus, but I don't think it is really fast enough. Good on fuel, and good at the start, but I think it is a few tenths behind the 16 cars so you will end up qualifying a wee bit too far back. I didn't try the 08 GTR but someone qualified up in 6th so I think it might be ok. Not going again as 5th was ok, and a fuel saving race isn't generally too exciting (A couple of people in front of me tried pitting, but I never saw them again so I don't think it is worth it).

Yeah, that was a bush league move on my part, sorry about that. Getting wrecked on lap one really set me off, and the chance for revenge came faster than I was able to calm down.

Didn't know you were around here, apologies accepted 👍

I wanted to post about those type of actions because I was wiped out three times by people crashing intentionally in a week or so, it becomes quite frustrating... On the other hand, when you are lucky, races can be clean and really enjoyable.

Another one, another pole... Rest the same... Only exception this time I manage to climb up a lot, 7th place... Could have 5th but spanish clown wont let me do that... Later I upload replays from both races, especially 1st corner 1st lap... Its not even frustrating, its just stupid

Another bad thing in this track is that the pole position is on the left side... Sennna was so right that pole sitter should have right to choose side

Ffs is what I think of that.

Waited for some cars to go round so I could get a lap in clean air, start my flying lap and two cars are exiting the pits, one does the right thing and backs off, the other? Straight on the racing line and proceeds to hold me up all the way to the hairpin at the start of sector 3 when I have to make a really late move. Then at the start of the next lap, he drives straight into the back of me at T1

Reset and try to cool my boiling head down

After that just couldn't hook up a lap, the car was more slide-y than normal in the third sector (maybe I'd cooked the tyres a little on the out lap through anger) and I couldn't break 1:32 after doing repeated 1:31.5 in practice lobbies - which would have had me on pole. So I started 15th.

Tried to avoid the chaos, there wasn't that much really, get bumped wide and run 17th until I get dive bombed into T6. Dive bomber loses it at the start of sector 3, I have nowhere to go so collect him, front end damage and a penalty because obviously it's my fault he was side-on to me, down to 19th.

Slowly gain a couple of places, not really making inroads ahead but I'm definitely no stopping from here. As people wear their tyres I start getting that bit quicker relatively through the final sector, and overtakes begin to happen. One sticks out, a Brit in an NSX who was fuel saving so heavily that I just drove past him down the straight from 0.7s back, I was miles ahead going into T1, he dive bombs and pushes me off! Seriously, you've just driven the length of the straight with everything turned down as much as possible and you want to do that? How little race awareness is it possible to have?! He then defends for his life up to the end of sector 2 when I make a forceful move on him as a little bit of payback.

Took another car heavily fuel saving, a couple pit, I needed to save a little more fuel to finish and just get over the line in 8th

If the little one goes to sleep on time I'll be in a later slot because I'm way quicker than this around here

Second attempt at Nation's

Qualifying went better this time round. I improved my lap by 2 tenths and started in 9th , IMPROVEMENT!

Turn 1 and a grid start and after making a good launch a car at the back braked to late and touched the grass on the inside and went bowling, leaving me in last, not impressed at all. Anyway nothing to lose and everything to play for now!

Lap 1 and I got past a car at Panasonic and another as they served a penalty for 17th. T1 and I got past an NSX for 16th place, hoping I can keep this up! Caught up with the back of the pack at Dunlop and passed another car at Panasonic of 15th. At hairpin I passed the car that went bowling on lap 1 for 14th now a little of the back of that pack, quickly caught up and the car in 9th went wide at Panasonic and of right into a wall, I was now in 13th.

On the next lap and a calsonic GT-R goes really deep into Panasonic and forces me wide and down a position. That and a stupid track limits penalty put me back to 16th again by lap 6. Got past mr bowling again and an early pitter put me in 14th again. Next lap and due to more early pit stops I was in 11th and crucially had clean air for some fast laps to close the gap and hopefully jump those cars who had pitted. Lap 8 and 2 more positions with people pitting and I'm still going and have used less fuel than all of them so far.

Contact between two cars ahead promoted me to 6th with the help of another move at Panasonic. I then pitted for fuel on lap 11 not taking any tyres and came out in 9th where nothing happened until the end where I finished 9th.

Happy with that recovery and still a better result than the first attempt. Going to leave it there for now. As I don't want to push it with that grid start. Also thanks to @Slender_Man for the awesome livery!

Based on yours and the other reports, seems possible to climb from the back of field on L1 to a top 10, if you're careful. Hope that's my experience tonight, because I'm all but expecting to either get punted in T1 or lay back so much I may as well (though saving the SR hit if the penalty system gets it wrong, which is the norm). If running a smart and safe race, either in a no-stop fuel saving strategy or even with a splash-and-go, lends itself to a decent finish in the top half of the field, I'm good. Nervous that it isn't as easy as that sounds, though!

I ran the first slot on my kids account. He only has the old Lexus so I went in that, thinking a fuel saving race was my best bet.
Starts as p13, goes at lights out but the car in front just spun his wheels. Try to go around, he swerved in Infront of me so I give him a push start.
Then figure if I hug the inside of T1 and brake early I can be safe, not a lot behind me.
Nope, rammed straight through the people ahead and a 2 sec penalty.
Well, up to p10 by last turn inspite of heavy fuel saving.
Lap two I am behind a German in a black 08 Lexus, and a British driver in a GT-R comes up besides me as we approach the chikane. The german brakes a little early and there is no way to go except trying to brake and turn in. I tap the German about his door, but thanks to the new collision he doesn't loose any spots and I come to a standstill so he can get a free run out
Then the British driver started fighting him with sideswipe. I stay behind to the straight then the German pits and I pass him in pit.
Onto lap 12, I have been shifting as t 40-50% all race. Ahead of me on the straight is the German, he goes very slow but there isn't room to pass clean so I wait to after T1 and goes for a pass on the left.
He just rams me into the wall! I got two seconds for pushing a car off? Looses two spots too.
Finished in p13. Asked why after the race but he left.
I think it was a case of mistaken identity...
Will see if I get a chance to run later, haven't got any time for Manu tomorrow.

I noticed you stayed away from that curb the entire race, I plan to do the same! Thanks for posting your replays you're not of this world man really killing it. Great info on the times it helps, I ain't hitting 1:30s maybe a lap and I don't even want to talk about fuel, that'll become an issue.
Thankfully, the time loss isn't as detrimental as going forwards by avoiding the curbs. I would, however, try to cut the second part of the curbs on the left because it lines you up a lot better for the subsequent right. Otherwise, you are forced to take a narrower line and get the understeer on exit. Usually, that's where I see people lose time throughout that whole section.

You should be able to avoid a lot of the T1 action if you go up the inside of T1, was tricky for me starting on the outside.

So, I shall definitely be offing someone to night.

@Ashthebash Only made two spots on the last lap. One player binned it and I caught up. The other must have had a big penalty.
The NSX did feel good. I put fresh tyres on Lap 6. Had 52% in the tank. One of the GT-Rs pit same lap, had 55%. I'll go again.

Edit: This makes it look even worse! How the hell did he get Pole position with driving like this!!!

This is what I was saying a few days ago, absolutely gutting that is.

STOP REVENGE PUNTING, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. WATCH THE REPLAY AND THEN SPEAK TO THE DRIVER DIRECTLY IF YOU STILL HAVE AN ISSUE.

ITS STUPID AS ****!!!! ALL THESE PLAYERS SAYING THEY RACE CLEAN - THAT IS NOT CLEAN!!!!!!
:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

put me off tonight that has, may take a pass on this race - again :indiff:

Third try... I dont believe it myself... 3rd pole today, 3rd time murdered in 1st corner... Penalty system is a joke, which makes this game becoming a joke. Yamauchi, I WONT BUY gt7:cheers:
Good luck everyone who plan to participate in this madness:banghead:

One and done today. Got ever-so-slightly tapped to the rear at t1 and received a 3 second penalty for forcing another car off track. At least the fellow who tapped me got a 2s penalty as well.
Not gonna bother anymore, since I didn’t seem to have any pace anyway. These gr.2 cars just do not suit me..

Second slot on Nations was just carnage. Same again, demolition derby lap 1. After that, I was getting some good racing until randomly nudged off track.

Decided to go no holds barred, anihilated anyone that was racing dirty, relegated from DR B to D due to SR going down to an E.

Couldn't care as I only play for fun. I love a good clean race but I've just had enough. I'll try another slot tonight and see...

Went again, got put in a higher ranked lobby, and did much better.

Solid qualifying with a 1:31.7 put me 9th on the grid and I got a great start, up to 5th before braking for T1 where I got shoved a couple of times but nothing catastrophic, stayed as wide and as safe as possible, dropped back down to 7th on the exit and just settled down for a nice drive really.

The pace wasn't blistering so there were no issues keeping up, and while I would have preferred clean air to lap quickly (as I always do), the top seven made a little break away. Sixth (who was pushing hard) pitted at the end of L12 and I was close to taking 5th at the end, he had just enough to get him over the line. It was just a nice comfortable drive with no mishaps

Will have tomorrow off (never driven DTG reverse) and concentrate on the two Spa events coming up

All nice and calm now :D

*By the way, is there any way to find out what split they put you in?

All these Nations reports have really got me wondering if I should bother chancing the race today. I didn't do lobby practice but I did do two custom races. (Work cancelled on me this week, I have way too much time.) The grid start absolutely makes the first lap WW1 level trench warfare. If I had better speed, I'd just start from the back and hang back while people murdered each other but I was barely keeping pace with the lead AI in my practice races. I did make an alt-account yesterday but lower levels are only going to be worse...

Qualified 2nd. Bottled it at the exit of T1 and spun onto the infield, right down to 19th (just ahead of a maniacal Omani driver who speared pack at T1), so I decided to try a 0-stopper, and then some little Tory rat boy PIT'd me on the back straight. **** this.

Started from 2nd on the grid. Got past the polesetter rightaway thanks to the 2008 Nismo's fast acceleration but binned it immediately coming out of the first corner  Got on the throttle too early and had an extended trip onto the grass. Fell back to stone dead last. Had recovered back to 12th by the beginning of lap 3 but got punted wide on t1 thanks to someone missing their braking point and got handed a 3 sec penalty just for good measure 👍

Took another trip onto the green stuff because I got on the accelerator on the astroturf and fell back to 17th. Managed to recover to 10th by the end of the race.

Eh, there's still one more slot.

Qualified 16th, finished 12th. Very good race from my perspective considering I race D/S and they lobby consisted of 11 A/S, 2 B/S, and 4 D/S drivers. I averaged 1:38.## per lap so I am pleased with the pace. Ended the race DR 595 (594 jump in one race), SR back up to 99, and 65 awesome Nations Cup points, Not a bad haul for a single night's race.

After T1 (on L1) I dropped into fuel conservation (+4) for the first few laps then stopping on lap 7 for fuel bumped it back up to normal for the remainder of the race. The early pit stop didn't work out as much as I hoped but I was able to pass 1 driver on lap 11 while they took their pit stop. I was hoping for more victims (since 9th - 16th positions were somewhat close) but nope no dice today.

Everyone has been reading the blogs & forums because for only 2 drivers got tangled up in T1. They (yes they) were 4 wide but somehow made it through. I hung back waiting for the T1 carnage and was surprised. The field actually made it through T2 as well. From there the field started to spread out and by end of lap 2 there was a pack of about 4 drivers 17 hours (or 30 seconds I cannot remember) ahead of the rest of the field and we were pretty much single file with 1 - 2 second gap (estimated gap of course).

Overall quite pleased with today's Nations Cup race. Enjoy your racing!

Qualified 6th and jokingly told everyone in the pre prace chat to the send it up the inside at t1. Just to loosen up the tension a bit y'know? Well, guess what? I got just what I asked for

Anyway, the race was (mostly) lunatic free from there on out and I managed to recover from 18th to 5th. Seeing how I qualified 6th that's an improvement, right? Come on, you gotta look on the bright side! :dopey:

Finished 3rd in slot #2 North American lobby at Fuji. Low A/S lobby with the last 4 cars being B/S.

Qualified 4th with no help, and the first 16 spots were covered by only 0.8 seconds! Tight field!

Had a great 3 way battle for the next 7 laps or so, until the leaders both pit and left me out in front. I cannot save fuel to save my life so I pit on lap 11 for a splash and , probably mistakenly, tires rejoining in 3rd as the new leaders did not pit. I just couldn't run them down, and finished 3rd for 147 points with CRB. A little disappointed, but not shabby. I won't go again.

Gained 1,100 DR now at 33,200

The real positive thing is 3 of my last 5 rounds are counting on my score which gives me hope maybe I'm getting a little faster!
