only did the Nations Cup today, which went alright. went with the Megane as if everyone else is, I might as well - I quite like how it handles anyway and I've not really settled on a favourite Gr.4 car yet (plus I like the livery I have for it, which we all know is the most important thing).

practice I was just dipping into the 2:05s I think, and quali I did a 2:06.8 or so - first lap was rubbish, second lap i came across someone who was on an out lap, let me through but did so whilst camped on the apex of a corner (!) but still did a decent lap, and the last one was a shambles apart from the last sector that was ace. optimal time would have put me 2nd, actual lap was 5th. fair enough.

race itself was alright, I only made one mistake all race and that was to bump into someone on the last corner, was about four cars all super close and I messed up my braking as I couldnt see my braking point. penalty received, my bad. couple of naughty moments from other people, but generally fair, ending with me finishing where I started in 5th. could have been better, could have been much worse, so I'll take it.

then of course I did the daily race on the same track and had a nightmare and lost all the DR/SR points I gained in the FIA race. standard.

 Ahh this is amazing..

Side note: Is the Ferrari Gr4 BoP bad at the moment? Just did some lobby practice and I was predictably slower than the Trophies but the car just felt very crappy on the brakes. Binary in the sense it felt like it was instantly locking the brakes and I'd either understeer or, because I drive it rear biased, crazy tail slide on entry. Super annoying and frustrating to drive. That's probably not a BoP issue and more some kind of physics change. I thought they did an update months ago to remove this weird braking effect and maybe its back with a recent change.. WHATEVER.. Im going to do poorly in the races anyway.
Try-2 on the brakes, worked good for me

Red mist got me today in the nations race, I got knocked and it all fell apart from there, I had the chance for some good points but threw it all away, honestly ashamed of that race :(

the manu race I reset and had a much better race, but PD really need to look at the supras fuel usage, I was saving heavily from the start and still pitted with much less fuel than others, pleased with the outcome but cold have been better.

Manufacturer Series - Interlagos - Viper Gr. 3

Me before the race: Dear Viper, please be a good boy and don't spin out on me.

Interlagos is another one of those tracks that I don't have nailed down, despite hours of practicing. I qualified into 14th place with a 1:33.xxx (Forgot the milliseconds). The first half of lap 1 was FILTHY. Lots of car bumping each other, and someone a few places ahead of me slammed another car off the track. Was it from lag? Could be. Intentional? could be. Either way, definitely not cool.

First two laps had me nervous; I was more worried about getting hit than keeping my position. That, and I was also nervous that I'd put a tiny bit too much power into my car and spin out.

In the end, I managed to climb up 4 positions and finish in 10th place. I was also the fastest driver for Dodge! ... Because I was the only one in a Dodge. I accept 10th place with pride, as I did not spin out. :D

My manufacturers cup race today with the huracan gr3 was somewhat awful to say the least. Qualified 3rd despite being the only lambo driver on my grid. However, i got two penalties on the 1st stint that i have to serve for a total of 5 seconds. This occassion was brutal to say the least espicially the rear tires on both stints even with tc on 3. Somehow salvaged 11th after serving a third penalty which was a minor 2 second one on the second stint. At least i did win on the two group 4 races earlier in this season to made it up for this

The Megane Trophy does not belong in Gr.4. I can't count how many times in today's race that I checked the gap, braked, and then turned in toward the apex just to have a Megane appear out of nowhere and cross my line giving me a penalty.

The difference in braking distances alone should disqualify it from competing. Might as well be GTE vs P2, 'cause that's what it felt like.

Me before the race: Dear Viper, please be a good boy and don't spin out on me.

Greetings from the same race! Glad you're happy with your result. It was a competitive room. I was picking up the pieces from my horrible performance on wednesday.

Anyone know how the Corvette group 3 car ended up either with an insanely large fuel tank or a Prius engine :D?

Oh stop :lol::lol:

Me and Tidge had a great manufacturer battle for 1st, with my Corvette taking the win due to its uncanny ability to go an entire season without refueling :p

Prius Engine because he was in and out of the pits pretty quick

Haha sorry I couldn't resist xD! I fuel saved like a mad man :D, can I put that engine in the RCZ :D? It is a VGT so technically it can have any engine right :D?

Honestly I'd say that Corvette is 100% the reason for any sucess I've had in GT Sport at this point, I've used it pretty consistently since February now  Such a good Group 3 car and still absolutely disgustingly underrated in the EMEA region :D

But, er, no, you may not have my engine :p

Sorry Super Duper Double Secret proprietary property of General Motors Chevrolet Division for use in the Corvette exclusively!

Nnnnnoooooooo I'll bribe with cookies :O

Haha I definitely don't underrate in fact it's my 2nd choice as there's a GTA Livery haha :D!

Anybody else terrible at qualifying? I probably don’t practice enough because in every race I set a faster lap than my qualifying time.

Anyway I was the top McLaren driver on Interlagos today. It helped a little that I was the ONLY McLaren driver:lol:
Finished 6th, not bad after qualifying 10th

The Meganie race I qualifying 7th and finished 3rd.

Anyway, great clean racing, intense too. Even for a lowly B/S driver:boggled:

I feel like I'm doomed or something! If I do well in one race, the other will be a terrible one! 1900 on nations, 100 on manufacturer's :(

This is something that happens quite a lot, I've never been able to score well on both, what am I missing?!

I’ve raced with a guy in McLaren today. A+/S both of us.

Finally had a consistent result in both races. Like @Sharkart_Kun i had been the same up till tonight, great in one race, terrible in the other. 5th in both races, but they were complete opposite.

In the Megane race at Maggiore I had a terrible qualifying, ended up 9th as the 3rd seed in the room, and was stuck behind slower cars for most of the first stint and got 6 seconds of penalties for various accordions that stacked everyone up. Passing people on the outside in that banked right hander has to be one of my favourite moves in the game, barely anyone expects it since they all defend low, but it’s a NASCAR style turn, and as everyone knows the outside always gets the better run off the corner. Appropriate for the 90’s Terry Labonte livery I have on my Megane. Actually short pitted for once and it worked, ended up 5th, would’ve finished 4th but I had to take those penalties and someone got by me. My goal was just to get 4 digit points and I achieved that so I should end up top 10 in Canada which is always my goal in Nations.

Interlagos was the opposite, was the #1 seed in the room so expected a big DR loss since the WRX drove like it was on ice, but qualified 5th. Had to race with some fast Corvettes (which despite being underrated in Europe, has been by far the most popular car in the Americas since the 911 got nerfed) for most of the race, but held my position and got a clean race bonus/no penalties for the first time in a while. Now hopefully @BLKJ Evolution can’t close the 600 point gap I have on him for the Subaru title.

Got killed in qualifying and that pretty much put me in an early grave. Everyone was running at an equal pace so I couldn’t gain on the cars in front.

But if I look at it this way... I was running equal to some pretty badass folks. And I’ll take that and just qualify better from now on.

Onwards to the second phase.

That whole double Top 24 races in a single season feels extremely weird. Guess (hope) they just want to test out two different formats before the final season. But them still testing stuff at this point just reinforces the feeling all of this is rushed. But as long as my races go as well as the last ones I had, I'll be happy :D

Also, please, Americas and Asia Mazda drivers, please, make good results :lol:

I blame my poor racing today on the heat and not on oneself.
May I blame my performance on my pedals :(
I always am - that's why I'm the motoring editor for the news section of the site along with being a site administrator.

For example, right now I'm very carefully choosing to wonder why my name is appearing in that sentence and why you're addressing me in that manner.

The best you'll get in that bribe is Lightning's Subaru

It was the opposite for me in the manu cup. I had a great quali time (still midfield though), but my race pace was nowhere to be seen :(

Qualified 8th with the Ferrari Gr.3 at Interlagos. This is a tough car to drive on that track with tire wear, but kept pace and conserved fuel, got the jump on a couple cars because of that. Was gunning for 5th but this jackass in a Toyota decided to burn penalties twice in front of me, which resulted in a penalty for me as I went wide to avoid and let the driver behind me catch up and finish ahead due to that penalty. Great...

Penalties should not be able to be burned off, when are you going to figure this out, PD!! All it does is screw up other drivers who are trying to race cleanly.

I boycotted the Nations race because the Megane Trophy makes it a farce.

A/S Manufacturers lobby: started last with my WRX after qualifying two seconds slower than my practice times. Managed to finish 12th. Took advantage of opponents spinning out. I even had a half spin myself. Jumped a couple drivers in the pit stop. 673 points. I need to improve my qualifying.

Once again I experienced the "extra" understeer on the second stint.

The Subarus are great on fuel economy. Has anyone pulled off a no-stopper with a WRX?

I figured I'd struggle at Interlagos with the Jag but I somehow ran a personal best during qualifying and started 3rd. I was trying my best to keep a Viper behind me at bay and to stay with the two leaders. Then one of them had a big moment in the last sector and they ended up colliding. I went to attack but I couldn't get around them. Still, I was not that far back once pit stops rolled around. Unfortunately, despite trying to save fuel when I could, I somehow got jumped big time by a Lexus that I didn't even know was behind me. Got passed soon after I came back on track and I went down to 4th. However, everyone ahead of me had penalties so I decided to let 3rd run unopposed so that we can catch back up to the Lexus. Worked to perfection. Stole 2nd at the line.

Nations, I honestly don't know what to say because even now, I'm still trying to process what just happened.

A top split room. A pole on merit and a bit of drafting luck. A good enough pace to stay just far enough ahead. Score one for the human driver! :D

As usual I’m the opposite, I short pitted by a lap and the two Corvettes that were a second behind me and pitted a lap later both came out ahead of me because it took so long for me to take fuel

If my tires are OK I'm going to try pitting later and gain some seconds refueling. I pitted at the end of lap eight in Interlagos, loaded seven laps of fuel, and finished the race with more than a lap of fuel left.

That’s what I usually do, but my tires were pretty much used up after 4 laps since the car slid around so much.

You are getting very lucky running with an A driver rating. It's working to your advantage, as it appears I am quite faster than you by our practice laps, but the Subaru isn't as competitive in the A+ rooms. This should be a fun season.

We’re pretty close in Gr.4, you’re a lot better in Gr.3. I usually get matched with 4-10 A+s, but I generally avoid the peak times. But I did have a few A only rooms, including tonight. My DR is always right on the cusp of 50k so it’s iffy who I get matched with.

Yeah, I've been having really bad luck in the rooms I've been in with people that have absolutely no idea how to drive a clean line or defend properly. Which rooms have you been racing in?

I always race in the first lobby, usually whichever race of the two i think will affect my SR the least, and usually do the third lobby if it’s manufacturers or second or fourth if it’s Nations since I always get put in the elite room if I do the third slot of Nations and finish 18th.

My finishes were 8th, 11th, 10th, and 5th, so I have no idea how I got as many points as I did, really.

Pretty much all 8 races were amazingly clean this series, miraculously. It does seem like the later you play the worse people drive most of the time. Or the matching is worse.
