Feeling good about Fuji and the 911. I know I'm doing pretty well when I get within under a second of @Mistah_MCA 's time . Tire wear basically doesn't exist with the low multiplier, I was able to lap a 1:40.4 and (barring mistakes) I could stay within 0.5s of that time in lobby practice; even in the final few laps I wasn't losing much time. Fuel is a non-issue too, so make sure to kill those polar bears when waiting on the grid.

Just hoping that'll be competitive in a high A lobby...

I might run the Nations Cup once tomorrow. I tested the Atenza, Evo and Mustang in Custom Race.

- Atenza’s steering feels too sluggish for me
- Evo and Mustang are much more responsive in turning
- Mustang has just enough fuel to finish the race without refueling or using the leaner fuel maps (I drive automatic)
EDIT- The Atenza and Evo can finish without refueling or fuel maps too, but the Mustang had just enough fuel to complete the race.
- 2 stop (6S-5M-6S) feels like the best strategy to me.
- Trying to drive around on worn Mediums is asking for trouble (as my 2 excursions with the 1-stop Evo can attest to).
- I find 8S-1M-8S to be questionable due to the tyre wear setting in towards the end of the Soft stints.
-You can cut the left kink/final hairpin entry combo, but adhere to the ‘2 wheels on road’ rule, lest you get slapped with a 1.5 second penalty.

I’m not sure whether to go for the Mustang for the pace advantage or the Evo for the safety of 4WD.

That helps a bit, but still seems to either blow up a section of the pack, or it sort of delays it till the chicane at the back. Think I will still give it a go anyway
Fuji is a weird one for me. I either do really well, as I won 3 daily races there when it was race C the other week, or I do awfully and get close to rage quitting. Hopefully it’s a little calmer due to it being an FIA race, but the recent Nations looked a right mess, albeit it was a grid start.

Ok, spent sometime in the Nation's Cup race's free practice circuit today and hit all three strikes for an out:

1. I hate Willow Springs! All forms of this track.
2. Raceway too narrow and every race I have ever participated in has led to punting carnage into the unknown desert (only takes once to have "Race Over").
3. I played with brake bias and TCS and the best I could do was 1:18.805 with neutral brake bias and TCS of 5 (yep that is a 5), not very competitive.

My slow old a$$ and the Subaru are sitting this one out. The GR.3 Manufacture's race is looking good though - My Citroen and I are looking for top 10 this week.

Hoping I still get put into a decent A lobby for Fuji tomorrow. 4 races on race B almost reset me. :/ SR is barely still S rating so fingers crossed. Along with most people, not trying my hand at Willow Springs. Did a sloppy 1:09.8xx but there is going to be way too many off tracks and punts. Slippery RX Vision at Fuji it is!

Looking like its just 1 race left in the Manufacturers season ...Red Bull Ring. Not going to risk Fuji. My lap times are ok, but i just don't really like the track and on Hards its just even worse. The last 2 corners are up there as the worst on any track for me. As for Nordschleife? no way! haha. SR destroyer that one. Total carnage every time i've raced there!

I'm reading "meme racing" :mischievous:

I'm hearing that the Subuwu and the Evo are good here. Since you will need to dip part of the car into the sand to get good times, their AWD nature should easily keep the car from doing anything silly.

Now to test if 2 or 3 stop is the way to go...

E: Tested on the WRX. 3 stop was 1 second faster for me. Only problem is that you'll likely pit out into traffic for any strategies. :(

For 2 stop, I went 8s/8s/1m. I shifted when the bar was 85-90% full, and had about 1.5 laps of fuel left when I finished.

3 stop, I went 5s/5s/6s/1m. Pit stop is fast here, which makes 3 stop possible.

Pit time: 13.379 s
Stop time: 5.588 s

I would say that from my experience racing "carousel" races at Maggiore Center, the extra pace you get from 2 stopping is not worth the time loss battling through traffic. If you get blocked by a slower car, that's your stint game over. I would go a 1 stop, try to get an undercut and then stretch the softs as long as possible. Of course, half the battle on this track is trying to avoid corner cut penalties and getting sent to Narnia by divebombers

I wonder if a no stop on RM is possible with the tyre saver cars (GT86, Megane T, Alfa), or is the pace too slow?

BTW, with regards to your pit times, it would be a lot more helpful (and accurate) to get the actual pit loss time (time spent pitting minus time on track bypassed). At this track I timed it at 6 seconds. Just my suggestion to make your already excellent video guides even better 👍

Going in. Using the Mustang. .8s slower than myFP time in the WRX. At this stage, knowing GT7 is on its way, the Dr/SR thing really doesn't matter to me.

Edit: Identical time with the Lancer. I set the time first though. ;)

Edit: Wasn't bad. Someone in a WRX hit my twice, but other than that, Mustang did what it did. It's turn-in and higher top end, kept me in the game.

I messed up with calculatinfg fuel. I didn't have to add anything. 6RS/6RS/2RM/3RS. I pit again for RS as I had served a penalty earlier and a Viper I was battling, had a penalty. The Gt-R behind had a peanlty after pitting for RS. Figured I'd be able to defend and attack on a fresh tyre.
I pitted with 18%(2.6Laps) Thought I'd need more fuel. splashed to 25%. At the line, I had 1.5Laps of fuel! Didn't need to add anything! Oh well. Could have been worse.

Anyway, I come out behind a WRX and Evo. i'm gaining time last couple laps. We're taking time off the GT-R. WRX bumps Evo off track at back straight. I swoop in and grab the inside of the final turn as the Evo struggles with understeer. to the finish.

Fuji time with Big Lex.

Edit2: The Little Golf VGT gave be a bump draft. Thank you.

I was setting fastest laps toward the count down. a touch slower on my last run. P2 is trying to catch up. I pull over befiore the PZ to pit entry and he comes over to bump me.

Good run at fuji in the m6, it is a nightmare round there on hards but once you get into a rhythm it's survivable. Started 8th I think and finished 8th, would of been 7th if not for the being taken out by a giant dive bomb from the guy running behind, who go 7th and yep, no penalty.

Shall we

:lol: Haha you know you’ve been playing the game too long when you have “enemies”:lol:
No, it doesnt have to be a long time. Just to have been hit or punted by a person every time I have gotten near them in a race. I don't know that they would consider me an enemy as they seem quite happy to punt and push off lots of people. However, after having them ruin at least 3 races of mine and having had contact pretty much anytime I am near them I would definitely consider them an enemy of mine as well as an enemy of clean racing.
:ouch::scared:
Sad thing is they will probably be in the next round if I go in.:yuck:

Alright folks, time for my usual intel from top split Nations:
-Mix of Evo & WRX, except for 5 hipsters with 2 Meganes and 3 GT86s (including me)
-Most people did 1 stop or 2 stop
-Most who did 2 stop either held position or moved backwards
-The 1 stoppers held position or moved forwards 1-2 places (I've seen 10S+7M to 7S+10M work, just depends on your starting grid and traffic situation)
-One guy did 3 stops, went backwards due to very messy race (including yeeting me in the final hairpin and got off scot free :grumpy: Apologised afterwards so better than nothing I guess)
-No one did a no stop
-Winner is Nik Makozi in the GT86, with a 7M+10S strat. I wasn't too confident in my tyre saving and went 8M+9S, and still had worse tyres than him at the end. I suspect he had BB +5 though because his rears are a lot more worn than mine. I can't get consistent braking with that much rear bias, so probably wouldn't have made too much difference to the end result anyway.
-The 4WD cars are around 0.5 sec quicker in quali, but race pace drops off a lot more near the end of a stint. If you can hang with them in the GT86, you're in good position to jump them later. The RWD cars are weak in battling though, you can't cut corners and maintain stability so keep that in mind when choosing.
-Some tips: find an alternate braking marker for T1 other than the 100m board, because they disappear quickly  Also if you're side by side through the squiggly bit after the backstraight, best to back off because if you touch and the other guy even touches the sand with 2 wheels, you will get a penalty :banghead:

Crazy race, just keep your cool and save tyres as much as possible. I wouldn't push my luck here in lower splits, it can become a DR/SR sink very very quickly.

Manu Fuji race is completely opposite. No strat, just go flat out. My room had a super tight quali (everyone was within 1 sec ). Pretty much held station the whole race and finished 3rd. Not bad for Slowbaru considering I lost 0.3 sec on the main straight alone :D
