Started P8 and settled in nicely. The race was surprisingly clean for the first few laps. Then a car spun out directly in front of me on the main straight. I just avoided it but went into the gravel. After that I was P12 and decided to stay behind, short shift and watch the carnage unfold. There were yellow flags in front of me almost every lap. Finished the race in P4:eek:

Willow Springs did what Willow Springs does.

Brands does that too:lol:

The Toyota race was a tad better, qualified 17th and finished 10th. 1500Pts.

I went the other way round in this race. Qualified 8th finished 12th. Collected 8s (as far I remember) of the 🤬 penalties for more or less nothing. Two times I got tapped from the side, one time I tapped someone very light in the back. No harm to me ore the other driver. And of course after getting angry about penalties I went of the track :banghead:
Lets say it again: This needs to be fixed!!!!

But anyway was nice to see some GTP members in the race :gtpflag:

Qualified decent today in the manufacturers cup. Didnt start last but in 10th position. 👍 Somehow i managed to get my frontwheel on the grass which unsettled me so i spun before the first corner. Fought my way back up to 9th place a lap down. Got pushed off a couple of times. Everytime i tried to pass someone they tried to ram me off the track.. :grumpy:
Was a lonely race the final laps. 54 Seconds up to 8th and 20 down to 10th. Up to D level and still SR S

What a frustrating race on Brands with the Ferrari. Qualified 4th, lots of jackasses trying to barge in on the opening lap, but only lost a place. Then moved up to 2nd and stayed there for the first half the race until a Porsche got past. The Ferrari is usually good on fuel, but I had to pit on lap 8 while those ahead stayed out. Really threw off my strategy. Got out and I was down to 6th, and then I just lost consistency combined with being stuck with midfield dirty drivers. For some reason it felt like the tires were made of ice the second half. Ended up a really disappointing 12th.

Not the best of nights here. Right before the Toyota race, I had found something in practice that gained me quite a bit of speed. Then came qualifying when, once again, I had one of those sessions where the car was driving far different than I was expecting. Should've been at least half a second faster than the time I set. I was trying to avoid getting a penalty despite being that deep in the back but it didn't happen. I snuck into the Top 10 thanks to some incidents that looked rather rough from my vantage point. Without that penalty, I could've taken advantage of those better.

Brands Hatch, I set a decent time but I'm once again in the midpack. Car suddenly went wide on me on Lap 2 but managed to gather it back without too much of a time loss. I just could not find the consistency that I was looking for and I almost spun when I clipped the apex at Westfield. I think that happened to Tigdney in one of his BOP tests. I can't really explain why the car did that. Post-stop, I went a little wide off the last corner when I saw someone go off. I knew someone was somewhat close behind me so I tried to draft the off car. Once I went past them, I wasn't sure where the other car was since I don't have a rear view. By the time I saw the radar, I saw the arrow and tried to use a defensive line. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the speed differential was huge and there was contact before I could move to provide room. Ended up 8th which I suppose wasn't bad although now I remember why don't like racing at Brands. It's hard for me to be confident there.

FIX YOUR BLEEPING PENALTY SYSTEM

After starting 2nd, spinning twice going down to about 9th both times, I was on for 4th when these two crashed and the penalty system decided nah m8 back down to 11th you go!

rant over

After watching this multiple times i have to ask for what you did get the penalty? XD

 it is really hard to see but the slightest touch on razer (with headphones you might hear it) and looking at your stream I can see he put two wheels on the grass just after and I'm told the game triggers 10s if someone goes off after you hit them. It should be able to tell the difference between punting into the wall and this!

I feel sry for you :(. Some of the top 30 guys at Nürnburgring asked PD if they could have a look and improve their penalty system. According to them the penalty system seems to be very "realistic"...

Another issue is why the hell is that driver going so slowly on the racing line while trying to get rid of a penalty. It's pretty basic etiquette for a slow driver to be off the racing line. Such poor driving ahead of you

Since it's preseason, I was going to stick to the tougher time slots for the practice but I may change that. If being in an alien filled room gives me less points at the end than a different room where I'm closer to the front, that's info I should figure out now.

Enjoy my struggles from yesterday:

Can you change manufacturer next time, with you in the top 10 all the time it’s difficult for me to blame the Mazda for my terrible pace

You are very fast 👍

Haha for the moment I have the best feeling with the Mazda, maybe it will change after next update and probably new BoP ;)

Thanks you anyway 👍

Well he did actually leave me enough room on the right but the cynic in me assumed he wasn't going to and initially went for the inside before switching back. His engine was damaged too so he couldn't really get away from the corner fast. Suppose he could have hugged the inside a bit more though.

Good grief. It's a shame as well because that lobby looked like a cracker.

I don't think the game likes you.

Oh my word.

Yeah I think they need to sort out the balancing of the fuel still

I wouldn't be so worried about the fuel use rates, I ran the Corvette Gr.3 and it really races hard on the longer straights and which I would want if I was also using more fuel.... but there is the thing, I think the fuel needs to match the power outputs better, it feels like they have been so focused on leveling the cars through the two BOP elements that the fuel use rates are not matching up quite enough.

Well as I said in my last post in this topic I missed Saturday's racing due to a weekend away but I'm looking forward to
the rest of the races though I'm going to skip Monza for obvious reasons.

Since the manufactuers race for Wednesday is Mount Panorama I know the Toyota 86 is going to be slow round the speed sections of
the track but probably better in the corners what would you all suggest for my fuel strategy as I suspect I can run late in the race
and splash n'dash or should I play a long game and go early for fuel and try and hold any places I gain when the late stops happen.

The pit strategies are the one part of the game I have yet to get to grips with.

In a car like the 86 dropping the fuel back for the straights will just kill you even more against the big engine guys who will use less fuel up and over the top section (map 3/4) and hit it back to 1 down the two long straights - personally i think I'd just open the tap on 1 and manage it a little through the mid laps to make sure I can fill to the top a make it home on fuel map 1

That car was all over the place, I struggeled so bad with it in qualifying :ouch:

Anyway, here's my replay of the race with @F4H Rosso and @MadMax :gtpflag:

Thanks @simonkhtse for the livery 👍

HA! Wow, I never expected anyone to be using one of my liveries. Glad you liked it!

And that's some awesome skills you got too -- you holding out for 2 more laps before going to the pit paid off it seems.

I will keep that in mind for the race and see how it goes, got some practice in with the 86 last night, I'm not expecting to win the race
but hopefully can get a good finish position.

This might explain some of the weird penalties I've seen and received for that matter. As far as I know its perfectly acceptable to have two wheels off track and on some its the fastest way round.

Now if this is true I'm wondering if people are already gaming this i.e. get a small nudge, so deliberately go a little wider than usual? 1 or 2s vs 10s? I'm guessing I'm not the first person to think of this as a possibility. There must be a way to determine whether or not they were pushed off or they deliberately drove off?

Did some practice in a lancer for the MFG last night with @MadMax. He's a full second faster than me around bathurst in the same car :(

Got some good practice in though, hoping to just get some consistent 2:15s and hope too many people don't pass me on the straights. Best I managed was a 2:15.0 with tire wear, he pulled together a 2:13.9.

For the record, even with a slipstream the Lancer doesn't catch the 86 down the straights lol. For a low power car the toyota is surprisingly quick.

TC1. A few easy places guaranteed at the start (only to be punted off in T1).
I know that. I qualified in P3 and had a TC 1 start only to be punted into the back of P1 because people don't know when to brake + the cars are even more bunched up. 10 second penalty woohoo.
