My take on it is that the field is much more bunched up, so a lot of competitive ping pong can happen. Also since standing starts are rarer used, and especially so at Gr. 3 Monza where it is the first time it's a standing start, the few people who already have established braking points for L1 T1 lose it immediately

And yeah it's just way more chaotic in my experience

In EMEA, is the 6:10 UK Time (first slot) Manu race usually a stronger field than 7:10, or usually slightly less?

Completely agree, rolling starts are a lot less chaotic than standing starts.

I‘ll enter the second to last Nations and final Manu slot, I‘m better off finishing 5th in a „weak“ lobby than 15th in a strong one

Agreed, but annoying really. In some respects I’d be better tanking my DR and hoping I get a good result. Getting a win in DRB you get more points than you get for 10th downwards in the usual majority A+ Filled rooms I’m in!

Had quite a bit of fun at Bathurst. It's a circuit I struggled with for ages but I ended up feeling reasonably happy in the Genesis and did a good qualifying lap. 11th in top lobby.

However a driver during the race had an incident with me and then proceeded to say I 'ruined his race' in the post race chat, and then left before I could discuss it with him like a coward.

Did I do anything wrong here? In my view, I think he just got caught out by me saving fuel so much, and got an unfortunate 10 second penalty, and then he seemed to be so angry at knowing he'd have to slow down, that he then purposely hit me at the next few turns??

Judge for yourself and discuss please.

You were saying? (for context we just had the Nations Cup race and there was all the carnage at T1)

To be honest I was hoping for a bit more death and destruction nearer the front. Probably not the best idea to introduce Monza standing starts in Gr3 Lambos, something a bit slower would be ideal.

He rear-ended you then followed faaaaaarrr too close in that downhill section and finished with a divebomb in Forrest's Elbow. You did nothing wrong.

I've just done the Nation's cup race at Monza, it's totally stupid to have a standing start there, I think almost the entire field picked up some kind of penalty there, once one person misses their braking point it's just pinball.

From 6th place to 19th.
You know what's the worst part? This was possibly the cleanest race i've got and i messed all up. Makes me want quit racing...

Edit: And yeah i'm talking about Monza.
I don't know why i late brake at T1, i don't know why i thought standing next to a car while getting of ghost was a good idea, i don't know why i decide to throttle while steering because of course i'll spin out.
I threw a whole FIA race, was satisfied for getting 6th place on qualifiers clean, haven't seen much of aggressive\dirty driving, game gave me a chance to recover from last place to 10th and even there i threw it by being stupid.

Today's races put us into so many weird situations... Should I risk racing monza and losing SR, thus not being able to race manufacturer's... Unless I could try and recover some DR in... Tokyo Expressway? Nope. GR.2 in a track that people still don't have a lot of experience? Nope. GR.3 in a pseudo-oval track? Nopenopenopenope....

Oh well... May the force be with us

I've got a nice experience in my todays Nation Cup Race @ Monza. Huracan GT3 is a nice car. Somehow, i love it now. But that was not the experience i got.

I joined into a strong lobby (A/A+). Did i mentioned that i like the penalty system? My qualifying was bad, just 15th place. So the race started, directly from the grid. Nice difference to the rolling start. I like it, i want more races in the fia lobbies with standing starts. First chicane, i got a 10 sec penalty, my bad. Sorry for that. Half of the field got a penalty after the first chicane. Thats Monza and we go on. Second lap, first chicane, a little hit from behind, i touch the car at the front and we got another 4 sec penalty. NICE job i think, but thats Monza, the one behind got only a 1 sec penalty.

Go on, Full Speed to the second chicane, brake and a nice drivethru the chicane, but... whats that? Why is my penalty increasing? I didn't cut, whats going on? A bug? My fault? Yes, but i tried something. I didn't go slow. The penalty increases, increases, increases till 60 sec and boooooom, you get disqualified.

After been disqualified, you can't join another nations cup race on this day. Nice experience for me and good to know the max on the penalty system.

I feel like an experiment is in order, is it worth deliberately cutting the first chicane at Monza to get a 5-6 second penalty instead of a 10 second contact penalty?
I can tell you there's somehow a way to cut it and being ghosted without taking penalty. It happened to me for some reason lol

Oh boy that didn‘t went well. Qualified 7th in the Monza race, was 5th after T1 and then got taken out 3 times. Finished 13th, -900DR and 850pts. :( Also -11SR so I guess I won’t be matched with the better players for the Bathurst races to get a few points back :boggled:

Very good qualifying. A perfect 1st run. Then got a stupid penalty, got nervous, and failed the pit entry because of that :(

Unfortunate penalty and pit. I think you could have shifted earlier and changed the fuel mixture through some areas and still had a very similar pace though?

Is it normal for the matching to be off in the last race of the day? I am a mid-level DR-A Driver(ca.38000 DR) and I had 8 A+ drivers in the room with me.

I qualified P7. Some drivers in front had a bad start and we were three wide for T1 with me on the outside. I had nowhere to go and got slightly wide which led to a 13 second short-cut penalty. By the time I served it I was last. From there on it I tried to stay clear of trouble which only partially worked. Spun out once and got another five second penalty for the absolute slightest of touches...

Fortunately a lot of the other players met similar fate. By the end I finished P8 with 3 A+ drivers behind me which still got me a surprising 1075 points. Quite happy with that when taking into cosinderation where I was after T1.

The Atenza is very slow if you shift earlier. I could save more fuel but the pace would have been 2'13"4-8. No chance to win I think in a track like Bathurst with this car so I had to choice another strat. Could work actually !

Can't seem to get a clean race this week

Mclaren is actually a nice drive around Bathurst, but just lacking in a bit of puff.
