@Pfei I am in a very similiar situation and feel your pain, I guees we will know the results in the next few days. As passport is not a legal proof of residency I think you will need to provide a proof of address,but to be honest I am pretty sure PD has no idea what are they doing so...

I'm doubtful they'll ask for any form of proof of residence otherwise they'd have explained what that entails. The interpretation of what proves residence will also differ from country to country.

But apparently you need a passport or I guess some form of ID to attend a final. Though again that might be just to book tickets and such since neither are proof of residence.

9. In order to claim the Gran Turismo™ Championships World Final (as defined in clause 10(a)) element of the Prize (as defined below), each Winner must respond appropriately to the Promoter’s notification email within two (2) weeks from the date of the Promoter’s notification email, and provide their full name, and date of birth. The postal address provided must match any postal address provided at the time of entry, or a Winner may be disqualified.

If the final is held in another country, then yep, a Passport could be handy.

@Tidgney You also forgot to mention that someone could easily give his account data to someone else that is faster to get him through, hence even pay for that... do we need to remind ourselve of SMS-R champ and what a charade that was? The whole situation with sony and their politics about accounts makes me want to puke, not to mention that I have to drive on the team account of which I am not a member anymore.

iRacing has sorted that straight away.

I was going to mention this as I know this happened in GT Academy (I was only involved with SMS-R in the last year so didn't hear much prior) but I can't see this happening as much in this as it's to reliant on lobbys and luck and an absurd amount of time required to get someone else through as well as yourself.

There are multiple posts with player´s name being typed, in a "name and shame" manner. Thats why I ask moderator.
And when I named and shamed player a while ago, I didnt put "@" infront if that could be the reason.

I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to show.

To clarify I'm not suggesting anyone break the rules.

I'm no lawyer but I'm sure if they had doubts about someones residence at a very late stage in the game and if certain players were to complain the entry wording would allow them to disqualify that player. Though I have no doubt they'd give effected players a chance to offer up some proof before disqualification.

Not much really, but it mentions providing a "postal address" when responding to the email, which is what I thought you were questioning.

Before I signed up for the championships I had to verify my information to represent the region I was closest to.

I live in the U.S.A so I had to verify country of course, then I had to verify the State I am a resident of and then pick the city or listed county from a drop down list they provided that I lived the closest to.

I would guess if I won the contest I would have to provide proof that the information I provided at that sign up point was in fact correct and my legal postal address verified the information I had previously provided was correct.

I would guess if the information did not match up you would be disqualified as that initial information actually placed you to compete in a certian region and if you lived in a different region then you competed under false pretenses as to location.

He wasn't talking about the rules themselves; but rather the perception of the people with dual citizenship on their situation as if they're at a disadvantage

It must be your perception. Nor I nor anyone else in our situation has even hinted that we are at some kind of disadvantage. GTS loads up and plays the same for me as it does for everyone else. I haven't seen any evidence that IP address, PSN account country nor physical IDs and documents affects the car's behavior in-game in any way.

It's not really about in-game behavior etc. etc., but rather how they will be picked if they were to be eligible at the Live Events.
Don't ask me why they're asking that

Getting upset about it as if someone just stole your last jelly bean, doesn't mean I'm claiming that someone actually stole your last jelly bean.
ie. confused as if it's some sort of disadvantage doesn't mean I'm claiming someone stated it was a disadvantage.

In the past I assume Ti-tech and his brother (Not sure if that needs to be plural) were all in the same house (Could be wrong), how do they know which account (All of them were) would be the legit account. It's a hard one..

Well, I think they'll check IP or even MAC adresses to see if several accounts come from the same place / system, also they might check similar looking names and then check IP. Then, if there's a match, check the infos provided and if it's different, ask for a proof (such as a copy of ID card or passport). Although for a case like this, the three brothers are known by PoDi (and for sure on GT5 they weren't living under the same roof but that doesn't voids your point).

I think the end result of multiple accounts users will mostly be a matter of who will enforce the regulations (PoDi, Sony, FIA). I can see PoDi being a bit more relaxed about it than the laters.

This was a great battle we had yesterday and this was my highlight as well after having such a bad luck during the Qualifying. Thanks for that @Giorgio_57! And thx for the other battle we had yesterday @ZokyCRO and @Fuvaros!
 
Yeah best race of the season for me as well for low points though, but I just couldn't catch enough power in slipstream for any duels, which suprised me. Also made an epic last corner fail on qualy, had a pass of - 0.093 on last sector time, checked later on the stream.
 
I don't understand how it's possible to proclaim that being a dual-citizen makes you drive faster:lol:

I'm seriously stuck on my display name though. I think I want to stick with my old ID but I wasn't really expecting the option so now I'm not so sure...

The people using multiple accounts in the same championship are giving themselves multiple chances at getting S rank and later multiple chances of qualifying. One of those accounts shouldn't be there regardless of eligibility, so if it's involved in say, punting people off then it's changing results it shouldn't have. In fact it's changing results even by just being there.

The people using multiple accounts (1 in manufacturers and 1 in nations) are probably trying to get S rank on two accounts so they have a choice between manufacturers later while others do not.

In both cases they may become eligible.

Yes same rules for everyone. I know of another guy who I think was at the N24 doing it too.

Yay, Honda moved up. I feel I've played my part to boost "us" a few spots. 10th, would be a 1st, in my eyes.
 
I just did the star player registration. I wonder what happens if my driver rating falls below 50,000? Will it drop from s and allow me to regain it during this season? I'm at 51,620 right now

Didn't know this option. Had to get out of bed and turn on the PS4 to register myself (which made me VERRRYYYYY tired)

I'm guessing if you are A+ and don't get an S rank you have 2 options

You are either

  • Just can't be arsed with it
  • Or you are just 🤬.
