Had one of the worst races I’ve had in awhile last night at Sarthe. Qualified poorly but I expected that since I didn’t practice much. Started P16.

Lap 1 T1, got a great start but was lightly tapped into somebody, 4s penalty for me. Guy that tapped me pushed two people nearly off track immediately after tapping me.

Lap 2, same guy pushes me into another guy at Arnage and I get 8s. He continues driving, I retaliate a little but he didn’t die. He clearly got caught out by his hybrid and my lack of, which is a common issue at Arnage. He later claims he didn’t touch me and the guy I punted posts the replay saying “Winnie847 is dirt” yet his replay looks exactly like mine and you can clearly see the punter’s car push mine, his car slows down, mine speeds up...all before he even hits the brakes. His inputs tell the story.

Final lap, another guy loses control and spins in front of me, I tap him, another 6s penalty.

Somehow still managed P11 but I know I could’ve had a top 5 if it weren’t for all the incidents.

I know none of it was intentional, but the double-punter laid into me after the race and insisted he didn’t touch me, while admitting that the clip I showed him showed contact. He stayed pissed anyway and maintained his position that I was to blame and he also maintained that position with the guy he caused me to punt, even though both our replays show it. I hate when people can’t resolve their issues like adults and move on.

here is the race and videos of the T1 and Arnage incidents. Feel free to let me know what you think.

Bit of a joke format in the manufacturers, tbh. Running this circuit wasn't bad in the dailies because it gave a couple of unloved Gr3 cars their day in the sun. This was just an unbalanced mess, rewarding only a handful of people fortunate enough to make a nearsighted car choice.

...

Managed to get a 7th for 120-odd points in like my 4th attempt so not all bad. I'd like to take the time to shame anyone I beat using a SLS, Vantage, Lexus, Sirocco or Jag with the bloody M4.
I'm not planning to do the race, but I enjoyed time trialling 7 different cars in a custom race. The Lambo, Aston, Jag and McLaren were all quite close to each other. The AMG and Porsche were both good but a few seconds slower over the race. The Dodge was the slowest of the 7 I tried, distinctly off the pace of even the AMG and Porsche. It all changes in the actual race, though, as the McLaren's power is declining rapidly towards the end of the straight, so it doesn't do well if it slipstreams to a high speed then pulls out to overtake. The AMG, OTOH, is a slipstream beast, and possibly a better car for the race than the McLaren, despite being slower for a solo TT. I've seen the Lexus do well in practice lobbies, but didn't test it. So overall, I'd say there are quite a lot of cars that will be able to hang in the slipstream train for this one.

My Alfa 4C would like a word about this claim

*Laughs in Gr.4 Lancer

I don't think I'll race tonight. I did some practice last night and I was just so bored of the track I did not want to keep driving. I am horribly off the pace. I was consistently getting 2:11s with tire wear on and best I got up to was a mid 2:09. I don't think this will be good enough to even have a shot at the top 10 in a race so what's the point then? I'll do some warm up when I get home from work to see if I'm into it and can get my pace up but it's looking doubtful.

Skipping the race tonight. The track is just boring and a slipstream race is not my idea of fun. See everyone on Sunday. Looking forward to getting to Catalunya and every race after that.

Edit: skipping Blue Moon as well.

At home for a change and in time for 4pm race. Got caught out by shorter qualifying and now starting 20th. Goodbye DR

Edit: Just got disconnected after climbing up to 12th after first lap chaos :banghead::banghead::banghead:

8s of penalties in total in that race, all from being hit into the wall, with 6.5s of that coming in three corners about halfway into the race.

All from the same guy in an SLS who finished one place behind me anyway. Good going, asshat.

Don't even bring qualifying up. Fighting for position throughout qualifying and ruining both your laps, rather than backing off to leave a gap and get a good clean run, is so hot right now.

Question since you seem to be a semi pro or pro.

When racing say for example today.
You start P2 get FL & nearly win but due to P1 driving like a drunk in the last corner and last straight you keep P2.
Not hit any car but I did hit the wall once giving me my deserved 1.5sec.
You get 15 points would you go again to get more points or just leave it at that?
I ask because I still can't see why I get low points for P2 & loose points like I did in the pictures I shown before.
I still don't fully grip the points system, and can't find a good explanation of how it works.

To me it's feels like if start from p20 get to p10 it better in points, the ones that put in time & get in the top 5 & keep it clean & either keep position or go up a position is punished because you are better and get low points.

I am sure I saw a list of points from P1 to P20 but can't find it now.

You have to add the @ before someone’s name in order for them to get the tag notification, @Famine :)

As for the points, if you click on this option pre race, it shows you the available points per finishing position in the race. To gain more points, or have more available in races, you’d have to raise your DR to get into higher DR rooms. :)

Thank for all information.
Do you think it worth keep trying or just have 1 good race if you get in the top 5?

The points system comes from the total DR score of everyone who enters the race, divided by the number of people who start the race. First place gets about that number of points divided by about 215, and everyone else gets proportionally less.

You got 15pt for second because your driver rating and that of everyone else in the lobby is D and thus (because everyone's also S rank SR) a maximum of 4,999. In fact it looks like the mean driver rating (everyone's DR score added up, divided by the number of people) in your lobby is about 3,500. 3,500/215 is about 16pt for first place.

Wasn't going to run any of the FIA races today becuase it just seemed like unnecessary frustration to even try. But then I did anyway.
Qualified first which gave me a little hope of being able to do a clean race despite falling from SR 99 to 60's in only two races in Race B yesterday.

I'll give you the first three laps. I don't have words.

The end result is Italian guy has a blue B and I'm red. He slammed me down to 15th just a lap later so I had to drive my self back from there and he finishes 2nd. I really tried not to do anything back even once. This system just make depressed.

So if I got 7th in one race and 5pts then 2nd in the next race and got 9pts. In a blink an eye my 9pts dropped to 8pts, Like what happened to me yesterday and many other times.
Is that normal to drop points during your celebration?:banghead:

Lol helllpppp lol

Probably a rounding error, or someone with a higher DR quit or disconnected.

First I turn 7th into 10th by spinning out just before the finish line last night, and now I've finished fighting with the Renault croissant in a knife fight. I should have stuck to hunting collectibles in NFS Heat for the past two nights.

Qualified 5th. Finished 15th. The race went the way the numbers suggest.

Mercifully, my SR has gone from 88 to 96, so I should be in something less appalling in the final slot. Hopefully I survive turn one this time.

With all due respect, I don't think championship points should be your primary concern, I would focus on raising your DR so you have more points available. Since you finished P2 I reckon you are pretty quick for the lobby you are in and this combo may be strong for you. If your comfortable with your consistency and think you can at least finish in the top half of the table then I would race this one as much as possible tonight to get your DR higher. The same can be said for knowing when to quit. If you don't have the pace or struggle at a combo and don't seeing yourself getting in the top 10 it's best to just leave it or you will only end up hurting your DR and points available to you.

I've race three of the four slots this evening, and they have all been absolute cock at SR99.

Even seen a return of the "weave the other guys into the wall down the final straight so as not to lose one position" technique. I've twice had 4s penalties in two separate races for being smashed into, hitting the wall and then being smashed into again by the same car, but I didn't see a single penalty for the guy that steamed into T1 at +40mph on lap 4 and hit so many cars that I ended up being spun from 6th to actual 20th.

Absolutely seething.

Qualified 9th with a low 2.07 which I was pleased with. From therein, utter carnage. After a few heated but ok laps, it seems a number of drivers couldnt be arsed with courtesy. I was pushed into various barriers for 3-4 laps in a row, with people forcing the inside line and pushing me wide, every time having 2-3 cars overtake. I lost my cool slightly and managed to get myself a 14 second(!) penalty for a minor incident half way through, putting me back to 17th. Spent the rest of the race changing positions with one guy. Finished with just over 100 points when pace wise it should have been at least 200.

Wish I hadn't bothered.

Believe it or not I was close to B but the last set of races I got hit/ram down in the deep and lost enough points to drop back to D
Either way I do agree with what you're saying.

There aren't any non-appalling lobbies for this race, even top split 99 SR is awful. It's just the nature of the race.

First corner was interesting. 6th hit me into 4th who I hit into the wall. 6th got 5 seconds, 4th got 7.

Then when you're down the field it's a track that's impossible to overtake on, filled with people who don't know how to race anywhere never mind here. This track was better when the penalty line was at the start of the straight rather than just before the last corner. You don't ram people who're unghosting and people with penalties actually get a meaningful punishment.

@Pigems
I just noticed in the picture you should me for location of points table is only available when you in the race..:lol::lol:
I been searching everything outside off the race thinking it would make sense being there but I was wrong ..
