Apologies for double-posting but there's too much media for me to merge them.

Nations North America

Slot 1

I chose the Toyota again for this one (Door 3), which I put into P4 and only missing out on at least P2 due to one poor corner. I was cautious this time, gaining and losing a place on the way to the hairpin, but, on the way down from it, I was punted off by the P8 RCZ, sending us both onto the grass, but with me facing the wrong way as he continued unpenalised in P14. I meanwhile rejoined dead last, P19.

I'd got back up to P6 by Lap 5 and was finally on the tail of the P5 Subaru on Lap 10. He took a turn way too tight in order to cut me off from passing on the inside, which actually allowed me through after the contact. He'd been cutting most corners pretty tight but that one was for only one reason. He took the next one even tighter, for a 0.5s penalty and then simply smashed into my left rear corner by cutting the following corner. No further penalty to him but I was P7 to his P5 after digging myself out of the gravel. His excuse afterwards? He'd locked up!

That same car moved over late to block the RCZ in front of us just before deghosting from his corner-cutting penalty and Karma had its say:

Lap 12 was then nip and tuck between me and the RCZ I'd been behind, but I passed for P5 and P4 the following lap. I held that until the final lap when the RCZ hit my rear right at the second timing line, cut the corner, then forced me onto the grass on the left (for no penalty), dropping me to P5 by the time I could get back on the track. This guy's 'excuse' was I was "defending too aggressively".

55 points and a smashed-up car for my troubles.

I'd had enough by that point and decided to call it a day. I reckoned things could only get worse as the night wore on.

On my 4th attempt, I finally finished a Nations race without being involved in major carnage. Got bump-passed early, but that could’ve been due to my spotty connection. Had to fight for position almost the entire race after that, which was a lot of fun and pretty intense. This was by far the cleanest and most respectful race I was involved in today despite being pushed wide once.

Battle for 10th & 11th the whole daggone race. Close racing. Got a love tap once, from an AMG GT. Other than that, pretty much clean racing.

No real strategy. Just stay on the road. Or maybe, latch onto someone that has a bit of pace to secure a gap from cars behind. Just in case you have a few hairy moments.

Edit: Doing another one. I like racing in the rain.

Edit2: Was having a clean battle with an RS01. THEN, this "divebomber" player in a 458, gets involved. I knew I had to get out of there. Sure enough, a 4-wide quadruel to T2: AMG, RS01, Me, 458. The 458 late brakes itself into the stands, Im on the inside, the AMG somehow got ahead of the RS01, but is turning in shallow and side contacts me. It goes left and I make it out alive. Edit: In the replay, I was slowing and got a bit of kerb. As the AMG is turning close to the apex from out wide, that's how we made contact. Well, them's GT physics...

Head down and I check out. Finished 7 seconds ahead of that crew. 144pts beats my 142pts, from my win in the first round.

Felt confident coming into this as car felt good in practice. Wasn’t expecting to stick it at the front though! :)

knew if I could get round 1st corner without being hit from behind I’d stand a good chance of staying in 1st rest of the race. Got round it, looked behind and saw 2nd place spin out, putting the gas done too fast. Pulled out a 4 second gap by end of 1st lap and that was it. No mistakes and brought it home nearly 15 seconds ahead!

Finally got a good result after first 2 round shockers!

Edit: will add i used Full Wets for qualifying and the race.

First ever drive for me with these Gr. B beasts. I couldnt find the pace id like but the race was amazing. Started 2nd and had a race long battle for first. With a bit of fuel saving and managing of understeer i got 1st at lap 8 and tried to defend from ther on till the end.

A huge thank you to the Spaniard in second, with whom i had a great and respectful battle.

Yesterday's rally carnage at Brands was merely about SR recovery for me.

In my last post, I mentioned I got punted and took bs penalties all the way to 60s SR (DR also took a massive hit). I just really needed a break from GT (and don't have a working wheel with me right now).

Jumped in to a B-C SR slot and it was just eye opening. I had no intention of racing anyone, so I just kept to my own and tried my best (to no avail) to avoid punts and get green SRs every sector.

Turn 1 was already carnage and I was taken out from P2 and the race only calmed down a bit when I finally found a gap to race by myself. Did a no-stop, just because I was really taking it slow, just focused on not messing with anybody and not being messed with.

Ended up in 6th (I think) and bumped my SR back from 64 to 91.

DR is still suffering from the hit, but at least I can look forward to some clean(er) races in the near future.

I see @OutlawQuadrnt saying to skip Austria in the GT-R. It's not just me, is it? The car really is rubbish here, isn't it?
Personally, it's quite fun to drive the GT-R on the rain. It's like riding a bull. I almost want it to be a one-make combo in a WT.

But yes, one of the worst Gr3 to have here. This combo I have done in the past and I finished well in the back.

Couldn't get a clean lap in quali to save my life so started 20th. Went on to finish 12th. 100% of my "overtakes" were due to cars spinning off as the below nicely demonstrates. I lost a couple of those positions but got them back later on using the exact same overtaking method. Don't think I'll do that one again. Once was okay but it's too stressful  Starting last actually made things a lot easier!

After one attempt at today's wet RBR manu race, I give up. I'm fed up with playing a game that has rules that you're supposed to follow, but which the game doesn't enforce, and hence a huge proportion of drivers at A+ level don't follow them. I'll stick to Age of Empires II Definitive Edition where you're allowed to do anything the game lets you do. I'll probably change my mind in the future, but for now it just feels like a complete waste of time trying to race in GTS. I came to GTS from FH4 in search of cleaner racing, but it's honestly not much different now.

Manufacturers Round 3
They're really pulling out all the unpleasant combinations at the moment, good grief.

My first ever wet race, and not one I want to remember or repeat. I was so scared of hitting people in qualifying that I put in a very poor time and started at the back of the grid in P16. (Yes, four people quit before the race even began...)

A series of incidents and errors from drivers ahead let me work my way up to P7 by lap 3, but I struggled to hold the position and made a mistake going into the hairpin at the top of the hill on lap 5. I was side-by-side with a Lexus on my inside and started fishtailing so I drove off to avoid causing an incident. That dropped me down a few positions.

Note to self: don't leave the brake balance rearward in wet conditions!

Things got worse at the start of lap 6 when a Beetle started severely fishtailing after turn 1, and I got taken out by it. He then gave me a bit of a headache for several laps as he was extremely aggressive, bashing me around when I was leaving space then frequently losing control through turns.

I ended up P14.

This race had a very strange bug as well. The polesitter (a Honda) fell back through the grid after a few laps. I didn't see what happened so I assumed there had been an incident that took him out.

He started slowly crawling around the track so I got the impression he had given up, with him eventually parking up at the wall behind the final turn and being repeatedly lapped.

Then shortly after the race leader finished, the Honda jumped up to P2! Has anyone ever seen anything like that before?

Yep, I have no intention on doing any online races (except for GTP lobbies, etc) for the foreseeable future.

Because of the current (and previous) penalty systems, racing standards have been so poor, the last few races have just been silly.

Anyone mad enough to run Jaguar here? Really struggling for pace, currently at 1:40.653 best
Also is there any pit strategy that should be used?

Nobody pitted in my race. The tyre wear is so low that you'll still have fairly fresh tyres at the very end.

Fair enough, what brake balance are you running? Currently at -2 but no idea if that's impeding me or not after I've driven a good few laps with it

I forgot to change my brake balance so probably not the best person to ask.

I had mine set to 3 for the first half of the race as that got me fairly equal wear in the Viper at Lago Maggiore. I changed to 0 when I realised what I had done. Setting it further forward may not be a bad idea, but I couldn't tell you how that ends up playing out.

Brake balance to the front and TC2 - should be ok to have a decent race, without too many scares...

Did not get good results yet(2 tries, 10th and 7th) - but I will race again just to improve my DR. I need at least a top5 to equal my points so nothing to lose as long as I finish in top10.

I'm usually one to never use TC, but might just try it at 1 for the sake of consistency

Slot 1:

Wasn't sure I should risk this one as I dropped to B/A yesterday with 78 SR points and racing in the rain is usually carnage. Plus, I wasn't sure how stable the Alfa would be in these conditions. But...

Qually would have been ok if the Spanish driver of a Porsche hadn't tried and failed 3 times to pass me on the inside of corners, overshooting and forcing me to back off to avoid contact. He completely messed things up for me instead of exercising 'social distancing' on the out lap.

Onto the race, and I started my Door 15 Alfa in P11. Intermediates were fine, absolutely no need for wets, let alone a pit stop. I started with TC5 and dropped it to TC 3 as my confidence grew.
Oh joy, the Spanish Porsche from Qually was immediately in front (P9). Then I got the weakest penalty yet since the update. This 'incident' cost me an Orange SR flag!!! Plainly, neither of us did anything to warrant it. If he (the Spanish BMW) got any SR loss, he'd be as right to be aggrieved:

But I was up to P7. Attmpting a pass on the P5 French Subaru who had gone wide left to defend from P6, he turned in sharp and we just touched, but I eased off to let him keep the place. As I acelerated out of the corner and got the jump on him, he turned in on me 4 times (check his steering input in the 'Incidents' video below) but I stayed ahead. I took the next corner extremely wide to give him maximum space but he didn't show any signs of trying to take the corner tight enough to avoid me and he pushed me into the gravel, dropping me 11 places to P16. 🤬

I made it up to P10 by the start of Lap 4. I surrendered P9 to the Spanish Porsche on Lap 5 as I didn't want to risk things going south as there was some contact going on. And sure enough, he spun the German Mercedes in font of me! Lap 7, and I was P8 behind the Porsche. Then, on Lap 9, he binned it into the gravel and I was in front. But unfortunately, the doorbell had rung just before he did that and I had to hit Pause!!!:boggled: Fortunately the current situation meant I didn't have to sign for my parcel and I was back behind the wheel before i got a penalty or DQ! But I resumed just in time to get bump-passed by the Porsche.:indiff: After showing him how to do an inside pass at Turn 1 without contact or overshooting, he did manage to regain the place but he tried to drift slightly in front of me before the right-hander and the tap he got made him mess up the corner - into the gravel. Oh well, Karma said Hi! (See incidents video).

From then on it was a lonely race until Lap 12/13 when I came upon the Turkish BMW which had started ahead of me. He had just spun after taking to the grass before the final corner and so I passed him easily before he deghosted, into P6. He got back in front on the final lap but started weaving slightly and ineveitably I tagged him at Turn 3 which sent him into the gravel. In dry conditions he might have got away with it, but it wasn't wise in the wet (let alone sporting in any conditions).

And that's how it finished. P6 for 55 points. Back to SR 89 and B/S.

No way was I going to risk later races as I expected a slew of stupid moves as the night went on.

Lost all faith in humanity after this combo lmao, got punted from 2nd to 7th to 13th and all the way down to last until I DC'd. Seems like SR S doesn't really exist lol.
I think that instead of the overly harsh penalty system, they now went with an overly lenient one. Just hope it gets balanced with time
