Was dreading this race as I normally hate Autopolis! Turned out to be one of my favourite races yet on this game.

I was expecting to qualify low down but got 8th which was a nice surprise. 2 cars spun off on corner 1 and then the rest of the race was pretty much bumper to bumper. Front 6 cars pulled out a gap. I moved into 5th after car in front made a mistake and dropped out the pack. With 4 laps to go the leader spun off leaving the 4 of us out alone. Couldn’t quite get 3rd having to pull out of a move on the final right hander when alongside him.

Really wasn't looking forward to this race as the Jag really hates any sort of corners, ended up with a 1:46.49 practice, wasn't the best of runs though.
Split 1, had a bad quali lap, placed 12th. Race conditions were different to practice, so ran wide at T1 along with a few other cars. Ended up in the mid-low pack, with the punters. Was in 19th after L1, got back up into 8th mid race only to get rammed twice. Ended up 12th, uneventful race. Dropped a bit of DR as I was the #10 car.
Split 2 was a bit kinder to me, placing me in a bit of a "tougher" lobby (#19 car). Quicker Quali this time, but still came 12th. Kept my wits about me through T1, went up a couple of positions. Finished L1 in 8th, big battle up ahead. Took a very tight line into T6 as the cars up ahead compromised each other, climbed up to 6th. Caught the Merc up ahead next lap, but slipstream and the Jag's power made sure that I was ahead by T1. Merc made a few mistakes in the next few laps and dropped off to around 5-6 seconds away. Porsche ahead of me maintained a good 1 second gap, until they out-braked themselves into T1, giving me an easy P4. Jumped up around 1500 DR, around 8 seconds off the lead. Pretty happy with this for a first proper FIA attempt.

I'm in the big ol' SLS for this. I've got a 46.3 in practice, which I'm happy enough with. I love the track, just not sure the car agrees!

Will be live here, likely while nattering about old FIA GT races:

Short answer:
You ended up in this room as your SR wasn't high enough.

Long answer:
Matchmaking sorts by SR first, then by DR.

My understanding is that the top SR split is for drivers with an SR score of 90-99. The next split includes drivers with an SR score of 89 or less.

The issue is that the game only says you are 'SR S', which includes all scores of 80 and above. So you can't tell which SR split you would end up in, if you didn't look at a site like KudosPrime.

In your case (looking at your K' profile), you had an SR score under 89 at the time you were matched, so that is why you ended up in this race.
Probably from Fuji after I did the Nations race the evening before. I didn't do a Daily Race until after the Manu race.

:banghead: My Reaction to Autopolis on Racing Hard Tyres with No Fuel Stops....

Urgh wasn't looking forward to this one. Keep getting no Higher than 6th as I keep getting Punted out by the Top 3. Beyond frustrating. One User I called out blamed his late lunge dive punt on the hairpin a "Glitch" Give over you melt!

Reset & try again for the last two races. Fingers crossed.

It's why I hate getting used to the Racing Soft's/Mediums because people forget how to Race on Hard tyres.

does anyone else have the same issues as last Sunday? Just came home from my shift at work, turned the PS on, entered the FIA race and again disconnected from network when players were matched. so frustrating!!!!! done with it....

Had one shot at the Manufacturers race last night. Qualified in 8th with no slip which i thought was good.

After the first lap I was 14th due to a bunch of gooses that feel pushing up the inside is an acceptable move. Evidently too many corners on this track where you can just push up the inside.

Anyway made my way back up to 6th as a bunch of other guys were getting pushed wide too.

Then the punt at turn one. I knew it was coming as the guy behind hit me in each braking zone on the preceding lap. I was braking early due to slip and trying to save my tyres. He wasn’t allowing for slip stream.

Anyway T1.....off I go. Ended up 14th. The dude that punted me apologised, so fair play. But damn guys, let the race settle for a bit and practice a race so you can practice braking in slipstream. It’s sort of important.

Bring on the update so the slipstream isn’t as strong. A lot of dudes are going to find out they aren’t quick enough suddenly.

Couldn't believe It.
Managed to Pull off the Triple Star tonight which I certainly wasn't expecting. :gtpflag:

Pole, Win & Fastest Lap & Clean Race bonus! Couldn't believe the payout of 350,000 Credits  Finally hooked up a reasonable Qualifying certainly wasn't my fastest of the Night but was fast enough for this Race. Led from Turn 1 & Cruised to Victory. Now I don't have to do the last race and can relax! Back on It again on for this weekend!

13th at Manu, 13th at nations, two of my least favorite tracks, God I m so bad at autopolis (started last!!!)
Funny that my only podium ever at FIA was my very first nation's race at monza when I was a Dr d. Arghhhh

Had a bad time in manufacturers last night, it was trash, no strategy and the 650s on hards at autopolis is disturbingly slippy. Just couldn't do it. wiped 7k off my DR in my attempts last night got up to first in my last one and then got punted across the first corner on the 10th lap.

Christ Almighty, I would really like to post a race report as this is one of my better tracks but I've been caught up in a demolition derby all night. The second race a guy even admitted to intentionally punting me "to see how I liked it." (We banged when he went inside of me on long left-hander before the downhill hairpin. Either the Jag is way more stable than the BMW or he just let go of the controls when contact occured. Either way, he ended up in the grass losing several seconds. Apparently that justifies lining me up for a massive punt to the shadow realm losing almost 30 sec.)

If I've learned anything since quarantine began it's that I'm some sort of masochist when it comes to these things and the middle schoolers really need to go back to school.

Knock knock. Anyone home? What the heck? And I ain't quitting to do a later race. :banghead:

Scratch that. Someone else left the room.

Edit: Just makes no dang s ne. May as well just had me race alone or me versus the S/S player(R.S01) that finished second and the B/S player(RSR), that finished first.

My SR was 80 after getting rekt in nations the night before so I only did this race to try to get back up to 90+.
My Renault was no match for the 911 and my SR only got up to 89 probably because I got punted in qualy on the outlap so I had to do another race and by then I couldn't be bothered doing a 3rd race.
I know you said you just turn up but if you want to be matched in the correct room you at least need to look at your SR.

Well, it took four races, a lot of damage to my DR and hours of frustration with collision intent drivers but I finally got a finish I can live with. The points were crap and doesn't affect my standing in any way but that's not the point. I needed to put in a race I could be somewhat proud of after dealing with multiple ***hats all day.

I was again on the verge of dropping to DR.C and raced in a mixed lobby. I qualified okay, not great but got P4. I was anywhere from P2-P4 throughout the race and did some clean, close quartered driving with a few people. I finally finished in P4 - the Jag in P2 was really good at defending and the McLaren in P3 was just flat out faster than me. I'm fine with that. Maybe I could've raced a few second faster but I'm happy with the clean racing and about as fast as a time as I could post with fingers that were starting to cramp after too many races in one day.

I needed 7th or better to net a series best points haul. I got 8th. Really need to work on my qualifying, I can lap a track over and over and whittle down the times, but when I've only got one or two real cracks at it, that's where I struggle.

Yeah. The Nations race, I was matched with other A/S players. I posted I probably dropped, due to the Daily Race at Fuji I did afterward.

I flat out don't like Autopolis so little effort given. Q was tragic but I otherwise had Top 5 pace.

Glad this stage doesn't count for anything because the results have been brutal. Worst combos possible for the Nissan, 4~6 meta cars in every single slot along with the usual top guys and always losing out on the slipstream q lottery.

Really really regret picking Nissan! Had a great 2nd place in the first round. Second round was a disaster and haven't even bothered with the races after that as i've been so far off the pace in practice for them. Praying Monza is finally a track its suited to!

As far as I've seen Monza seems to be better suited to the power cars like the FR cars than Autopolis was. Hopefully it's much more balanced this time

Solid connection (EMEA) last night on my 3 races.

Race 1 qualified P5, made a complete fool of myself T1 becoming my own statistic. Luckily not too catastrophic for the 2 other drivers involved, but still dumb.
Race 2 qualified P3, the guy in pole messed up T1, so very promising keeping up with the lead... And I went off track a few corners later. Both races I ended up around 10th.

The highlight was race 3. I qualified P6 and had a 10 lap battle with 3 other drivers. After 2 or 3 laps we got into a rhythm where we could get closer and closer, getting slingshots in the last right hander to get better and better launches on the straight. Super close into T1 but always under control, great stuff. It's so rare to have that level of trust, where you can confidently stay on the racing line in braking zones knowing that no lunge is coming on the inside... Especially with GT3 on RH.
It might seem boring from the outside since there was a grand total of 0 moves between us, but I'm sure you know what I mean! Unfortunately that got ruined for me a bit later by another guy (who apologized so we're cool), but still a good race overall finishing 11th.

Here's one of those laps if you want to have a look. In which case hope you'll enjoy my bling R8 livery :D

Oh how my fortunes have been an absolute roller coaster. (Hi everyone!) so to recap (from idk when the last time I posted)

Goodwood - Qualified like poop in 10th but I made it back up to the top 5 and almost nabbed 4th
Willow springs - I had 2 races absolutely ruined by over aggressive idiots. Stayed up until 11:20PM EST for the last one and qualified 17th because of those fuel sapping idiots clogging the track. I was so fed up I decided to pit straight away to see what would happen, drive through (penalty). I rage quit
Nurburging - Attempt 1 - Got crashed into and I got a penalty -__- then I clipped the grass on braking for the chicane and clobbered someone they (understandably in the heat of the moment) rammed me as retaliation. I just *_@&#@()%&$_&%
Attempt 2 - Got like 8th or 9th but I was holding onto my S rating by a hair, and not a long strand from a pretty girl. More like a tiny stub when you just shaved your face type of length

Which leads me to last night. I'll be honest I was done with Porsche and couldn't be bothered as I'm not that great on the full course (short course I'm really good but not the long one). However I do race on RH a lot and with the 911 RSR being easy on the tires what the heck. Qualified 4th....ok. L1 T1 3rd place taps 2nd place off to the gravel promoting both of us.......ok better. Then I passed 2nd place......ok see where this goes. Leader is like 4 seconds up the road but w.e. I just followed my marks and eventually caught up to the leader. I just sat back for awhile waited for him to make a mistake and it happened with 4 to go (I think) and took the lead. I never looked back and not only did I finally win one of these dumb races (in awhile) 250+ points -fangirl screaming!- I'm sorry Porsche. I was crude to you lately but you came through. I'm taking a break this weekend because The Tokyo circuits are not my thing and Monza I heard is just a glorified SR/DR Reset. No thanks!
