Joining the 19:40 race. Don't care what happens in this unofficial race. This will probably be my last for the evening. Daily Race B is out of control...

Go RM for the first stint

Edit: 16th again.

Was running in the top 10 for a couple laps. Then, was trying to be a nice guy behind a 4C, but it was just too slow. If you're going thatv slow, please move over. Two cars got by both of us, because I was not forcing anything. Cars started to catch up to me and I had enough. Forced a pass into the second chicane. Was clean, but I took the inside.

Changed tyres and added just about 2 laps of fuel. Then, the penalties start. Watched a 7.5 second gap in 13th just dwindle down.

Tokyo was a bit of a wash out (pun intended). Started 6th and ran intermediates, gained a few places but had people ramming me and trying to push out my rear the whole race. Ended up 7th after a few altercations, and my SR took a hammering. Managed to get that back up this morning at Fuji before the Manufacturers round.

Managed to qualify 3rd for Monza, despite the efforts of some to ram me off the track. A yellow Nissan GT-R rammed me off at the entrance to the second chicane, only to have me spear over the turn and ram into them on the exit, ruining their manoeuvre. Given this incident and some of the racing that's been on display in the daily races, and the Tokyo round of the Nations Cup, I was apprehensive heading into Turn 1. Fortunately I managed to get through the chicane unscathed, with the usual Turn 1 shenanigans affecting those further back in the field. Which left us in the top 3 quite a way ahead, with the grid not catching up with me until I pitted for Hards on Lap 6.

I emerged from the pits right behind the cretin who had ruined my qualifying lap earlier, and nudged them out of the way at the same spot they had sent me off. With the leaders pitting I was back in 3rd, and a penalty on the car ahead put me in 2nd. I pitted for fuel and some soft tires on Lap 10, but 2nd was as high as I could go, some 12 seconds ahead of 3rd, but still 10 seconds off 1st place.

What top speed are you guys hitting on Monza? My max in free practice with the 86 is 247 km/h (153 mph)

doing about 235 kms with the Megane. Can not find more speed so it is going to be a hard race!? that is, if there is a decent connection, unlike the last three races....

Did the 21:00 slot Manufacturers at Monza in low split, qualified P5 on hards and started on same in Mustang. Got a ricochet punt at T1, cars behind me were good but someone about five or six Places back punted another car into me and dropped me to about 11th.

By T3 I was up to P9, by T1 on L2 back to P5. Ran 7 laps on that set, up to P3, back at P4 on mediums coming out of the pits. 3 laps on those, pit for soft to finish, come out P5. Up to P4 at the final turn and took P2 on the results board for 32 points thanks to P1 and P3 failing to run mediums at any point.

Got fastest lap with somewhere around 1:59 ish. Every single driver had a penalty, most would be track limits. All three chicanes have really tight track limits, keep at least one wheel road side of the white lines on the chicanes.

1:22 he runs through me at the fast chicane and ploughs me into the wall. How I escaped a 1.5 second wall collision penalty I don't know.

1:57 a heavy right thumb leads to a chain of cock ups on my behalf :dunce:

4:18 In the words of Sebastian Vettel "I don't think I need to say anything here"

And 00:00, you give him what he might reasonably interpret as a divebomb into the final hairpin...

It depends on the gap, but maybe a two stop strategy with a final run of soft could work, in practice lobby I was gaining 2 sec per lap

I don’t mind the no racing S-FR because it’s got a cockpit view but I’m not sure it’s the car for the job?

I’m not sure if it will be the best car or not, it’s not half bad though. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an open N100 race before, I have no idea what will be the best car to use. :)

The leaderboard strongly suggests it will be a Mazda Touring Car one make. Unfortunately you have to down tune the car to 72% power, which is then BoP'd to 58% power. This car when BoP'd normally was already a pig to drive but taking even more power off makes it really quite unenjoyable (for me).

There is a Lancia Stratos in the top 10, which I gave a quick go but it's very unstable.

Its a bit frustrating really. PD would have been better off just making this an actual Mazda TC one make so we can drive it with a bit more power, or not allowing down tuned N200 cars.

Also just tried the SFR. It's actually quite nice to drive and isn't "much" slower, but it is definitely slower.

Ah well, it is what it is.

I tried a few cars the other day and I was fastest in the Mazda TC.

also tried the non-racing-concept SFR, fun to drive but significantly slower than the TC

tried a few others that were even worse....sports 800, 2000GT, Golf, all crap.

another guy on track was having some success with the Ferrari Dino (tuned down) but I didn't like that car.

Haven't tried the Stratos, but it might be the only thing that can come close to the TC that I know of.

Sadly another first corner punt fest at Monza. Started a reasonable third in the GTR which finally came good. Everyone then decided to send it at the first chicane putting me in the gravel and through the first few corners punting me down to 16th on lap 2. Crawled back to ninth though could have been higher had I not pitted a lap or two early and had I lived in a bit more fear of the Monza track limits. Shame as I was writing off the manufacturer races up until Monza which suited the GTR very well.

Ah! You were in my race. I tried to follow you at the start once you'd worked your way back to me since I assumed you were on a better tyre than me. I assume you 1-stopped?

(PS @Famine you might want to check the filter if unacceptable words aren't censored)

Very tempted to try again.

Got good pace in the Jag, tried to get a tow in qualifying and out braked myself into T1 with the extra speed, Q13 (lobby times in clean air would have put me 8th-10th). Then had a horrific first half of the lap, I expected to lose a place or two under braking as I was starting on hards but got beaten up and went down to 18th almost 15s off the eventual winner who was in 2nd at that point, but recovered to finish 10th, just over 20s off. The only thing putting me off another run is a repeat of that half a lap, which could easily happen. Still not sure why I got a penalty, even the game didn't give a reason!

I actually think this is a weird race in terms of strategy because of the nature of the track. Starting on hards I found it beneficial to run longer to get the fuel down rather than bin them off as soon as the window opens and have a heavier car down the straights

Finally a decent top 5 result in the Lexus! With the fastest lap as an extra bonus!! :)

Qualified 11th and just thought it would be yet another hard slog near the back of the pack. Decided on 2 stopper. Got lucky at T1 on first lap getting through unscathed and making up a few positions from those that were less lucky. Had to do a little bit of fuel saving for a couple of laps so that I could get an extra lap to come in on the end of lap 10 for some Softs. Was about 5 seconds behind 4th and 3 seconds ahead of 6th.

Yeah I one stopped. Started on medium and pit on lap 5 for hard tyres. Probably should have stayed out a couple more laps longer but P9 wasn't too bad considering I was down to 18th when I came out of the pits.

Qualified 5th finished 2nd in the TT. That puts me 30 points away from my 500 goal (3 best rounds). Let's see if I can do it!
I was P1 up until the last time round parabolica because of a terrible exit out of Ascari. I made two mistakes but had good, clean battles. Tons of power so no complaints with the Audi, although I find Ascari very tricky to get right consistently in FF.

In the end quite sure that 2 stops is faster, at least for me. I did M6H3S5. The driver who finished in P1 did a 1 stop, I was way faster with soft tires compared to him on hard, if I hadn't bottled it I would have finished ahead.

Looking forward to seeing the updated slipstream. For tracks like Monza it will be a game changer.

Good luck to all, enjoy!

Started 6th and on pole for my first two races. Both of them I was last by Lap 1 because of L1 heroes. Ended up DNFing both times out of rage (SR S and SR A lobbies by the way). Now at 66 SR, have to repair it before I even think of going back to Monza. Off to Race A I go for the next hour lol

I'm in the Mercedes, which I feel is a fairly neutral car for the track.

Feel free to watch and chat as I do my best to retain my marginal A-S rating, and I'll (figuratively) be taking bets on where I am exiting the first chicane...

P14 on my first attempt, pitted for soft on lap 11 when I was p9, bad choice, I ll try again

Second attempt, unbelievable race: started p17 I found myself p2 (!!!!) at the end of lap1 but.. I started on soft by mistake, so I was forced to a two stops strategy, 464. Hard stint was good and I m p4 entering the pit for the second time.
last stint I exit the pit in p11, fight my way back to p6 and on the last lap a *** serving his penalty cut on my line while unghosting and made me spin on the straight....p10 arghhhh

MX-5 TC is the ideal car to be competitive. I've tried all the Mazdas that can be detuned. The Atenza was optimally quicker by a couple hundredths, over the MX-5 ND.

A Dino was in the top 10. I agree with the above post. PD always have an opportunity to dictate the specific class if cars. Restrict choices to those classes.

I even tried the Mini '65. Awesome around there. Regardless of how slow it was.

Well, Split 4 didn't go as planned, got Quali ruined by a Norweigan driver in an M4 who brake checked me through the Lesmos and the run up to Ascari after finishing his flyer. Q17.
Lap 1, same M4 driver crashes into me at Turn 4. Started on Hards so I wasn't too affected, but was 20 secs down on leader by L1.
Did 3 stints, 6H (+fuel), 4M, 4S. Great combo, almost made it up to 7th by the end of L13 but got caught up in a crash (10th to 7th all involved, was in 11th) as a spinning Lexus went back on the circuit after Lesmo 1, couldn't react fast enough and got engine damage, ended up finishing 12th.
All hope is in the final split lol

Yes finally back in the game with Nissan

Started 8th behind a group of Porsche and Ferrari’s. Had a good start and by end of lap 2 was 3rd. After first lot of pit stops I was leading the race! Had to come in on lap 10 for fuel and put on Softs. Came out in 4th 8 seconds behind 3rd. Chased down the gap and passed a Porsche on the last lap :)
