First impressions are very good. I personally didn't mind Music Rally and liked it more than I thought I would, and I enjoyed the entirety of the intro movie, though they should've included the option to skip this for those who wanted to jump right in.
The overall presentation and feel is very well done. The soundtrack choice is phenomenal. I haven't heard everything yet, but I've noticed a few GT5 tracks have returned, but the new ones are excellent and fit right in. All this to say that GT7 is my new favorite in this category - I'm a sucker for piano and strings.
So many animations. Little touches like the cinematic that plays when selecting a new menu book, the return of the 3D garage, scapes movies, the GT World's day/night cycle, the animations that play upon purchasing/winning a new car...there's such great attention to detail and you really get the sense PD wanted you to be enchanted by what's on the screen. A great change from the functional but bland GT6 and Sport, IMO. I haven't experienced much yet as I've only just golded the B License and began the 3rd book, but one thing I appreciate is being able to add a used car to your wishlist so you're notified when it appears. The countdown sound from GT1-3 also returns. I also like that all of the car descriptions (that I've read so far) include not just the displacement but also type of engine (I4, V6, 8, 12, etc) since it is not mentioned in any car's specs.
Graphically, at least on PS4/Pro, it's essentially GT Sport as many predicted. I could almost swear that the way light/shadow interacts with the tarmac looks better (this could just be honeymoon phase placebo though), and the intro movie implied that a heat haze effect is in there, but I haven't seen it yet. Load times don't seem any worse than GT Sport for me, but will be glad to eventually upgrade to the PS5 version in a few months as this is one area where it's really a game changer.
I hate to confirm that you indeed cannot sell a car unless you have more than one of it. I blew most of my preorder credits so that I wouldn't have it
too easy, and now I've got a bunch of cars I didn't really want. Maybe this restriction goes away once you've completed all the books. Whatever the case, I'll work around this for now by just using the Favorites section as my "actual" garage. I won't even bother with the AI dead horse. We all know the deal there.
I've got the day off so I'll be ruining my sleep schedule to open up the rest of the game and go from there.
Welcome to GT7, everyone. 👍

Editing to add some other observations:
- (On PS4 & not confirmed) Clouds look smudgier than I remember in GTS. This could be due to the dynamic cloud/weather system.
- Wind/tire noise is more noticeable, particularly in hood view.
