Anyone follow F1? quite a lot of juicy gossip regarding drivers and cars for 2012, expecially the Lotus reactive ride high system being banned after being developed with the FIA's blessing!

Been looking forward to the new season since the last came to a close.

The CT01 launches tomorrow, and I've got a hell of a lot to cram into my noggin before March 16th.

I am really excited. I live in Texas and hopefully will be attending the race in Austin at the Circuit of Americas track in November!

Really hope McLaren can dethrone the Red Bull's title reign.

That Caterham is also extremely ugly, hopefully it's worth it though.

I hate you. :p

I hope Webber is back to the way he was in '09; right on Vettel's tail and trading winning places with him every other race.

I'd really like to see a season long battle for first between JB and LH :D

Another person I hope has their act together is Hamilton. After that crap he went through (and said) last season, he really needs to shape up.

Caterham have leaked a side view of their new car

~CT-01~

Jesus wept

I don't think it's half bad looking. If anything, it looks too much like the T128. My question is why are they focusing on the sidepod?

I guess its focusing on the top exit exhaust, the nose is horrible though, apparently the Ferrari one isn't much better

Edit: Hm a reverse gear.. Thought those were gone long ago..?

They have to have to have a reverse gear to meet regulations. They usually make them as little as possible and don't put them with the normal gears on the paddles, I remember last year it took one of the drivers awhile to get the car into reverse.

The Ferrari is a very ugly car, I'm really hating these stepped noses, though the Lotus E20 is the best of the rest

The first test at Jerez today!

It appears that McLaren did not showed us their test car but a show car. So they might go with that ugly nose too..

I coded 2 cars becaus of the large amount of pictures. If you want me to uncode it, say it.. But it won't help the page layout..

Oh what a start to the season :D .... seems that Renault, Merc and McLaren are in it. Wonder if Redbull will be faster in the race than they were in qualification. Ferrari well there is nothing to say about them just look at where they qualified.

Fernando would have easily been top 10, but he spun out in Q2. It isn't surprising where Massa is.

God damn there are a lot of pics.

Yes, there are quite a few. I'll replace them with links in a little bit.

Fellas, next time have a clickable redirect to the full-sized image.

I've edited the posts accordingly; the only post with embedded pictures is now #17 (Carlos' last post in this thread) as it has every chassis in one collective post.

Great first race, and thanks to me placing some money on Button to win I'm slightly richer than I used to be

I think Button said something about pretty cars being fast. Now we know that's true (just look at how badly Ferrari did).

Anyone follow F1?

One would expect quite a few to follow it, on account of it being the world's number one motorsport. Over half a billion people watch it, and that's no exaggeration. I've seen figures citing over 600 million fans, but I've also seen similar figures stated as being the number of viewers per race, and the number of viewers per race will be lower than the total number of fans. For example, NASCAR claims 75 million fans, but only about a tenth of that actually watches any given race.

Why do you need to take every post so literal? I was asking if anyone on this Forum followed F1, I wasn't asking in general :odd:

Alonso did great. I think it's Massa.

Probably true. As much as I respect him, he's not on the same level as any of the other top ten F1 drivers. Ferrari would do well to replace him with somebody else. I wouldn't mind seeing Kobayashi driving for them. On the other hand, the Ferrari car is still one second slower than the Red Bulls and McLarens, meaning that they cannot put up a serious challenge for the championship unless they get a faster car or a faster driver to replace Massa.

That just shows how good Alonso is, he is fighting with a crappy car I don't like him but got admit he is very talented. He can out drive any car.

It would be great to see him and Vettel compete one-on-one in nearly identical cars, at least in performance. People forget that Alonso has two world championships.
